same here, I was really thrilled when I discovered this forum. I used to hang on FBTB a lot, before. But EB's got something more to it, I can't quite put my finger on what it is... Maybe it's the general friendly atmosphere... And the good alchemy between the admin. It makes the forum feel cosy. And closer, too *y* Well I don't mind doing it on my own either, far from it. but now I discovered a new thing : collective brainstorming for building ideas and techniques... Of course, it's still on a rather basic level, since he is new to the hobby :-D but I'm sure we may come up with interesting things later. I mean that's what's great with LEGO Clubs, I suppose (here I can only guess, really, since I have never been in any) but they must be a great place to share ideas among fans.

*knight* I am the Knight of the Lego Inquisition sent on a mission to elightened the dark ages of my entourage. The (le)go-between who unleashes the truth provided by the Holy Brick itself. I am the teacher of the untaught and the dispenser of the messianic Building Manifest!!! (Hum, sorry about that, sometimes I get a bit carried away X-D) Just to say that yesterday, I did something I never thought possible among my friends : I CONVERTED MY FLATMATE TO THE JOY OF LEGO!!! I just got my hands on the new MTT set and I was building it when he came to my room (I have student lodgings during the week) and saw me... And then, he started asking questions about which set was nice and such and what was good to get started, so I told him about the Creator sets which I think are great for their pieces and creativity process. And yesterday, he went to the toy shop and bought the black car thing and built it all day long. That was it : he was bitten by the LEGO bug. Which means that now I am finally not alone anymore!!! For 18 years, I was a lonely fan of Lego, building on my own, cast away in my room for noone understood my passion. But I stood firm, I held my ground, never giving into the temptation of falling into the Dark Ages so many experienced. Providing my needs with my own few dimes. And Finally it paid off! Now I have a follower. I can at last spread the Message, even if only one brick at a time! (oops, I slipped again, didn't I...) But gosh, that feels so good *sweet*

yiihaaaaaaa!!!!! Does that mean we will finally see some Yuuhzan Vong living ships???! That would be sooooo great! *wub* They're the best of them all... And maybe, a Thrawn MF... And Pellaeon... oh and... and... Boy, there's too much, I can't wait!! But I suppose we will see an Aalya MF, then, since she IS the only EU character to ever have been included into the films afterward because George Lucas liked her so much... (why does it feel like I'm getting ahead of myself...)

Hey! yet another one... We might start a new secret community inside the community X-D Hail to "The Secret Stud Sorting Society"... well ok, the word isn't quite right but it sounds good... :-D

Well, I used to like Tinitin when I was a kid, but lately when I reread it, I can't stand it anymore... I mean, the character himself is completely bland and empty. He never makes a mistake, never says a stray word or anything. Nothing wrong really happens to him because he always finds a solution to his problems straight on, no challenge whatsoever... If it wasn't for Haddock, the Dupond(t)s and Tournesol (the mad deaf scientist, I don't know if he's been translated by Sunflower or something) or even his dog, it would be soooo boring... And the other reason I don't like it anymore is a rather political one : The Herg

Alleluiaah I'm not alone... It's a habit I developped not so long ago and sometimes when I think about it, I kind of worry I might become like Monk (you know, that insanely obsessed detective)... Though in my craze, I even put it further and redid all of my previous models from before I got it... :-|

What would you pay extra for the box
yellost replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I try to buy them without the boxes when it's on ebay or other. After all, the only thing that interests me is the bricks themselves. And the boxes take way too much space in my room... they're stacked everywhere *sing* ... I already have a hard time storing my lego as it is without having to put up with the boxes as well... In fact, I'm even selling them on BL, that way I can get a little extra to buy more lego yet :-D ... On the other hand, I do think the instructions are very important, though... -
Foolish LEGO Human Errors You've Made.
yellost replied to ReZourceman's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, for that I've stumbled upon THE best lego accessory I could ever imagine : I found it only once and never heard of it ever again anywhere... it' some kind of green lever that works wonder for separating two plates. even two 1x2 plates... You can't start to imagine how in heaven I was when I brought that baby back home... I spent two days afterward skimming through all my boxes to separate every pieces I couldn't before... As for building idiocies, i got one that'll haunt me forever : I can now bend my thumbs almost 90 -
I have to say that although it was a good set (I like big and impressive ships), it still a few improvements : the nose was far too short in proportions of the main body, and the whole thing was full of holes (wow, what a paradox *wacko* )... But then, that's the magic of LEGO, we can just mod it to our own liking *sweet* besides, those flaws have been dealt with in the latest version of Boba's Slave I (by far the best of the three)

Well, one thing's for sure : Sam Raimi isn't afraid of anything... I mean, what the heck was that immensely ridiculous and useless scen withe that dancing dark peter in the streets? otherwiseit wasn't soo bad, but there was far too much inconsistencies in the story... which isn't really surprising, considering how much they wanted to put in it... I hope it will finally make people at the top in hollywood understand that more than one bad guy in a comic adaptation movie doesn't make it better (Batman & Robin anyone?). It inevitably makes one of them, if not all, completely dull and empty.

Lego missed the chance with Spiderman and Marvel
yellost replied to Nonpoint Fan's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hum could be but I can't quite imagine the actor of the symbiote speaking to foxnews... but then again they did say it was an unspecified actor... ;-) as for a lego set, I'm sooooo glad they didn't have the occasion of making a ridiculous dancing dark peter in the streets of NY! X-D -
Woooh, I wanna see a Giant-yellow-monkey super sayan baby whale!!! that could be soooo much fun :-D

lol I was skimming through the rest of the gallery when I found a really weird effect *wacko* on this picture, when you scroll down with the mouse wheel, it looks like the camera is panning above the army... I'm really impressed by the amount of helmet... I tried to do my own mandalorian army after readind the Open Season comic (the best Jango Fett comic imo) but I had to give up when I realised how few helmet were in affordable standard set (well, until they released the 'jabba's prize" set anyway...)

Damn, they did it again, they actually put another shooting thingy on the naboo fighter :'-( ... oh well but that MTT looks soooooo great, I might forgive them anything. It makes me almost happy to have missed the previous one (well, I wouldn't have had anough room to store the two on my shelves :-D It's already hard as it is... )

DUNE!!! THE best sci-fi serie I have ever read. I'm talking about the original here, from Frank Herbert. The ones from his son and K. J. Anderson are ok but definitely not as good as the originals. I hope the last two chapters they're writing will be a good finale. Otherwise, I love the Lord of the Ring and all Tolkien's work. Currently, I'm reading the Dragon Star trilogy from Melanie Rawn. it's the sequel to her Dragon Prince trilogy. It's a great piece of work, very different from other fantasy novels because it's much more focused on the feelings and emotions of the characters than usual. But boy, did I have a hard time finding those books... And finally, the best author ever, Terry Pratchett himself. Whenever I feel sad, melancholic or depressed, I just have to read one of his books and it's on for a blissfull moment of joy and hilarity. Apart from that, there's the usual lot of classics, like Alice in Wonderland, Dracula, Frankenstein (very good, that one) and other victorian litterature. for the entertainment, there's also Harry Potter and finally, for the pondering, all of those anticipation work (Orwell, Huxley, Asimov, Bradburry etc...) In the comic department, I love the Ultimate Spider-Man serie and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. And some of the good Batman stories. As well as a lot of other belgian and french comics, but too many to list them all.

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
yellost replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I really like both, but if I had to chose, I'd rather live in a universe like Star Wars than Star Trek. I find it more comfortable for everyday people, unlike Star Trek which has this formal feeling to it where only the elite can really enjoy the advanced technology... But then again, both have their drawbacks and dangers... Beside, there is that great spiritual issue in Star Wars, with the nature of the Force and all... -
I got lucky twice, really, the first time was when I saw 10 mini jedi starfighters in a second hand shop (but they were still in their sealed bag) at

I don't think the cd is the problem, since the game crashes long after it checked its authenticity and it doesn't actually need the cd to run the program... But it is the first edition of the game (I don't think WIn 98 even existed by then), so maybe I need a later version properly made for xp... That would be sad, though, because I don't want to buy another one, that'd be kinda stupid... needing two version of a same game because of compatibility problems... I mean hey, TLC isn't Microsoft, now, is it? But I'll try disabling my firewall...

I tried that, too but it still doesn't work... It keeps falling back to the desktop when I launch a race... But lately, I could actually see the start countdown before it crashes... Kind of frustrating, really... :-/

I think it's the spaceship we're in n in the Star Tour ride in Disneyworld...

Yesterday, I decided to replay on that old game, Lego Racers (by far the best video game made by LEGO... except maybe for the LEGO Star Wars ones, but I'm not sure ;-) ) But then, I couldn't make it work... Nothing. I tried to run it in Win 95 compatibility mode and all the others but It just doesn't want to. It does launch the title screen and the menu where I can select my pilots and all (I was even thrilled to realise that my old saves still worked) but once I start a race, it just shuts down and brings me back on the desktop... :'-( Does anyone know how I could fix this??? I think that what might be a source of the problem is that I'm trying to play it on a laptop, so the keyboard is different than a standard one (no keypad, for instance) or somthing like this, but I really have no idea...

Poll: Best Film/TV show Batman incarnation?
yellost replied to Zarkan's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hey!! Where's the Batman Beyond serie??? *sing* I'm not voting if it's not in there X-D -
Gosh, That cheese dragon is awsome!!!! *wub*

I'm not sure about that, when you consider the Mos Eisley Cantina. It had 4 new MFs (Greedo, Sandtrooper for his plastron, Luke with printed legs and the Dewback head) and it was 45
