  1. They were just added to my Brickshelf account so when the become available I'll flood the library! Ye be warned...
  2. Per curiosity... I just wanted to know what one looked like in case I see one on the open waters! BTW, They found this huge squid in off the coast Chile a year ago and thought it was this new species... turns out it was just the rotting corpse of a sperm whale... How's that for random relavence?
  3. Mister Phes. Can you please remove the link to my "Marine 2" and my "Merchant" those two torso's are no longer on brickshelf I had to make room for some others... I hope to publish around 25 new torsos and minifigs this afternoon! *sweet* Thanks! SirScottLego
  4. I thought I had an original idea :-$ ... but it looks like I'm just a pirate >:-) At my local Home Depot I found electrical tape in green, red, blue, black, white and yellow. The black, red, green and white are perfect matches for the lego color scheme but the blue and yellow are slightly off. I'm just completing my latest interpretation of Queen Ann's Revenge and will post soon, I started using the tape but in the end decided against it. Maybe on my next MOC. The tape looks great and is easy to use but you need to be careful because it will leave a sticky residue if it gets too hot... Just FYI.
  5. Um, I was simply wondering if this could be a good MOC idea for that big thingy that eats Jack Sparrow lol...
  6. Nabii glad you found the post. Fantastic work, great detail and perfect scale. You can lurk anytime matey!
  7. Hey I can't remember where the discussion was about how to tackle the building of a Kracken but I came across this today and thought of our poor Jack Sparrow.... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=206946 (not my work) Just an idea for the Kracken.
  8. I love this! Thanks for the share!
  9. MrTiber I love the "mizzen mast" critic, I am going to pull this ship out and retrofit as soon as I finish another project. Thanks for the help!
  10. Sign me up! I like the idea of best land fortification, best minifig, best historical ship, etc... Let's do this!
  11. I love the idea! I have some more to share soon. I have just finished some to be proud of, and I'm always ready for ideas from others.
  12. Don't you find no matter what the custom Will is a wuss! I can't decide who is the bigger whimp Will Turner or Frodo? lol....
  13. Any ideas on what the creator used to create the bond for Davey Jones?
  14. Found some custome POTC minifigs. Davey Jones looks awesome! (Obviously not my work) http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Lego-Pirates-of...1QQcmdZViewItem
  15. Do you think it's hard to stay standing on the back of the ship in full armor? lol Great MOC... wish I had the time and the patience to weave my own rigging.
  16. I love these moc's, the only thing I wish is that they switch the gunports from pirate flags to red or green... picky picky A?
  17. And I was worried that I wasn't going to have anything to read on my next vacation. lol. Seriously, very imaginative and creative. I loved the story and the MOCS are perfect! Nice share!
  18. Dude, that must have taken you hours, but it looks great! Hope you like the figs.
  19. Thanks for the tutorial... great work and share!
  20. Ya, I bought castle set on ebay awhile back because I was curious. As said before the quality sucked and I was disappointed in the minifigs because they aren't quite the right colors and look cheap. I did have a red solidier in the set (castle weird) but his uniform sticker was printed upside down...pretty funny. I would stay away, the accessories just aren't worth it.
  21. Fantastic find. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I think the sails would work better if they were custom but what really impressed me was the detail. I love the working area and the admirals cabin that looked like there was an attention to the detail. I do think there is good proportion but I'm not a big fan of a raft hanging from the stern, in that I love detail in the stern... this is the place that ship can get some "identity" and character and if you hide that with the life boat... Another great inspiration none the less. Wondering if they are still building these days?
  22. Anybody find value in the cartoon game Monkey Island? I also thought found this museum site in England for the HMS Victory with good information... What about forts and towns? Any resources?
  23. Absolutely fantastic. Even better on the figs. I love them! Thanks for sharing!
  24. Disclaimer: Mister_Phes and the Community, I've been wondering about a sub-thread in the Library of Honduras which would be the home to "Inspriatons", I already love the Set Reviews, Catalogs, Post Records, Box Art and Catalogs as resources but I often wonder what people have seen across the web non-lego that inspires them. Maybe this thread might be a start. My Pirate Lego Building life has very much been inspired by "Pirates of the Spanish Main", the History Channel website, and Ages of Empires III to start off with. What links outside lego give you inspiration for MOC's and stories?
  25. JackD I love your concept... Imperials, Pirates and the Damned. That seems like the solution. I don't know how many of you follow the "Pirates of the Spanish Main" Card game. But in the past year they have expanded from the "historical fiction" to include the fantasy aspects by introducing the "The Cursed". I don't no how long we should continue this discussion but I'm walking away with the thought that maybe a historical theme can only run so long before it becomes "tapped" out and needs some sort of fantasy to keep the imagination alive... but then you run the risk of becoming too "out there"....
