  1. I've been pretty busy lately but there have been a couple of torsos I've really wanted to get finished because I love the pirate characters... tell me what you think! Alatriste Black Pirate Green Pirate Lord Beckett Style (Adaption from a Morsana Design) http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l48/SirS...cave_battle.jpg more torsos to come...
  2. Apparently, POTC the video game has an undead pirate Jolly Roger... Here is my Lego version. Video Game Screenshot My MOC The Custom Torso Enjoy... While I'm here... I never released pictures of my Davy Jones... Love that Sculprey!
  3. For some time I've had the idea of building a pirate version of Forestman's Crossing 6071 and while building it just made sense to combine design with Armada Sentry 6244, and the result?... I like to imagine this was a deserted rum runners stronghold until my imperial find use for the strategic island as a stronghold. At any rate, hope you enjoy the moc... 4. So I happened to be looking at Forestman's MOC for sale on eBay, and the builder said he modeled his creation after a something in the Lego Mania Magazine... which got me thinking- Does anybody know where I could find scans of the magazine? And more importantly has anyone noticed if the magazine had ideas for pirate creations? Reference... (see it now before it disappears) http://cgi.ebay.com/Two-Lego-Robin-Hood-Se...1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Bonapart... I have failed to say it until now, but dang that is a sweet ship!
  6. Fantastic tutorial... I haven't used the paint program for torsos but this was a fun excuse to try! I'm still messing around but I thought I'd what I've done so far.... Introducing Lord Beckett from POTC3... in paint. Thanks again for the tutorial... Now I need to work on clean lines.
  7. As I am looking at the minifig the funny thing is that the grey sticker may actually be too dark... I think the flash from my camera caught it just right... I used the official color swatch from Lego, maybe my printers off a bit.
  8. TwistedDreams, it's great to have you visiting the board, and I'm sure I speak for all when I say we are so glad you are making a movie using Lego Pirates as the medium... Just some quick thoughts. I can't speak for those who have designed the ships you are inquiring about but I can say it will probably be a stretch to get them to bite at $250 USD... The actual official Lego ships BSB and SES (the big sets) can be in that ballpark on eBay, and I would be surprised if the ships you are inquiring about don't have significantly more peices. Maybe someone else can chime in too. I honelsty don't mean to discourage, arrangments are made all the time- it's just these sets, and Lego resources are getting harder to find everyday... If this community can help in anyway, I'm sure we'll try.
  9. Morsana, I love your designs you are phenominal! Thanks for sharing all your hard work. I tweaked the colors of one of your decals and now I introduce... George Washington! Thanks for all the fun and inspiration!
  10. Norrington, it has been so much fun watching the progression of this post! You started from scatch and you are really getting good. Keep it up!
  11. Tyger, I loved your decals so much a copied your design, changed the colors, and added a necklace and what do you have?... Walla, Capt. Teague (Jack's Father). Thanks for the inspiration. Sorry if it's alittle blurry... this is becoming one of my favorite customs!
  12. Just added a couple of pictures of the actual minifigs with decals... I think the red one really looks like Capt. Hook! Enjoy~
  13. I'll get the decals posted for "Jack" ASAP... I can't seem to find them right now- but as you wait here is the deep link for my custom POTC http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=207643 Also FYI for all... minifigs with the posted decals now accompany the thread...
  14. When I shrinked them for printing the jagged lines on these disappeard and they look fantastic... Truthfully, I took what was out there and changed the colors really quickly...I'll try to clean the image up ASAP.
  15. Maybe this is taking a design to the extreme but haven't we all wanted color variations of the original? Kudos to Lamanda2 for giving us the official copy... Now for the color variations- My personal favorite brown grey/orange green grey/yellow blue/red
  16. Mr. Tiber you beat me to the punch, but your moc looks great! Just BTW, I'll keep you all guessing... I'm in the Western U.S. in a land locked state... can't give away too much or you might find all my buried treasure! Side note: I wouldn't bag on Australia, after all one could argue it was settled by Pirates! Or former pirates who were caught and not killed, okay maybe just prisioners who were caught in English cities who never saw the sea, or... Never mind, but Australia did host a nice Olympics...
  17. Great looking ship! That's a hard hull to work with. I really like the deck planks, but I would hate to slip down those stairs :)
  18. So I get all packed and told my family I'm off for an adventure on the Revenge for fame and glory and then I read this thread further and realize... I'm 228 years too late! X-D
  19. Currently the ship is in a storage. But I hope to have it in my hobby room ASAP, and your suggestions Mr. Tiber are right on, the ship needs taller masts. Any resemblence to the BSB is accidental, in that I buildt from the ground up using a print of Blackbeards Queen Anne's Revenge. Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
  20. Can't believe how brilliant this is! From previous comments I had a hint that this was on the horizon... Wonderful work crew! Rum for all! Okay, that's irresponsible... Rootbeer for the kids!
  21. What a riot! Looks like you are having way too much fun. Really like the red-head! You may want to visit http://www.classic-castle.com/howto/articles/Torsos.html for official Lego colors... Have you stuck any of your designs on a mini yet?
  22. Phred, Thanks for the edits. I posted my version of Queen Anne's in the following thread back in October. http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...c=6427&hl=Queen This was such a fun MOC because all the research I had suggested the ship had a partial second deck. I really opend the ship up for "playability" too. There is also quite a bit of research out there about the team that found the ship and is restoring it... nice google sometime.
  23. For what it's worth I thought you might like to see some of my custom POTC... I don't know if they warrant their own thread because I don't think POTC should hijack our creative minds, but thought you might like none-the-less... My BrickShelf folder of some POTC crew
  24. Thanks for the encouragements. I welcomed a new baby, moved my family to a neighboring state and took a new job. Needless to say I haven't had much time for my lego passion of late. Last work I was able to accomplish was a MOC of queen anne's revenge. See: Revenge Brickshelf Gallery At the same time I completed a Carribbean Governor's Mansion, which I never posted... maybe I'll get that on the board this weekend... I also have some adaptations to a couple of Morsana's torso's to fit well with the Horatio Hornblower series... This is getting too long... I'll just say, It's great to be back. Oh BTW, I changed my avatar and signature... this was a custom fig I did of dead jack awhile ago...
  25. Great lines and very clean. I think you found the right harmony between detail and size. Would love to see more of your work!
