I would love to see an accurate Thanos bigfig but I think a Wong minifigure is much more likely - because the latter does not require new molds or parts. I'm just very skeptical that LEGO would bother with the new mold when they didn't before. I would personally rather see Wong or even a Drax or Mantis repack than a repeat of anybody in the first wave. The lack of White Wolf and Scarlet Witch is pretty jarring though, imo Given there are no MCU films coming out between July and March, LEGO will have a big hole in the fall/winter schedule and that might be a good time to do some new MCU sets or comic-inspired sets, which usually take some inspiration from what's going on in the films anyway.

Logged back in mostly to celebrate this! I hope for a solid successor to the Indominus set, considering I never had the chance to pick that one up as I wanted to, and likely still won't in 2017. I need me a big paddock :)

Got some of these on order again. Recieved two sets lately. I've been using ebay so it's harder to keep track of what's from what brand. The 8set with Scuba Iron Man, Space Iron Man, Mystique, Iron Skull, Steve Rogers, Cpt Marvel etc. -- fine set. Steve's face is a bit big and space Iron should have a printed head, but fine set. 6set with Deadshot, Hyperion, Cpt Marvel, Steve Rogers, Black Panther -- I'd really like to know what brand this one is. Heads won't move on four of the figures and have some poor printing. Plastic is almost painful to handle. Everything seems too tight (heads) or too loose (legs) and the plastic is a little painful o handle. Also got a new Wonder Woman from BVS loose on her own. Mostly fine. Not big on the head print and hair doesn't fit great but I can manage on this one. 3 more sets in the mail.

For those curious about how these are made and the length of time concern etc

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
JVM replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Any tips for modding the most recent OT Millennium Falcon utilizing some of the new changes from the TFA Falcon? -
I dunno man, they did Lord of the Rings sets for The Hobbit, it makes a lot of sense to me. I imagine Harry Potter has more value among kids than LOTR. Call me nostalgic.

It's actually a half-way decent quality bootleg of the 'Snowman Astromech' Ithink, was in one of the calendars? My memory's vague. Ididn't buy it myself. Dr. Henry Wu is the doctor, and I thought of that myself when I saw him. Lots of customization possibilities. The owner is Dr. Simon Masrani. The current Ron used to be Zach Mitchell, and the kid was Gray Mitchell. What came out wrong with him, anyhow? I'd love to see these customs when they're all done!

The OK figures seem disappointing, although I'll probably buy the set for Hope Van Dynne if nothing else. I suppose I should just be happy to see takes on the Ant-Man cast in LEGO form at all.
-
For my fellow Jurassic World fans... Here's hoping we might see the Rexys from Dino and the Triceratops down the line. I'd love a green Rex. There's also still Raptor designs to burn through. Thanks for the tip! I'll make a note of it.

Are those new FF arms an update from the old ones or just a personal upgrade with real lego? The new Antman set looks impressive but I definitely wannt to see photos before I buy. Shame Wasp doesn't seem to have wings

Really looking forward to this one and the Nexo Knights subtheme means there's a chance it might get more cross-platform appeal than previous attempts. That could be fun.

I'd love these combinations. We desperately need affordable OT Stormtroopers, especialy with the new design - I'm still weirded out about the new Shadow Stormtroopers. We can always use more Rebel troopers, too. Rebels Microfighters sound great, and I really hope Hera comes with The Ghost and the Inquisitor with the TIE. I'm probably being too hopeful but it'd be nice to see them in cheaper sets and it'd be easier to get a full crew. Zeb and Chopper'll need to cycle back in, too. Droid Escape could be interesting, I'll wait and see. The previous set was decent but the pod itself left some to be desired and the droids have been changed since. The Carbon Freezing Chamber set is exciting, especially at the prospect of new Bespin outfits. I really hope we can manage Chewie with C-3PO on his back. Ugnaughts seem possible - the new hairpiece for Doc Brown would be a good choice for them. I'm more excited for Lando than anything else though

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
JVM replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Pretty much any set under twenty dollars, particularly in the last ten or so years, becomes virtually worthless without the minifigs. There are exceptions but they're probably at least one in three. Those bother me more than logical-in-context blocky builds from fifteen years ago. You can also add me to the list of people who weren't impressed by the Technic sets, though they were a noble attempt. -
Great collection! The old Harry Potter IP is still a favorite of mine and I still don't have a satisfying minifig collection. Crazy jealous!

As much as I'd be happy to join you on the Wasp train, I believe it's already been confirmed they cut her from the Civil War script because they thought such a big reveal shouldn't be crammed into everything else going on.

At a local Toys R Us, I asked and was pretty much assured they would get another shipment of LEGO Jurassic World items. I did play the cynic a bit but it seemed as if they'd been guaranteed in advance. I'm not taking it as gosepl truth, but it gave me some hope. Of related note, when I was at Walmart and TRU recently, I saw several T-Rex Trackers, which I hadn't seen in June at either store alongside the other sets.
-
The thing that surprises me is the fact many of these seemed to go out of stock right after the movie came out. I loved the movie but didn't buy the sets right away because I figured new sets wouldn't disappear so quickly (As a general rule, I try to buy older sets first.) and that the movie had just come out and I wanted to reflect a bit. It looks unlikely I'll be able to collect all of them, much less a portion. I really hope there's second pressings - I'd like to at least collect them all sans Raptor Escape, although I'd never pass that one up again.
-
I have to wait until I see it in the flesh - most LEGO hairpieces always look ugly to me when I first see them, no matter how much I end up loving them - but it looks like it might be a bit too spiky for Tarkin. We'll see tohugh! :) I really love the new face - if it was more cheaply-available I'd probably make it my go-to face for all female characters in the future. Yeah, it's a tough call for me but sometime I might just bricklink the new parts, aside the head. The faces can't be replaced too effectively, especially for Porkins. I think the thing that's ultimately frustrating about it to me is that whereas LEGO once updated minifigs after several years and left the change for a years more, the last five or so year they seem to update the same fig in each wave. Darth Vader got a new head and legs last wave, only for a new mask this wave as well, for example, or the Stormtroopers getting a new body a few years ago, new legs, and then a new helmet, all separately. Whereas maybe it would've been better to leave the old designs for both another year and then debut a COMPLETELY new design. Hasn't the TIE Fighter Pilot changed almost annually for the last couple years, too? It's crazy to think how simple and consistent the line was for the first seven or eight years.
-
That's a tough call. I have a feeling Raptor Escape's still around here, but I'm not sure how badly I want it. Hopefully it's indeed going to be restocked!

I figured it was a given the more spoilerrific TFA sets'd appear in January. But what I'm really glad about is that LEGO isn't ditching the original or prequel trilogies after this.

It's known that licensees worked with early scripts - Hasbro has a Stegoceratops toy that was based on scenes that were never filmed, and prototypes of Indominus Rex have appeared with two or three designs that radically differ from the final. Considering LEGO only re-acquired the JP/JW rights a year or so, IIRC, these were probably a bit rushed. I personally don't mind the creative license too much -- it only really, really shows in Dilophosaurus Ambush, while the rest have reasonable basis within the film. I can agree it'd have been cool to see a Zara figure... Lowery and Vivian are cool but would be hard to fit in the current roster of sets. There's also two good opportunities for variations on Claire - the pink tank top and her original outfit. If LEGO produces any new molds, the Mosasaurus is basically a must, as much as I love the original 2002 one, although it's hard to work that into a set that wouldn't have a hefty price tag. I'd still reiterate I want to see the Dino Triceratops mold back. A legacy JP1 line would be fantastic and according to my own calculations, JP1 alone has material for two waves of LEGO, without including TLW or JP3 which offer possibilities themselves. All of this would be in "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" territory. It's smashing good news LEGO will be restocking Raptor Escape - not only because of the set itself, but because it means the other sets will likely be restocked further as well. I don't have the money to grab them al lright now but I'd like a complete collection down the line. (Maybe even a few duplicates..) It was considered a risk - the previous entries both made less than the previous entry (TLW made less than JP1, JP3 less than TLW) and there was a lot of negative buzz for the earlier versions of JP4, some elements of which made it into the final draft. The toy line accompanying the JP 3-D re-release and other tie-ins sold poorly aside two action figure sets. There was also negative buzz for JW before the trailers came out due to certain plot elements and the new cast, things that didn't end up mattering to a lot of viewers. It should be noted even Universal's high estimates were lower than what the film achieved, and a lot of people were expecting Inside Out to beat it the week after release.

I love alt. build MOC's and I'd love to give this a shot when I acquire the set! Looks great!

I'll upload a picture soon but used similar methods to the first page for upgrading a Tarkin figure. I also used the 2008 Landspeeder Tat Luke with the new hair acquired from the Echo Base set where he's in the bacta chamber. I also upgraded a Leia to the Millennium Falcon version by ordering the new head and hair pieces separately. Nothing too impressive. I've thought about upgrading pilots but I keep wondering if it's worth the money and effort I could be spending on other sets.
-
If there's a second wave, here's hoping we see Triceratops if nothing else. I'm still working on acquiring these but I honestly didn't have much money set aside for this summer. I have the Dilo Ambush and T. Rex Tracker and I'd still like virtually everything else...
