Did you order the LELE 4-Pack or the 6-Pack?
-
Gundumbomb's review is of the LELE 4-pack set, but the one you're asking about is different. Based on a listing on a certain auction site that included photos of the 6-pack loose, you might want to go for both or just the former - the latter set seems to have less printing, especially on the dinos' backs. I'm still working on the official sets but I'll probably grab LELE's 4-pack to help army-build. Notice LELE's "Echo" does not have his sickle claws, like the Dilophosaurus, but Charlie and Blue do. EDIT: Notice the unpainted teeth and back pieces. Probably worth getting for the baby Trike and Steg alone though. Don't ask me about the minifigs.

Jurassic Park and Jurassic World Set Ideas Thread
JVM replied to Tom Jurassic's topic in LEGO Licensed
Working on a catalog-esque proposal for a LEGO JP series of sets... for fun, mostly. Trying to match up price points is pretty difficult though, as well as avoiding 5 different sets with jeeps... A couple thoughts about dinos in the meantime... You could probably re-use the Dilo body (well, Raptor without the sickle claws) and a new head to come up with a really basic proper Gallimimus, if LEGO wanted to keep spending low. I think the legs for the Triceratops could absolutely be re-used for an Ankylosaurus or a Stegosaurus, but new tails, heads and bodies are almost certainly required. Not only would a Spinosaurus only require a new separate spine piece, and head - the Indominus arms can work on the Rex body, back legs and tail - but the latter could be re-used for a Baryonyx if LEGO wanted a new species to add. Apatosaurus and Brachiosaurus could probably share a body, neck, tail and back leg pieces, with different front legs and a head to give the unique Brachiosaur body structure. There's four variations of Velociraptor we could still see on the same mold and at least one more Tyrannosaur variant. Obviously we'd all love completely new molds but I'm trying to think realistically to maximize our chances of new dinos ;) -
I'm mixed on it. I think fleshy looks better, but I also think yellow is part of the LEGO style charm, and while we've built up a lot of fleshy pieces over years and years, when it was a new introduction you had a very small pool of items to mix pieces from and it still feels a little weak that sometimes parts are incompatible between regular and licensed themes as a result of this. I'm fine with the status quo as it is now, but I have to say that I was unhappy with the change when it initially occured.

I'm not surprised. Kids love dinosaurs and the movie base only adds interest, especially with probably older kids who wouldn't normally buy just for a dinosaur. Of course, this is coming from someone who bought the Adventuers Dino line fervently, multiples of the cheapest set from Dino Attack, and the only thing that held me back rrom the Dino Defense HQ in 2010 was a funding deficit. My main curiosity at this point is if we see another wave, what will it look like? Will there be more Jurassic World-inspired material, a focus on the original JP1 film, a mixture of all film, maybe more semi-original items like T-Rex Tracker? Will there be new dinosaurs or more of the previous ones? New colors?

I've enjoyed the theme and am in the process of purchasing T-Rex Tracker (in parts from separate sellers, as it's not on shelves here except overpriced at TRU) and hoping to pick up the rest of the sets, save the exclusive Raptor set. (If we have extras around here, I might grab two and save one for investment if it proves to be rare.) To the topic though - is there any realistic evidence to suggest LEGO might do more waves? The line is selling incredibly well and there's a lot of material to cover in previous movies, and a little more in JW if they try hard enough, but I know LEGO plans sets out ages in advance, so unless more sets were pre-planned I can't imagine seeing them soon.

I avoided these for a while until I got two sets as a gift that included a number of repeats of those I owned in official LEGO and some new ones. The first set only included standard characters and was poor quality, Spider-man could not even have hands, but the other set, a large set of 20 or so figures from another seller (I believe these were Sheng Yaun?) amazed me in quality. I was really pleased and got some new characters to add to the collection, so I now plan on purchasing more of these in the future, though I absolutely plan to do my research. I'm mostly pretty happy with what we have and what we're getting, but I have to say, I would love to see an Abomination bigfig. I know I'd buy one. Burce Banner and game Mandarin would also be cool to see.. and eventually a standard fig Goblin. Cool to see DeCOOL will be throwing in Maria Hill! @Pinoy Bricksters: Amazing displays over there!

CM4S, thank you for the lovely art. Both sets excite me much more than the Spidey ones do - nice to see some more villain vehicles and the Hulk Lab looks like a great proper setpiece! I respectfully disagree to an extent - I don't think a lot of kids will complain about the lack of a character-specific vehicle so much as not getting one at all. Batman needs a Batmobile sure, but has anyone been asking for a Batcopter obsessively? Kids do want vehicles, but I'm sure plenty of kids would buy a set if it was a vehicle villain or a well-designed location, without necessarily a Bat-vehicle or Spider-vehicle. You bring up an interesting point on the police sets. I really don't think a cruiser here or there would make a big difference, but that is a good reason why it's not done extensively.

Much better than the recent solo release LEGO police car - looks great!

Like all of the new minifigs, but really baffled by most of the sets. The Doc Ock and the small sets are the only ones I think I'd buy in full. Of course, these are only prelims. I kind of wish we'd get more locations and less vehicles though. Also really pleased to hear we'll get a Red Skull. And omw, is that a classic Robin in the Juniors set? I'll have to get his head at the very least. An entire wave of $50 sets? No thanks. That said, of all these ideas, the one I love most is the Gotham Police Station :) A standard LEGO wave should be a $15 set, a $20 or $25 set, a $30 set, a $40 or $50 set and a $70 set.

The Cannon looks more like a BP to me. If it's really $50 it'll be a worse overprice than the TRU Battle of Hoth exclusive. I might pick up the smaller stuff and buy Chewbacca and Plo Koon separately. We'll see where the funds are.

Love the new Ep. 3 Trooper and new R2-D2, still! The new Pilot is a bit boring and I'm still disappointed in the Kashyyyk Trooper... but omw, give me all your white clones.
-
So, what microfighters would you guys like to see?
-
I might have to pass on the Kashyyyk Troopers BP now.
-
Haha, a new molded Plo Koon? Perfect, was just thinking the other day about how much I wish TLG'd make an improved version of him!
-
I love little MOC's, they're quite underrated - I might build this myself, great work!
-
Really wanrt this set. Don't even care if I get the minis right away. It's pretty much the most beautiful Super-Heroes set in terms of actual build and locale I've seen. If I would've known this was coming I might've saved up earlier.
-
I really loved the original Phase II Troopers and have a bunch... I'm totally ready to get a bunch of new white Clones, once I know which set the white ones'll be in. Hope they do a new BP akin to the 2007 one though at some point. And finally, a good-looking R2!

I think a Ledger!Joker'd be a great exclusive since it certainly won't be in a set.

Beautiful. I'm now glad I've waited on upgrading Grievous.
-
The world can always use more Kel Dor and I enjoy small one-person ships. (Hell of alot more than paying over fifty dollars for a one-seater.) Nice work!
-
Bought two of these and stole the jetpacks from my old TCW Jet Troopers for the Sergeants, Battlefront-style. I liked it a lot better than the TOR BP personally - nice to get some realistic new Clones and I've been begging for cheap Droidekas. They're not terribly accurate but I think they do a better job than the last few.
-
Don't see why people are complaining about Man-bat, but I'm pretty excited for him. And the new Joker looks neat.

Now I almost want to build a Royal Guard army out of spite. Really looking forward to the Grievous set mostly myself. Small chance of picking up the Jedi Starfighter depending on the price tag. Will probably go for a battle pack or two.
