Can I solder wire to electric plate 1x2 with contractor instead of it?

I have no new PF train motor, and I tried to use old 9v train motor, but I found if I put 2x2 plate with wire to 9v train motor, the bogie plate can't be rotated as 2x2 plate with wire is too thick, is this right? Do I have to make a 2x2 plate with wire by electronic plate?

Is it possible to damage IR as overhead current?

I am still using old RCX and serial IR tower for my projects. I have a question about old IR tower, can I use a 9v power supply to this tower instead if 9v battery?

Do you still have that train? Can you show me if it still on your collection.

Can you tell me or show me how to open back? Though I once opened a 9v motor, but never tried to open connector or light sensor...

Maybe I didn't talk clearly. To my purpose, both parts are ok because first part has open or glass window. I want to build variable locomotives with open or transparent front windscreen in different format.

I checked that site, it seems like there is no more locomotive with transparent front windscreen. Any site else?

I want to create train locomotive with transparent front window (slope or not), but I am not very good at building train model itself, where can I find such instructions so that I can combine such design to my train? By the way, transparent front is used to communicate by IR easier. Thanks for your suggestion.

I have a lot light sensors and wires connectors, maybe it is too old, I found the wire core is exposed as in picture, I want to replace this wire to a new wire, how can I do? What can I open bottom plate and what tool to be used? Does any expert give some suggestion to repair it?

This is very charming! LEGO is too expensive! Can you ask LEGO company to use Arduino as LEGO parts? You know, if I used parts out of LEGO, there will be a lot of potential products as selection, this is what I am afraid...

I will try to use one EV3, some RCXs and PF receivers, I will try Arduino if I have no way to do:)

I want to continue using 9v train motor and modify this motor to pick up power from track, so that a lot of my 9v tracks and motors can be used like before. In such combined tracks with metal and plastic, 9v train motor and PF motor all can be used. But I never modified motor, do you think it is easy to modify?

What is Arduino? I am a pure LEGO fan, I only want to use LEGO. Parts to create my MOC, is Arduino hardware or software?

Yeah, but now PF is main, I am thinking to use RCXs and EV3 to control combined PF and 9v system.

This is simple project, there are only two RCXs, one is on mobile deCoupler, one is to control switch track and power on track.you can find IR communication between two RCXs. With PF system, maybe this mobile deCoupler is useless, but it was not a bad idea before PF:)

I have to pass wire to other side of track so tt I lift up tracks. I know there are too wires, I thought to make a base with a lot of two layer baseplates, so that I can hide all wires between two baseplates, but I have no so such baseplates, then this is for a contest so time to make base.

I used four RCXs to control two trains, one car, three switch tracks and one cross leveling, there are five light sensors to check three switch tracks, two light sensors to check cross leveling. RCX1 is master to control RCX2 and RCX3, then RCX3 is to control RCX4, all programs is run in brickOS. Now I try to convert this project to PF system so that all wires will be moved. That is great! By the way, I want to know why don't you use PF train instead 9V train? Is it difficult to control? I had used 4 RCXs to control two 9V trains and one car past, you can view it now I want to control PF trains with NXT or EV3, but I have no idea to use NXT controlling PF trains, do you have any suggestion?
