I still use RCX on train to control my train, so that I have to modify original 6W to 7W train and increase height, but I am not sure which vertical position is better for that modification train, please give me suggestion.

I just asked creator, he told me he built it with only lego parts and no any modification of parts, and no video and only this two pics, then now he is making instructions.

Thanks for your advise and suggestion. I knew LDCC, but that is controlled by LDCC firmware, I am a software engineer, I like to control all my trains by my program automatically. You are right, modifying to 8 wide is not easy, at first I will change width to 8 for my RCX, then I will try to change front to 8, this is not so easy because special parts. I think the most important is process of modification when play Lego not result itself. I am very bad at model design and creation itself, I am good at software developing, this is why I keep to use all my RCXs to trains, stations, and city around my layout, please give me idea for modification 8 wide train, thank you a lot.

Good idea but only in theory! I once separated a RCX, the battery box has to be together with RCX body or RCX doesn't work. The picture as above is the thinnest mode.

I want to keep that original baseplate so that the structure will be tight, I think the windows should be moved higher two plates for blanche vertical. I want to use a window a small door because I have to power on/off RCX easier without take off to, but there will not looks fine, I am not sure how to do.. I don't think 7 wide can work, because two plates wire need to be used on RCX, you can check picture as below, 8 wide is best for RCX on train.

I use a RCX remote control to control if need, then I use program in RCX to be a auto control, communications between RCXs is by IR. What do ou mean "mange train"? I use brickOS control move and stop train, and a rotation sensor to control train in constant speed, then use other sensors along track to switch points and train direction or pause to wait a express, there will be several trains with itself RCX. Hope this is answer your question.

Now I got a 8 wide 10233 and put RCX inside locomotive, this is my first MOC of 8 wide train, because the height is also increased, I am not sure if I have to let side window higher one brick than now? Can you give me some suggestion ? By the way, I don't have enough orange bricks, so using yellow...

I am not sure what size about pro mini / Teensy? What size nod price? I will use them after I used all my RCXs...
