    I think Dyric fears apathy - both in himself and in Heroica. I think his fear is losing vigilance and giving in to the chaos around him. There may be more there - it's been a bit since I've gotten deep into Dyric's head - but that's definitely the one that stands out to me the most.

    I still want to finish Duplovia. It's been slow going, and I don't really know how many people are interested in it - but it's a story that's weighed on me a while and I'd like to see it completed.

    I wasn't around for you announcement, but with the anniversary on the way I'd like to join in thanking you, Sandy, for all the work you've put in over the years. Heroica truly is a unique and creative endeavor, and anything in it is owed to you.

    Dyric walks into the marketplace. His change purse isn't as heavy as he'd have liked, but there were still a few things he could get done. Laying his crossbow on a workbench, he adds the elemental saphire. (136-50=86 gold)

    Dyric gives a half-hearted shrug. Whatever comes up, I suppose. I know I'll be on call if the witches show up again. Should the Fates allow, we'll be able to end this once and for all. Until then... The hero turns away from his table, taking a long look at the old building. I don't recognize the faces, Hoke. New people always come in, good people keep leaving. Stick to a quest or two a year, and - well, I don't know most of these people. I've never been one to run around introducing myself. Nerwen practically forced me to ask out- There's a tired sigh as Dyric sloshes his drink around. Then there's Claire. Have I even told you about her? Who knows anymore. I should break it off, I know. It's not fair to her, leaving for a year at a time like this. Running around with these people I've never met. And yet... this is who I am, Hoke. Being a Hero, saving the day. I can't live without this, in fact it'll probably be the death of me. Somehow, I've become content with that. With a wry grin, he turns back to Hoke. Did that come anywhere close to answering your question?

    Indeed. Long and tiresome, but also eye-opening. Seeing home again was... refreshing, I think. Though I would have liked to see your dragons. I do always enjoy the company of dragons.

    After a long journey, Dyric Rone returned to Heroica. Had it been nearly a year since leaving? Had it been longer? Etheria's effects still lingered on him. Regardless, he followed routine and checked the Quest Board, penning his name on Quest 151. Tired and weary, he fell into a seat.

    I seems to encourage spirited debated. Thank you for all your kindness, Your Highness. I hope we meet again. I am ready.

    I helped raise Baltarok itself to glory - not because of coin, but because it was the right thing to do. I toss Zane the 50 coins David gave me. You think all heroes are the same, but they're not. I couldn't care less if a quest had golden reward. Do you know what I put every cent into? Potions, 'consumables', bettering my equipment. I don't spend it on frivolous enjoyment, I use it to be better in the field. So I can be more assistance to the people of the world. That is who I am, Zane. What do you know about me, if not that?

    The difference, Zane, is motivation. By your own admission, you strive to increase your standing. I was like that, once - but I'm not anymore. I strive to help the people, the innocent. Everything I do is for them. Do you honestly not see that?

    Thank you, Prince David. I'll be sure to keep your words in mind. Well that depends. How many other boats are leaving to Eubric? Any garbage scows, maybe?

    Too much. Zane tried to strong-arm us for our half of the map - he has it's twin. We managed to acquire his half and fight the Fountain, Zane followed us. Matthias and Zane both drank from the Fountain. We actually found Iceborn in our next destination, the mythical Etheria.

    Well enough. Eubric? I worry of what Zane plans, but don't dare pry now. Instead I turn to David, and give a respectful bow. I did in fact locate the Fountain of Youth. Thank you for your efforts in aiding us, Prince. I see you've made acquaintance with the Court of Demons. I hope you've thought that through to its fullest.
