    Thanks Allan We are doomed! does not workwell at least i made another mess on my bedroom floor ,I think it is down to the size of plastic tube and rod i am using thats all i had ,Photo bucket is broken down as well ( it is not loading my pic's),i tryed rubber bands but it was not working ether.     I happen to thave a rubber mold already so i am just going to cut a bit of that a see what happens.

    Update: I need to make a rubber seal i think its leaking through the top.

    I am away to try biulding a small ram out of plastic,i will report back here in about an hour and a half or so. Wish me luck.

    Welcome To the forum . I don't think you could replace those clutch gears with any thing else,unless you use a diff to transfer the power to something else like extending the legs,and then lowering them.

    So who wants to build a lego cnc machine? A lath might be better but i dont know if anyone has built one out of lego,i cant find one on youtube. It will set me back about £40-£50 to cast longer rams in liquid plastic, but i am not sure if this would be strong enough.

    You will be waiting a long time if we are going via Cuusoo ,Some one will need to build them.

    The next stage would be to for someone to try making one and then if thay work, and if alot of people would want one the start selling them,easy as that .
