  1. Don't be sorry Astra, it's ok. I don't think anyone is offended here.. Right. back on topic then!
  2. Same feeling here. I think it is great to have Jamie here, which means he recognises our compliments and feelings towards his creations. No doubt however that people would like to 'tease' him with certain questions about the upcoming future and models, but he already expressed the TLC's policy. Kind of 'been there, done that'. I only like to express my wish to have Jamie here around some more. just for the fun of it, like we have with so many other members!
  3. When it comes to celebrating Jamie Berard year i was wondering: Where can i get the original Jamie Berard sneakers? Let's all wear them!
  4. No worry, we'll take care of that!
  5. I'm sorry to say that Market street has never been my favorite... It just didn't blend that well with the rest of the modular buildings, apart from this hideous blue color. Ever seen a blue building??...
  6. I think it is not appropiate to do that... The TLC won't be happy if we got our hands already on instructions how to build something that isn't even released yet don't you think?
  7. As for me, when a new modular building comes out, i'll make sure my wallet allows me a couple of those. It's a wrench, but well worth it! Same goes for other sets that have anything to do with town. No matter if it is an exclusive or a creator set, it all comes down to the bricks in the set. You can find out about it easy. I knew even before it was released i had to have a few of that Fire Brigade, just to make sure i had a number of those dark red 1 x 1 tiles... Now have a go and create! Haha
  8. That is easy. Basically you collect your bricks as you buy your sets over the years. With those you can start playing and find out how some bricks can be used, not just the plain 1 x 2, 1 x 4 etc. bricks. Some people buy a number of the same set, just to collect bricks. PAB is a good start if you need a specific brick in a certain amount. Creativity is all. it's not up to someone else (like me) to tell you how to start, that's up to you. I can only give you an idea. And if you're happy with your creation, that is ( i think) the best achievement you can make! :)
  9. Hi Rhino, First have a look at this topic: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36535 It's pretty much a collective instruction from some people on how to start your own building. Than you could take a glimpse at this: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=36576 It's my current project i'm creating, (a sweetshop) and it comes with quite a few pics on how i fumbled everything together. Just to give you an idea. Cheers, JJ.
  10. Mnaaaaaa! Two a year is just fine! And if the guy needs inspiration, just visit this place!
  11. About those tan baseplates.. I wouldn't mind them if they were dark tan instead of these!
  12. Ok, that confirms that this is once again a Jamie Berard creation. Thanks.
  13. Just wandering: Is this creation once again done by Jamie Berard? If so, kudos to him off course!
  14. Only one?...
  15. Like i said, this is a real stacker! I can see the pics already in the instructions with 5 levels or so, and two of these fixed together.........
  16. Hmmm.. I wouldn't put my money on a post office yet.. The icecream thingy on the left could also be a hint don't you think?...
  17. Well, now i've seen the pics, i need to change my mind a bit... I hope i can say this: It is a must have, for sure. But i think the comparison here with Svelte's Moc tells me something. There are quite a few people here on board that come up with such impressive stuff as well. It is just that we don't have our hands on the latest bricks and color collection like the designers have. It is a very fancy building with pretty much detail and funny things in it! So yes, i would buy this one the moment it'll be released. But my hands can't wait to start tweaking here! And if there's no elevator in it, i'll make sure to fit one in! Haha. When will this one be released, does anyone know?
  18. I think it is a 1 x2 with bar as well. Seems to me there are cheese slopes on each side of it.. Another thing: This building is exactly a stacker as well. Just add 2 or 3 layers on it like the others...
  19. I think i would change that 'Shop' sign in an instant... Maybe some neon like thingy could look good here, using some blue pneumatic tube...
  20. Many thanks in return! :)
  21. Hmm... I can't say i'm completely over the moon yet, i'll wait for more pics to come...
  22. So, back again! Let me first wish you all a very Legotastic 2010, before i forget. Now, on with the sweetshop. I should say that once again the quality of my picture-taking-skills is not what it should be, but better will come, promise! (I think it has much to do with winter time here. The room appears to be much darker than spring or summertime...) As you can see i've added some arches and detail around the windows and most noticable: a genuine gumball machine. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2982.jpg I can hear some of you say that the construction could be done much easier when see and read the explanation, but all comes down to the color of tiles. I insisted on bright light orange ones, and i could only find them in 2 x 2. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2987.jpg I should mention Chromebricks here, as i found there some bricks that stand out excellent here! I've added a metallic silver Mech. Claw. Next couple of pics should give you an idea how i did this one. If you have any questions, please let me know as i did not take the best pics here. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2990.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2991.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2992.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2992.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2988.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2987.jpg And voila! one might question the size of this gumball machine, but i like it the way it is now. I'm not sure if this is the final place on the side of the building yet, but for now it'll do. I could position it under a window as well, not blocking the pavement this much. I also did my flooring on the inside, and determined the place to place the stairs to the next level later. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j185/JJG...el/DSCN2984.jpg The floor is done in Tan and dark Tan tiles, with dark red on the sides. I might not need the whole floor done in tiles, but it gives me freedom in placing a desk, display stands etc. Maybe a second gumball?... See ya next time! Cheers, JJ.
  23. As for me, building my own street/town started with the release of the famous four: the Cafe Corner, Market street, Green Grocer and the Fire Department. These sets made me realise how much fun you're own place can be. And of course with the color palette as we have it today, the freedom is yours. Never before could we create buildings, street situations, vehicles with this much detail in it. And let's face it: the more detail, the more the fun! Therefore i really hope that more bricks will be produced in the future in rare (sand) colors. I just love it when i can loose myself for some hours in my town especially after a hard day's work. It takes my mind of things really. I look at my post office, and imagine how one of the packages could be my next order from bricklink... If i glance at the local newspaper, i wonder what the news could be that day... And there's always the wish for more. More buildings, more vehicles, more people, more fun. That's all there is to it, just fun! Cheers! JJ.
