One option is that this is like one of those bigger alarm clock figures? And the regular set figs will be more normal looking and lack the digital features. Or maybe this is like some weird Tomogotchi-esque thing. Actually that's gonna be my bet, the blind bags are interactive bigfigs/amiibo that integrate with the games somehow. Normal sets will feature normal figures. That's a lot of molds, but I could see them doing it with cheaper manufacturers in China. Maybe even using Nintendo's amiibo manufacturer. Also, I have to go to on record here saying that I called this. I have been saying for MONTHS now that this was only a matter of time. I have a feeling Nintendo has been trying to make this happen for a while now, but LEGO has always been scared of video game licenses. But after Minecraft proved succesful, and Overwatch proved without a doubt that it wasn't just a fluke, Nintendo was the obvious next step. I wonder how this plays into the Zelda Ideas set currently under review. Did that help start negotiations? Or was it just another piece in the puzzle?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 20. Rumors and discussion

Not to mention all of the new animal molds we've gotten from the series. Really excited to see this turtle from the new wave! -
[MOC] Commerce Guild Diamond-Class Cruiser
TheNerdyOne_ replied to Graupensuppe's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This looks great! A very nice representation of this ship, love finally seeing someone make a model of it! -
Finished a few new ships, this time from Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. The Zann Consortium has some really great ships designs, though my headcanon is that Maul uses them with Crimson Dawn in the new canon given their Mandalorian roots and his ties to the planet. The only thing I wasn't sure about is the size of the Interceptor-IV frigate. From my understanding it's supposed to be a modified Action IV transport, but Empire at War scales it significantly larger. I just went with the Action IV size, since it made more sense to me. Interceptor-class Frigate Crusader-class Corvette Vengeance-class Frigate Fleet shot Instructions for all of these are coming, but I have to finish the Assault Frigate/Assault Frigate Mk2 instructions first. Which are in progress!

Thanks very much, I appreciate it! I am ordering pieces for all of these at some point, and plan on uploading the building processes to YouTube and bringing them to a few conventions! However as of right now I likely won't be sharing those builds much beyond that. The reasons why are a much, much larger discussion probably best suited for their own thread, but I'll just say that I've experienced a lot of people on other websites write off my builds because of their digital format, and to be frank at this point it's a bit of a spite thing haha.

Thanks so much for the kind words everyone! I really appreciate it! I'm working on those instructions right now, so hopefully it shouldn't be too long!

I've been putting off making this post for a while now simply because I wasn't sure what the best way to show off my little fleet was, but I've decided I'm just going to put all of my builds into this thread. I've been working on this fleet for about a year now (well, 10-11 months), it started with a Mon Calamari cruiser and just grew from there. Previously I had been doing all of my ship builds at 1:400 scale, but soon realized that this new scale would allow me to realistically build bigger ships, and a larger variety of them too. As of writing this post I have finished 28 Star Wars ships at this scale, totaling 19,286 pieces. I've slowly been working my up to bigger ships, so a lot of those are on the smaller side. I'll be organizing them in this post by faction and ship, and I'll post updates in the thread as I finish new builds. I also have instructions for most of these, so I will like to those when applicable as well. Galactic Republic Confederacy of Independent Systems Galactic Empire Alliance to Restore the Republic The Resistance Civilian/Pirates/Syndicates Fleet shots Well, that's it for now! I hope you enjoyed all the ships, and again I'll be posting new ones in this thread as I complete them so be sure to be on the lookout. I'm also open to suggestions on what to make next, I have a pretty good list going and hope to make every notable ship I can, but new ideas are always welcome! Thanks!

The gunship and Neb-B are both fantastic choices and I'll be happy with either one for sure. The gunship has fantastic potential for a highly detailed minifig-scale model with some new molds and great figures. While the Neb-B would be fantastic simply because we need more capitol ships in general, but especially where the rebellion is concerned. Though if they do go with the Neb-B, I hope we get an interesting figure lineup. The characters we see on the Neb-B in ESB simply don't excite me, we've already gotten plenty of Luke and Leia. If they were to take some inspiration from Rebels in include characters like Dodonna and his crew, I'd be completely on board.

This has happened to me before, and in my experience it's caused by the "Groups" tab. I'm not sure how it happens, but sometimes LDD will create new empty groups. This isn't usually an issue, but over time and as you import more and more files, the number of empty groups grows very quickly as each import brings all of that file's groups. Eventually it gets to the point where you have hundreds, which causes the problems you mentioned. I had quite a few files that were giving me a lot of issues before I eventually opened the Group tab by accident and saw the problem. Copy/pasting to another file will indeed work, as mentioned above. Another option is to edit the LDD file in a text editor, then simply scrolling down to the Groups section and deleting all of the unnecessary ones.

Definitely betting on Stud.io being LDD's "replacement." LEGO can finally make money off of their digital model builder, and doing that under the Bricklink name allows them to avoid confusing younger audiences by linking to a secondary market in an official LEGO program. My bet is they'll end up re-working the software to use their official library. I'm sure they've kept their LDD library updated despite not making those updates public, if only because the program is used in the development of models for things like their movies, video games, and promotions. Even if they aren't able to program a converter, it really shouldn't be all that hard to complete the entire process manually. I've already done it myself with most of the LDD parts Stud.io is missing, though it's obviously not the exact same process that LEGO would be using. The biggest task, I think, is going to be optimizing Stud.io and making it a bit easier to use. While it's a fantastic program, it is missing much of the polish that I'm sure LEGO is going to want. It will be very interesting to see how this all develops, if they are able to make Stud.io easier to use it may be what finally convinces me to uninstall LDD.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
TheNerdyOne_ replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm not able to see it either. Might not be a big deal, but I've also have some people tell me they're having difficulty signing up for Ideas to support one of my projects. -

Same issue here! Don't worry though, the projects are all still there. It seems this issue only happens when you're logged in, I logged out and everything looked normal. Just log out and you should be able to see your projects. It's probably just a simple filter that got messed up during the maintenance, I'm sure it will be fixed here soon. -
It has now! Looks like it should go nicely alongside the Cyber Dragon.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TheNerdyOne_ replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Oh ya stickers or printed makes no difference to me, I was more referring to the zebra design itself and how fun it is! Just a little poor word choice -
I have to say, pretty much everything about this wave is just perfect for me, though I'm a more casual fan of the line. They nailed the cyberpunk aesthetic so well! The enemy designs are just perfect. Wouldn't have said no to another dragon, but other than that I do not have a single complaint. This entire line is a must-buy for me.

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
TheNerdyOne_ replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I honestly thought LEGO safari was never, ever going to happen. Even though pretty much every other set is completely mediocre and uninteresting, this single safari set alone just redeemed this wave for me. The zebra-printed car is great, and while the lioness isn't quite anything super new and exciting, it's still cool to get that mold in a new color. Really really hope this is just a sign of things to come, there's so much potential here. -
Followed the link, downloaded it, and installed. Unfortunately it seems at least that specific file only changed the preferences.ini file, so no new parts or any reaul update.

LEGO Star Wars 2019 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
TheNerdyOne_ replied to Stash2Sixx's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It would have worked even less if they did Sullust or Lothal. While I'd love either of those, like it or not stuff from the movies absolutely sells best. There's a reason we haven't seen any TCW or Rebels UCS sets. The more expensive a set, the more risk LEGO is at if it sells poorly. I could see us someday getting maybe a Victory as like a small mini/midi set, but never UCS unless it gets a much bigger role in a movie (and even then, system-scale is probably best we could really hope for). -
[MOC] MC80 Liberty Cruiser "The Geist"
TheNerdyOne_ replied to TheNerdyOne_'s topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks everyone! Plans are definitely in the works, my main hurdle is that I want to build it physically and address the likely stability issues first. I've been a bit strapped for cash, so that's going to have to wait just a little bit before it's a possibility. Keep an eye out for them though! -

Thanks! I probably won't do Home One (at least for now) but I do plan to build some other Mon Calamari ships like the MC30c. Ya that part will definitely take some adjustment, it's probably the weakest point. I plan to build a physical version to so if I happen to get to it before you do I'll make sure to post my adjustments. -

This is in 1:1250 scale, and I believe the ISD is around 1:1600 scale? So this is a bit too big to be completely accurate when placed next to that, but probably still small enough that it's close enough. -

I actually haven't built that set, that is a very nice technique! I used something similar for this build, though that version definitely looks a bit more stable.
