I finally finished all the ropes going next to the masts. The word in Dutch is "staande wanden", if only I knew the English term. Anyway, here's one of the 3 masts to show what I'm talking about. At this moment around 100m of rope went into the ship and I'm far from finished rigging!

No, you can post reviews right now if you want. The reviewers academy is optional. -
Master eBay Auctions thread - post noteworthy auctions here
Bonaparte replied to interstellar's topic in LEGO Pirates
It's not particularly well build and not very realistic. I wouldn't buy it for the ship, maybe for the parts is the price was much much lower. I'll move this to the MOC subforum as the item on sale is a MOC ship. -
I just loved space in my youth. You've managed to bring all the best of the classic-space sets back to life in this MOC! It's like a classic set on steroids

All I can say is to make sure all cookies are cleaned. You can find the procedures for clearing cookies of all browser-types on this website. Also clicking here (on the main page near the bottom) might do the trick: Afterwards, always restart your browser! Beside this there's nothing I could think of to solve login problems. I'm a lot on EBs with many PC's using different browsers (IE and Firefox) and never have any problems. -
Interesting technique for the wall, thanks for sharing the magic behind it! I wished I could better see how the skeleton on the wall is constructed. Hard to see all details with the white background. Again you've made a creation worthy of your reputation!

I love this decal! Do you plan to share the design? It's not easy applying a decal like this one on a minifig. I know from experience it takes a lot of patience. And the Hornblower movie is a true piece of art. It's part of my DVD collection together with the Hornblower series. -
This is so funny If not the best, then this will be for sure the funniest entry!

It's a special day when our popular ambassador is celebrating his Birthday! Happy B-day to the one and only real CopMike!

I use Pritt, it can be removed without a trace, even after many years.

Nice scene's Mr. Broadside, very much alive! You could improve the pics by using a clean white background (some sheets) and make sure the camera is properly focused for each picture.

Those candles are brilliant. I don't think I've ever seen those before. Your invention oo7?

Nice and informative interview. Once more I enjoyed reading.

Congrats with these nice gifts for your B-day! We do have a review of the Shipwreck Hideout. But feel free to make another one. We like more reviews of the same set.

Sometimes I just love to bump an old thread, especially when it contains the most formidable ships. There don't exist many 3 deckers on standard hull, so this might be the only one. A possible improvement could be to bring some 'curve' in the side of the ship. But even as it is, this broadside look amazing. Run and hide pirates :pir-skull:

Probably, but by doing that they became more expensive, so the value of my army went up

That's a fine and spooky looking ship you've made! It looks like is has sunk and rested in the dark depths of the ocean for years until it was brought back by the evil spirits running the ship. I like everything about it, the bow could be made a bit longer if you ever give the ship a revision.

If you are talking about the comic from CGH, probably not. Thanks Kinzcove, or was it Revolutionary, or Napoleon, now wait, it's Sir Wellington now

For sure this won't be our last project. It was really relaxing working on the ship together, nice way to recuperate from a though night with too much beers :-) Yes, the rudder is something I've seen on your ship. As a matter of fact, I've used a lot of stuff I've seen all around and which I liked on this ship. I'll need to give lost of credits once I post the final result The title Prince of Wales is timeless and I don't particularly associate with the current Prince of Wales. Rather the opposite

Sure, that's more than enough. Welcome! -
The sails are made from white sheets which have been in a bath of coffee and tea for getting the desired color. I made them once myself for my previous ship (L'Orient), but the ones for the HMS Prince of Wales are a gift from Captain Green Hair.

That's good enough! Especially since you plan to get the 3rd one soon. I'll grant you access. Welcome in our academy -
I've blurred that picture a bit so we don't reveal too much of my top secret project But for those who asked, it will be an English ship-of-the-line with a traditional black and yellow color scheme. About the rigging, I must say I was lucky finding the right rope. It's the same material as was used on these ships in real life (dutch name: Vlas). This evening I was able to make some good progress with the rigging. I expect phase to be finished in 7 to 14 days. Once that's done I'll start working on the sails.

Yes, I'm still building with Lego and not only talking about Lego on Eurobricks. Last year at the end of October I started a project which later got the name "HMS Prince of Wales". For a period of 5 months I've been building and still the project is work in progress. However, I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel so I'll share some teaser pics of the project. This weekend my friends Captain Green Hair, Errorist and Zorro came over to my place and we had some good fun working together on the ship. During this project the Captain has been my adviser and without him I wouldn't be halve this happy with the looks of my MOC. But more on that when the ship is ready for the public. Here we have the good Captain working on the sails. My ungrateful self is behind him, ready to whip the lad to make him work faster. Faster you lazy dog!!! And this is the real CGH @work making a sail for the ship: Myself and CGH side by side on a platform in a mast of the ship. Rigging is still ongoing! And the final picture shows both Errorist and CGH. If you come closer to your screen you might see a glimpse of the ship through the fog. To be continued... EDIT Bonaparte: I finally finished all the ropes going next to the masts. The word in Dutch is "staande wanden", if only I knew the English term. Anyway, here's one of the 3 masts to show what I'm talking about. At this moment around 100m of rope went into the ship and I'm far from finished rigging!
