  1. I had always wanted this set, but never bought it. I still like it today as much I did 15 years ago.
  2. Excellent final product!
  3. Wow. The shot of it next to the Pet Shop really shows how tall it is. Very cool.
  4. That is one fine mini modular. Great job!
  5. Hello everyone. I'm happy to show off my new modular. I'm hoping to start building more frequently now that I have gotten my hands on some bricks. Outside, our happy homeowner is roasting a weenie on the grill. Unfortunately, our homeowner becomes angry when he finds a surprise waiting for him in the bathroom. Who could have done it? The dog is busy in the kitchen, and doesn't know how to use a toilet... What's this? A group of strangers on the second floor having a dance party? Our irritated homeowner heads upstairs to the bedroom to find the poopetrator passed out in his own filth. I hope you enjoyed! C&C always welcome. And find more pics on my flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/71885675@N03/ EDIT: Slight change to the ground floor borders makes a vast improvement IMO.
  6. wooooootles modulars are easily some of my favorites. This is quite a nice homage/tribute!
  7. That looks really fantastic. I'm planning on getting two haunted house so I can display one and build a 16 stud wide modular with the other. I hope mine turns out as good as yours!
  8. Agreed on both points. Withholding ones work just to wait for a contest (e.i. only sharing because you hope to get something out of it, rather than simply share something cool) does indeed seem silly. However, if you show off a MOC that you are really proud of, and the next day, somebody announces a contest, then I would be bummed. Also, regarding the intention of contests to inspire people to build new MOCs. Say you build something many months ago, but have not yet shared it. It seems to go against the spirit of the contest to submit something "old." I think, at least to some extent, the contest itself should be the reason for building the MOC.
  9. That's pretty much what I thought the general consensus was. Thanks to whoever moved this topic to the correct forum.
  10. I know every contest is a little different, but I'm wondering what the normal procedure is for submitting new vs old MOCs. And what constitutes "new?" I finally got my hands on some LEGOs since moving to Taiwan (so expensive here!) and have started some MOCs. I have a building that's exterior is 90% finished but the interior hasn't been started yet. It's going to be awhile before I get my hands on the parts I need to finish. I'd like to post the "unfinished" version for all to see . If a contest comes along and I want to submit this MOC, would a small exterior MOD and a furnished interior make it "new" enough? I realize it's a difficult question to answer and each case will be a little different, but I'm interested in everyone's opinions!

  14. Cute!
  15. Love the building. Hate the figures. I think it would be best to remove the three or four most generic figs and drop the price by $10.00.
  16. My new favorite?!? My head is spinning from all of the gorgeous buildings in this contest. Very beautiful work.
  17. Agreed 100% about the ground floor. I think the dark red roofing found on the Creator Log Cabin would be perfect.
  18. Wow, this is one of my favorite entries thus far. I can't wait to attempt a similar style building. I also think that the interior ground floor could use some tiling, but that is the only change I would make. I never cared for the Medieval/Tudor style buildings until now. Great, great job. I don't see a picture of it with the official LEGO modular buildings!
  19. Excellent work redhead1982! I'm a big fan of everything you've done so far.
  20. I suppose it's true that buildings of different heights can look good next to each other, but if you were to put a park next to an official LEGO modular building, then at the very least the modular should be modded so that the side facing the park has some windows or character of some sort.
  21. Very creative! Props to you sir.
  22. With the Modular Madness competition going on, I am seeing a lot more single story builds (mainly the "Parks" category). I'm quite fond of many of these single story builds; the MOC: recycling center is a recent favorite of mine. However, while many of these builds look spectacular on their own, they look terribly out of place when sitting next to something like the Town Hall, or even the Pet Shop which isn't even that tall. Do you think a single story building, such as a park, can be incorporated into the same street as the official modular buildings? Or do you think single story builds need to stay with other single story builds?
  23. I just saw a new LEGO Creator house at the mall down the street. It's not up on the LEGO website yet, but it's a beach house and has lots of sky blue/baby blue bricks! Anyone else seen it or purchased it?
  24. I think it's definitely going to be a Chalet/Warming House. Our local Chalet/Warming House serves hot chocolate and coffee, and has both a sledding hill and an ice rink. I doubt LEGO would include a big bulky hill with their set, but I'm certain they will include a sleigh sooner or later. My bet is Chalet + sleigh.
