  1. I have gotten most of my LEGO from garage sale postings off from craigslist. I wrote a program that emails all new postings and ask them if they have any LEGO at their sale. I hear back about 1/2 the time, once or twice a week I will get a yes. And a yes is usually LEGO at a very good price.
  2. This week it's buy one get one %50.* *in store only, excludes star-wars.
  3. Where do you get the tiles with letters?
  4. Good for you! I have four 3'X3'X2.5' boxes full of garage sale finds to sort thought. I need only 20-30 hours and some more 3 Drawer Clearview Storage Units. I have around 20 storage units now, I have room for another 20, then I need to stop buying LEGO! I very much like the 3 Drawer Clearview Storage Units. They are transparent enough to see the LEOG, they cloudy enough to not scratch or show dirt. The drawers also come out easily without tipping the drawers and spilling blocks. EDIT: I need intervention, I just bought more.
  5. Is this event kid friendly? I have an 8 and 7 year old I would like to bring. What days are the best to come with/without kids? EDIT: I Just purchased tickets. My family of 7 will be attending. BrickFair Invoice for Order #1502 Is there anyway I could get in on Thursday or Friday without having a display?
  6. U.S. TRU is having a buy one get one %50 off tomorrow! This is in store, and 1 per customer with coupon. http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/media/trus/062310_Cp_RRU_MSD_V1.pdf * City Only!
  7. I collapse one box for each set and store in the attic. If you have the space, why not?
  8. Have you been able to get a box of 1x2 bricks? These are my biggest need right now. They are $0.15 a block at lego.com! I figure that a box would hold around 2000-3000 bricks, that comes out to around $0.03 a brick. The LEGO store closest to me is all out of light grey. I am not one to be patient, I am so close to clicking Purchase on bl. Thanks for the advice guys.
  9. If you live in the DC area, this is a lot of LEGO: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/tag/1794013904.html . I would buy it myself, but I do not have the funds at this time.
  10. Done. Income would have been interesting.
  11. The above ending up containing the following sets. I will me selling the Typhoon vs. T-Rex, the rest are going to be broken down for parts. btw., the 20004-1: BrickMaster - Indiana Jones set is one of the nicest jeeps I have seen. 7998-1: Heavy Hauler http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7998-1 8154-1: Brick Street Customs http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8154-1 7477-1: T-1 Typhoon vs. T-Rex http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=7477-1 7744-1: Police Headquarters http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=7744-1 4490-1: Republic Gunship http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=4490-1 20007-1: Republic Attack Cruiser http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=20007-1 20004-1: BrickMaster - Indiana Jones http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=20004-1 20008-1: Brick Master - Creator http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=20008-1 20011-1: Brick Master - Creator http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=20011-1 20014-1: 4x4 Dynamo http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=20014-1
  12. What about the $70 boxes at your local LEGO store. Is that a better value than bl?
  13. About a year ago I got my 30 year old LEGO out for my kids to play with. I fell back into love with the block. Now a year later I have accumulated around 400lbs of blocks via garage sales and such. The kids and I have been building Star Wars sets, and MOC’ing a few modular buildings. We all are enjoying out time spend playing with the brick. As a kid I received the Kings Castle (6080) for Christmas one year, great set! I tried and tried to build a realistic castle, I never had the blocks. Now that I have more funds, and means, I want to get into building castles once again. This time I hope to accomplish what I never did as a 12 year old. My question for you guys is how do I acquire enough Light Bluish Gray Bricks? I have found bricklink.com has high prices for that color, and the supply is surprisingly short. It would take 3+ stores to get enough 1x2, 1x3, 1,4 and 1x6 blocks. If that is the way to go, so be it. Any advice from the experienced builders?
  14. I agree, throw it in a box and forget about it for a few years, or decades. How are you selling all your LEGO? eBay? Bricklink?
  15. I picked the above up for $75, not a steal, but good value. larger larger
  16. I picked up a used one of those the other day. I am most likely going to try and sell it to get more $ for grey blocks. Does anyone know if that helicopter is LEGO? EDIT: It may be this set? I have not seen this one before!
  17. I am looking for instructions for Set 7261-2 Clone Turbo Tank. Anyone interested in selling?
  18. Do you have a picture of the building technique you used to make those columns? I like the appearance of your over any others I have seen.
  19. bricklink is your best be here! You want a lot of common every day pieces, I can never get enough of these. You could easily get all these form one, maybe two stores.
  20. I would move on that set. It has been out over a year already. I picked up an extra and placed it in the attic just the other day. That is a set I do not want to miss out on having multiple.
  21. I have never been active in a forum that is moderated so ridiculously. You close this topic, because "what if everyone" did a topic like yours. I for one would think that that is a good thing. You guys need to lighten up and let your users has a little freedom. I am not trying to cause a stir, I enjoy this site most of the time. However, this is the third time an moderator has acted immature or in this case unexpectedly merge or closed a topic because of his/her opinion. The mods here generally do a good job, but like I said, lighten up.
  22. Purchase 5/14/2010 I make enough purchases that I thought I would start to document my finds. I picked this up for a total of $100 USD. V-wing Fighter - This is my 5th one of these. TIE Interceptor - This is my 3rd, but you can never have enough of these. Clone Scout Walker - My 4th. Droid Tri-Fighter - This is my second, but the first is mixed in the bulk bin. Jedi Starfighter and Vulture Droid - This is one set I have been trying to get. Clone Turbo Tank - My third one of these. I will most likely sell this to pay for this purchase. Wookiee Attack - A first, but I could care less about this set. TIE Fighter Imperial AT-ST - Any time I can get a new UC set, I will! MT-101 Armoured Drilling Unit
  23. I ended up passing on this one, to much $$. MODS, feel free to delete this, I will document this on my other thread.
  24. TLG will always have an X-Wing of some type on the market, and there is room for improvement. I am anxious to see the next version of this classic ship.
