I really doubt that. Look at the other pics- same colours, same poses, same everything. Tuma has the same pose, but.... compare the green with Gresh's lime green! The only explanation is that it's a different shade! It's very likely IMO. We already saw the return of gold (featured only on 2006) and most notably tan (missing since 2003 as well). It would be nice if the original green came back as well, and in line with the old school colour schemes we're seeing next year (a stark contrast to the dull ones from 2008). Shakar

Oh Makuta..... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Xanxost/...8991-080925.jpg MATA GREEN IS BACK YEAH!!! Shakar

I don't think that topic contained spoilers, it really was just a mess of useless spam (ie "Tell me, was the ending really shocking?", "OMG ure sooooo lucky!!!11!!", "Damn Borders! They told me that BL11 would've arrived today, but when I went there I found NOTHING!", etc...). So they probably deleted it, since it pretty much was a discussion about nothing (and therefore, that stole bandwith). Just my 2 cents. Shakar

Yeah, thought it was something along those lines. So the guy who drew for JOT is the same one who drew that Ignika poster Bink gave to BZP.Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. It feels like 2001 all over again- but with a huge twist. Shakar

Is that pic from the book? And who's the artist? Shakar

Whoa. Shocking yeah, but awesome ending. I'm gonna comment everything, so do not highlight if you don't want to spoil the ending of this Bionicle saga. For the millionth time, freaking awesome! Shakar

I bet it's about Mata Nui. Loneliness Eating me inside It's burning me alive I'm traveling in my mind And flying through a thousand lonely souls that cry in swamps of evil lies We're closer to the truth now Take me home Shakar

YEAH YOURE BACK!!!!111Anyways, I like the new song. And yeah, she is quite hot. The short hair she has now suits her more, don't ya think? Shakar EDIT: Forgot that hair in English is a singular noun. I got mixed up because in Italian it is plural.

Knowing him, he won't raise a finger to kill the Karda Nui ones. I think that their massacre is part of the Plan (think of it- why did he send the best Makuta down there and let them getting screwed up so badly? Right now Mutran is the only one who is a full powered and healthy Makuta). Of course, once he has become the universe itself he will have no problems in getting rid of the other inferior Makuta. Everybody's just a puppet to his eyes.Shakar

Well, it was fun at the beginning, but now it's really annoying. Rather than weird jokes I'd read some good discussion. His account seems like it's been hacked. Shakar

Whoa Zaktan. What the hell are you doing? With all due respect, you're becoming really annoying.

Props for the silhouettes. I eagerly await for the real MOCs. Shakar

Yes, because everyone moved to this period's hottest Bionicle topic: the Bionicle 2009 discussion. The game is pretty cool, yes. Shakar

Good find guys! But I noticed something in the image that could be big. Look! It can't be a coincidence. Shakar

Edited the first post with more interesting stuff. Notice how he says that "changing size would not make sense for him". That implies that being huge is, well, important for his job... Shakar

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Shakar replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh, Bionicle is far, far better.Yes, the colour scheme is one of the most megablocked up ones I ever seen. I had high hopes for this line, but...ugh. Shakar -
If there were these huge $40+ (don't forget that this is Rockoh's price) sets, then fine. But please, no vehicles. This year is chock full of'em, and they are making me sick. Huge Rahi, are what Bionicle needs.Great drawings, Antrozek. Shakar Fixed the name, Antrozek.

Hehe, yeah. You guys think that the "Matoran" have Av Matoran heads? Shakar
-
Well, they never used the Metrutoran torso in a canister set. They could use the big megablocking Av Matoran torso instead, the one found in Kirop, Gavla and Photok and Bitil I mean. Oh, and the arms would be assymetrical, like Hewkii Mahri. And he would be loaded with silver, like the sets you love. The scary thing is that beside the Metru torso they are perfectly able to produce what we suggested. Shakar
-
You forgot the red 2 + axles. Also, he needs to be dark bley and silver. And the Piraka torso would be backwards, of course.Shakar

Harhar. You think Lego includes two gals in a group of six? Heck, it's a miracle that we had Gorast this year (Earlier in the year, before we even knew the names of the Mistika sets, Greg said "female Makuta is in summer. Yes, I won that argument."). Maybe Tarix is a lady, certainly she would be more feminine than Gali Mistika. On the "Matoran"...what if they act as sort of squires to the canister sets? I would really like Mata Nui to be tan or dark tan. Or...what about ALL GOLD? Imagine the MOCing potential.... *drools* Shakar

Oh Megablocks, the pics got removed. Jinzo's idea seems quite good- to those who saved the pics, try to upload'em on Flickr. Shakar

But how much do you know about the story to actually tell if they're Matoran and Toa or not? Nothing. Ok, we're getting Mata Nui in summer so they most likely aren't Toa. Either way, I used Matoran just for convention, and I never called the humanoid canister guys Toa, I said Toa like. It's very much different. And I agree MN should be tan, after all, isn't he colossus made of rock? You are right. I think that the main reason everybody compares these to the KK hands simply is that they are the closest thing to the new Bionicle hands Lego produced. Basically, the two are the sole pieces that look like proper human fists, so a comparison between them made by the fandom is inevitable. I really doubt that 2009 sets are going to drop this formula. Greg once said that the idea to release villains and heroes at once came from the toy sellers. These three guys look like some pretty convincing heroes if you ask me. Come on, don't tell me that you forgot Kongu Inika..one of the most evil and psycho looking Bionicle sets ever produced by Lego.Shakar

OMG! I'm so glad that I'm skipping the 2008 summer sets. These 2009 sets are awesome! The thing that made me dislike 2008 was the lack of colours. It was fine, dare I say perfect, with the mostly black Makuta. It worked well with Onua, because black, dark grey/bley and silver are his colours after all. But seeing all the Toa grey/silver and main colour was depressing. But I am SO happy that colourful sets are returning next year! Dark green and lime, white-dark blue-light blue, dark blue (or is it bright Mata blue?) and gold (gold Inika parts hooray! Not to mention gold has ACTUALLY returned after two freaking years of absence!), dark red and orange, return of tan..... Colourful sets are real Bionicle ones for me! The sets themselves look wicked. Skrall is downright cool and demonic, and the detailed printed shield is great, not to mention the excellent black Kalmah armour. Gresh looks awesome, not to mention all the new lime pieces. Tarix of them all seems the weak point, though the gold pieces save him. Strakk also looks very good, looks like a powered up Thok IMO. Volox marks the return of tan! Paired up with best colour possible for it: black. Malum reminds of Maxilos, mostly for mask, and looks totally badass. The small sets seem to follow the Av Matoran formula, both in the design and the peculiarity to look like chibified versions of their canister sets counterparts. I'm not sure if I'll buy them, I regretted buying the Av Matoran because the only interesting things about them were the cool masks. Some parts are quite nice however. Atakus has those really cool weapons and has a nice mask. Raanu has a cool mask, dark red twin cutters and...Keet yellow Toa feet? If Badass Malum's parts are in yellow, logic would tell that Raanu has them in that colour too. I really like Tarduk, he reminds me of Zaktan for some reason. Also, I like the lime Mahri knives. Nothing mind blowing about him/her, except for...TAHU OLDA SWORD IN MATA BLUE! I can't believe they actually made it! Metus's snowflake shield is just beautiful, the rest of him is really bland. Zesk is really cool, the head is very creepy. The poses of the big sets are bad, but they look pretty good. Tuma looks cool, but I can't understand why the lime Mantax feet (oh yeah!) on the shoulders are so weakly attached. Anyway, this can be resolved easily. The rest of him looks very nice and he features great recoloured pieces, like the black Brutaka sword.....YES! I wonder what role he has in the story...big boss of the villains, ally to them or brute sidekick like Nocturn? Time will tell. Fero & Skirmix..I suppose Fero is the Matoran and Skirmix is the beast, though Fero reminds me of ferocity and therefore a beast. Anyway, the Matoran guy is nothing special, unless the mask is new, but to me it seems it's the one from Tarduk. The T Rex guy's legs are awful, they definitely need major mods. I think I will like him a lot more once better pics come out. The hole filled Zamor spheres are something I wanted for a long time! I’m glad they made them. I'm not sure how I feel about hands. On one side I think that they are something we needed for a long time. On the other I think they look like they came straight from Knights’ Kingdom. Meh, I’ll get used to them, like with the weird names. One more note. I think they’re following the “3 good guys and 3 bad guys” formula like this year. It’s clear that Gresh, Tarix and Badass Malum are more humanoid/Toa like than Skrall,, Strakk and Vorox who look downright monstrous (Tuma obliviously does too). So the situation will be inverted in summer. Since Mata Nui is most definitely good, that means his main colour will be one of the ones of the three bad guys: white, black, tan/orange/yellow/whatever. 2009 on! Shakar
