  1. So the sets are finally out here but...they only had MMvsSG. The other 4 are coming on Friday. Lol. I was really tempted to get them, but hey, best for last. Has anyone else seen this happening?
  2. It's a very cool idea but I fear each half would be too thin and fragile on its own.
  3. It's 17 sets, but it's a 30 Euro set instead of 10+15. And Summer might be more expensive than the Skellies line. So 2016 might end up being heftier. As for the Kopaka set, I'd like to see something a bit more different than just two sets lumped together in the same box. Something like MMvsSG, with each figure blurring the line a bit would be good. A few more pieces dedicated to Melum so it looks more impressive and a more agile Kopaka, just to change up things a bit.
  4. That would be CCBS, potentially. We just need a larger plethora of recolours and some new bone elements that put a spin on things, like it happened in 2012.
  5. Some speculation on how the story could go (I swear I posted this before, or did I?): Winter: Umarak, a powerful mercenary/servant of Makuta/finds the MoCo and uses it to mind control the elemental Creatures. The Toa break Umarak's spell and free and befriend the Creatures. Summer: enraged, Umarak decides to create his own Creatures by mixing the elements together, birthing evil elemental monsters, the Beasts. The Toa manage to defeat the Beasts. Finale: Umarak, humiliated, decides to go all out by wearing the MoCo himself. Makuta's dormant energy turns him up into a powerful monster, Umarak the Destroyer. The Toa, helped by Ekimu, manage to defeat Umarak, but the Mask manages to reawaken and summon Makuta's spirit. Makuta now has a physical body and swears he'll unleash his most powerful servants to find the Mask of Ultimate Power before Ekimu and the Toa manage to. I do hope the Creatures and the Beasts are sentient, otherwise it'd almost feel like HF 2013-2014. Animals are fun enemies, but they don't do anything for the plot. There's some speculation that Umarak might actually be Makuta since the two names are almost an anagram of eachother. That could work with Makuta revealing himself at the end.
  6. Only thing that makes me doubt about Ketar (..yes, had to look it up. I'm not used to memorize Bionicle names anymore : / ) being a a scorpion is that arachnids -along insects- are always potrayed as villians in Lego themes. If there's some exception you can think of, please correct me. So, I think Ketar is going to be another tradional desert animal, like a kangaroo or an armadillo. And while a kangaroo might be better for Pohatu, I really want to see an armadillo. Shell that turns into a shield for Pohatu?
  7. Good review and photos! A really impressive set, for build, size and parts. I can't wait to reuse his build for a project of mine (lazy I know, but hey, it's a good build). Are these really that overpriced, though? The 4 smaller figures might seem a bit bare bones compared to the 20 Euro Toa, but they're taller than Tahu. 30 Euro Darth Vader is about as tall as 10 year old 25 Euro/20 dollars Brutaka. And Grievous with an additional 5 Euro is way taller and costs as much as Witch Doctor did here. If you factor the license price in, these are a pretty good value for SW sets, Europe didn't even get the usual markup. Maybe USA fans might see these as overpriced, but in Euro? It could've been way worse.
  8. I'd be just content with some colours and/or hints of the Creatures' species, for now. Anyone wonders if all six Toa are going to reuse the gearbox or if some might dare something more experimental like Basher and his function?
  9. B-booster packs? *doki doki* Recoloured 2015 masks would be amazing, but it could be anything, like weapons. It seems to me they're putting in a larger budget and more faith in the theme next year, what with a 20+ Euro set in the first wave (which are usually reserved for Summer), the possibility of a second large set in Summer, and actual names for almost every single set. So I hope this is real. I'd be surprised if the Toa DON'T get new masks at this point. The mask collecting aspect is just as big in G2 as it was in G1 (less so than 2001, but just as much if not more than 2004-2010) and I bet that showing off the new Toa masks is going to be one of the main marketing points for the sets. And they'd feel like half-baked upgrades if they wore their old masks. I would like to see some recolours of the 2015 masks though, silver would be darn perfect for MOCs!If anything, I'm curious to see how they pull off the Creatures' and Beasts' heads. A single head mold for everything would be cheap to say the least. Maybe 2 fairly versatile/generic/customizeable molds (holes for multiple eyes, horns, teeth, beaks, spikes) split among the 6 Creatures and a unique mold for each Beast? Let's try counting 2015: 6 Toa masks+Protector mask+Skull Spider mask+2 Skull masks+MoCr= 11 masks 2016: 6 Toa masks+2 (?) Creatures masks/heads+Umarak's mask+3 Beast masks/heads+MoCo= 13 masks Still feasible, I guess.
  10. ...why is UK Luke the price of Obi Wan is beyond me. Things over here are thankfully a 1:1 conversion, and Luke is 20 Euro like Cody and Jango. He's not on Obi Wan's level, he's just a module taller than Jango and I believe Cody too. Anyway, yeah, they're available. Cool. And the prices are fair. Even better. I guess we'll see them in stores here starting from this/next week, like the Skull Army sets. Some shopping awaits me.
  11. Fair point, but I would say LoSS was added at the end to not break the list of Toa sets. Pretty sure it's the only time they broke the rule like that and I don't see any reason to do it again.
  12. *facepalm* I ended up writing the total number of 2015 sets instead of the Winter wave alone. Still, 17 sets is a bit too much, especially since we're getting the 6 The Force Awakens figures in December/January. 18 constraction sets in one season is huge already as it is. Ekimu comes before the Beasts though, so he's either their size or smaller. I'm betting on him being 15 Euro and the Beasts 20, while Umarak is 30. Slightly more expensive than Summer 2015 (90 Euro vs 105 Euro), but still within the realm of possibilities.
  13. 1)No one thinks Ekimu is a Titan, everyone agrees he's Tahu sized at the very most. As for Umarak, he's the last set on the list and it wouldn't make sense for him to be a 20 Euro figure like Umarak the Hunter. 2)This one is purely speculation, with some story-based guessing/wishful thinking. They're 3 (3 couples of elements?), and Lava and Storm had people immediately thinking about element combinations. 3)Because we already have 18 guaranteed-to-be Winter sets, and 5 sets in Summer would mirror 2015. Granted, I'd be more than happy to get 23 sets and more stuff in Summer, but not even G1 got waves as huge like this. Ninja'd pretty much.
  14. Pure speculation time: Since Umarak the Destroyer might very well be the set the MoCo comes in (I really can't think of another set to include it in), I wonder if it could play out like this. Umarak gets a power up from the Mask but, since it contains Makuta's spirit, he gets possessed and we get Makuta's first physical form. Like a sort of Quirrel/Voldemort dynamic. This way, the set could be vastly different from the Hunter figure in terms of appearence and colours, being closer to Makuta's style than Umarak's. Calling the set Umarak again would be accurate since it's still Umarak's body (and possibly his spirit as well), but it would cover up the plot twist about Makuta's return, a la "Ultimate Dume". Oh and I really hope that the Creatures CAN somehow combine with the Toa, even despite Neckir's bs being bs. I keep thinking about Tahu with a pair of wings or Pohatu with a scorpion tail, that sounded great. And speaking of which, I wonder if we will EVER see those scorpion guys depicted in the statues again?
  15. Don't wanna mini-mod, but I think we're dwelling into story stuff too much now. VBBN said that for now we should use this topic for set discussion only, while story topics go here. But on the sets. I'd be content with Ekimu as a 15 Euro figure since I can always spruce him up a bit if he turns out to be underwhelming- but really, Lewa and Gali were fine, only Pohatu was a bit too bare-bones. The Skull villains are a bit more complicated and I'm not going to discuss them, especially since I haven't got them yet. But the 3 Beasts better be 20 Euro each, I want them to be truly threatening looking. I wonder about their colours, I hope they somehow manage to mix the elemental colours well while still keeping a sense of unity (since I'm assuming they'll share the same origin). And please, no LoSS/Scorpio style sets, just some good looking and poseable figures with a well integrated function like the Masters. Finally, Umarak also better be big, since he's upgrading from a 20 Euro set. A Grievous level of height isn't neccessary, but I'd want him to be close to Darth Vader's size.
  16. Yep I'm sure that's it. Darth Vader is really tall too, towering over Luke who is taller than Tahu and Kulta (since he uses the large torso). Titan sets have shrunk so much in the last years, it seemed a big CCBS set after Witch Doctor wasn't feasible any more. But I believe it was just Lego not believing in HF/Super Heroes/Chima enough. But Star Wars IS Star Wars, so hopefully these are a hit and we get more Titan builds, and in BIONICLE as well- I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Umarak the Destroyer.
  17. That is a good idea. If I remember correctly, episode 1 or 2 said that the Toa were "together, but never one" or something along those lines. Seems like combining elements isn't a good idea, unlike G1.I hope the Beasts have a strong elemental motif and look evil enough. I wonder they could be used as Element Lords..
  18. Aaaaaah silly me. I thought about Storm being Water+AIR.... Yeah, I think that's spot on. Now all 3 element pairs make sense. I wonder what happens- Umarak using the MoCo to control the Creatures/Beasts seems obvious, but how are they fused together?I think Umarak the Destroyer might be the set with the MoCo. It's the largest set since it's the last one on the list. Makes sense for Toa-sized Umarak upgrade himself into a Titan. The set could include Umarak's regular mask and a gold and/or dark coloured MoCo. I don't know because Makuta in his current form shown in episode 13 If this is the Summer sets list, looks like Makuta is getting the G1 treatment, getting his set right at the climax of the story, in 2017. Though if these are Winter sets, I'd be really impressed since we're getting back to the large waves G1 was known for, even if the Summer wave were to be small.
  19. Aah, so I would change up some stuff too. I'd add Ice to Gali's powers, give Air back to Lewa, combine Earth, Stone and Jungle and Metal under the Earth element and give it into Pohatu. An Earth Toa could start with Stone powers only but unlock his other abilities as he develops his powers. Basically making less and more broad elements. Not bad right, but what do Kopaka and Onua get? Light and (non evil) Shadow. That way there would be 3 pairs of opposing elements- Fire/Water, Earth/Air, Shadow/Light.
  20. ..summer sets? More Winter stuff? Storm=water+air, lava=fire+earth. Do the creatures combine together?
  21. I guess I'm disappointed, but that shot of Makuta was awesome. So, so demonic. And look at his shoulders and his red eyes. That is NOT Protector Makuta. Did we just see a preview of his 2016/2017 set?
  22. Of course Star Wars always hogs all the attention, and f*** all the other themes, especially that constraction crap that isn't even real Lego anyway. I don't get why everyone wants elementally coloured weapons. Those are the worst to MOC with AFAIC. Kopaka's white shield was fine because that piece already existed in silver and shields do usually match the warrior's armour colour. But weapons in general should be versatile as possible. I'd rather keep the elemental motif to additional parts you can decorate the weapons with, like the flame pieces and the Bohrok eyes.
  23. That's a good idea about Umarak. If Skull Warrior can afford two weapons at his price point, surely Umarak can too. I just hope his weapons aren't TOO complex, that would take away pieces from his body just like what happened with Fluminox and Fangar last year. Well, he's an hunter so his melee weapon could be a short sword or a spear (possibly recycled from one of the Toa sets), while I can definitely see him reusing the Protector minigun in a new build like Warrior and Ekimu do. I just hope he looks good as the first proper larger villain, Kulta looks cool but I need more meat y'know. I wonder if they'll take any inspiration from Core Hunter.
  24. Yeah, Ekimu starts out with his armour blackened and ruined. Powered up Ekimu is just the gold armoured guy from the set, so no Toa Ekimu at least for now.
  25. Italian web stores talk about a Spetmeber release, so I'd say it's a matter of days for the rest of Europe by now. EDIT: Ah, nobody posted yet. Don't want to bump the topic (it doesn't really need it and it'd be ugly) so I'll edit this post. I tried to rebuild Luke's skeleton and watched the size comparison between him and Darth Vader. Then I compared fake Luke to Brutaka. WOW, Darth Vader is just half a centimeter away from him! Titans are truly back after all, even it they're outside BIONICLE, at least for now.
