  1. reminds me of the time square ball i built for a friends new years eve party- (non lego)
  2. Well as i was a big fan of 8284 naturally i wanted to get 8063. Once i'd built it it wasn't long before i started to upgrade it....... I added pneumatic front and rear lift and auxiliary pneumatic lines for attatchments and trailers, upgraded the engine to I6 and added loads of other little details such as lights, wheel arches, 1 stud longer wheel base, etc etc. I also thought with a couple of extra cylinders in the block it could probably handle doubles!
  3. Looking at the model in photos i realised it was a little too long, so i did a little fettling and came up with something i was happier with. Also the landy is now running a 1:4632 final drive.
  4. The 16t gear with clutch is totally different to the 24t clutch gear in function and application, I don't understand how you could use one in the way you described dluders, without using an old style 1/2 bush to lock it to the axle, and what advantage it would offer over a regular 16t gear?
  5. I've always had a lot of trouble trying to free these springs from their shock bodies. The dual spring idea is good though as it'd give you a tuneable rising spring rate allowing more progressive and controlled suspension movement.
  6. Nice modification, the 2 axle layout makes the model a lot more realistic> I always preferred the b model for this set myself,
  7. Originally the chassis ran 1:5001 gearing and a single xl motor, with reduction only in the axles and a pair of 16t gears in the chassis to drop the drive down underneath the motors. When i put the 2nd motor in and added the (quite heavy) bodywork the 2 16t gears started skipping and grinding themselves to death, I find the newer style gearing less prone to skipping and more durable so i swapped the 2 16t gears to a 12t driving a 20t giving me a final drive of 1:8337. This does make the truck more than a little slow, however i can switch the portal axle gearing to 12:20 to give a final drive of 1:4632 for more speed if needed.
  8. May i present my latest moc, a Land Rover-based truck trialer. Spec- 2xl drive 1:8.337 reduction 4 link suspension Return to centre steering Working Headlights 23 studs wide 1274 grams Brickshelf (when moderated)
  9. wow.. your best yet, state of the art.
  10. Ahhh.... i questioned my first guess of timber crane after i spotted the boom extensions... Steering always presents more of a challenge than drive in my opinion, especially with the constraints in the case of that axle... I was wondering about what your solution could be.
  11. Ah, that's a shame, the unimog was a great moc and very prototypical, That 2nd pic of the scania t with what i presume is a logging crane is a great hint at the direction the scania project is heading.... pneumatics or L.A.s for the crane?
  12. Hey efferman, nice moc, once again! I love the rear suspension. Are there any developments on the "gear crusher" unimog project? Are we gonna see a thread on that any time soon?
  13. the outriggers function nicely in the video through the link......
  14. Nice moc.... i've always liked magnums, as for the angled headlights, more cheese?
