  1. Buggy motors would be unsuitable I feel, the higher rpm of the output would require more gearing down in the transmission which would in turn give the associated losses. My first suggestion would be something strong and simple like sariels simple two speed heavy-duty linear box http://sariel.pl/2011/02/2-speed-heavy-duty-linear-gearbox/ I would question the need for 4 XL motors though, some of the largest competitors in last year's lugpol tt used only 1! With 4 XL motors you'll definately break some gears! This is what 2 xls can do when used with wreckless abandon! truck trial kills parts! by sam2442, on Flickr
  2. I don't mind filling in the survey regardless of whose it is, its an interesting product but I wouldn't mind knowing a little more about the people behind it...
  3. Interesting, filled the survey out. This isn't a Lego product though is it? 4. Haha, your English is pretty good effe, I didn't really explain myself well!
  5. The one on the right definitely looks rounder, the curve continues further down the arch. It also looks better!
  6. It's a shame you haven't got the flex axles for the front wheel arches in black rather than red, other than that, very nice..
  7. Nice build as usual from 2LegoOrNot2Lego, and a nice deviation from his brilliant on highway trucks. What purpose do the tilting tracks serve on the real life example though?
  8. Ohhhh it just got featured on The Brothers Brick!..
  9. This sort of thing will always go on, we need to organise some sort of eurobricks technic secret society who go around dishing out retribution to these goons.
  10. Like I said on YouTube, awesome moc, awesome video. The video really sets it off, this should be frontpaged!...
  11. The 16 speeds + 4 reverse will be achieved through the use of a 4+r gearbox with the output coupled to a 2nd 4 speed box, simple! EDIT- Igor states above that this is the case....
  12. I suspected as much, after all, the truck with no trailer would be a little pointless, it'll look good with the trailer sat on the back..
  13. I'm liking the progress! Are the rear axles your tandem arrangement? I'd say yes to the mud guards. Is there gonna be a trailer then?
  14. Very clever, a much more attractive solution that the previous one, a lot closer to the original.
  15. Great truck, nice model team detail and functionality too! Me too! I think a brick built solution would look a lot better, maybe with pf lights... But still, great model!
  16. Ahhh I thought it could be something to do with grip, those foam tires are also nice and light!
  17. That's pretty fast! Why the old style front wheels instead of four of the same?
  18. That crawler is niceee... Love the tube frame and orange panels! Can't wait to see more video footage!
  19. I've seen it, all the evidence points that way, maybe we'll get some confirmation from the next couple of toy fairs...
  20. The inclusion of diffs surprised me but it the effect of no diffs is quite noticeable on a crawler of this scale, so I could understand the Lego group making this decision. Shouldn't be to hard to recitfy though anyway.. It's looking more and more like the two axle motors are for drive, with the steering going through the mog ball joints perhaps? This would stop the torque from the drive train snapping u joints or CVs lall the time.. The location of the steering racks makes this more plausible, however it goes against the pieces mounted on the front of the axle motors being the return to centre mechanism which had at one point been a theory. But then again they could just be mount pieces like the ones for L.A.s. Whatever the case is, I can't wait to get my hands on some of these new motors!!
  21. Oooh technic competition! Interesting choice of subject matter too, I'll have to see if I can think of something good to build! *scratches head*
  22. I've only seen the shady shot of it from the video posted earlier in this thread so far...
  23. I was only speculating really, I'm still not 100 percent on whether we'll be seeing 2 drive motors and 1 to steer or vice versa but if the central motor does steer then it'd be a relatively easy way to add extra functionality to the model. There are plenty of examples of vehicles which can switch between 2 and 4 wheel steering in real life, and a few of them are offroaders, whether this is or isn't the function of this switch we'll have to wait and see, same with the motors... Oh and from the few glimpses we've seen I think I prefer the look of the b model...
  24. If it is the case that there's 2 drive motors and one for steering perhaps the switch toggles between 2 and 4 wheel steering?
