  1. Is anyone driving over to afolcon from the Bury area on Thursday morning with room for a passenger with a 65l burgen full of technic models? I'd be willing to put to petrol money and if you pick me up I'll even sort you out with a lovely mug of fresh coffee.. I can make it over on the bus and metrolink but it'll be fun at rush hour with a massive backpack so I thought i'd throw an appeal out on here!.... Pm me on here if you can hook a brother up!
  2. The weekends better than nothing dude! See ya there.... Now I'll stop hijacking this thread! Ralph is your green scania with the knuckleboom crane coming? That's probably my favourite out of your models....
  3. That's quite a crowd in dannyboysd40s photo there, I only own the blue fella with the shades on and the black mx style helmet and blue roost plate (now missing somewhere) and a creepy decapitated artic explorer... I'd definately like them to make a return appearance but they belong to a different era of studded technic, there aren't any models built at that scale anymore with the compatible seats...
  4. Nice truck! I look forward to seeing it on Thursday at afolcon! its gonna be cool to meet a few people off the forum there too!
  5. 8868- absolute classic set, probably my all time favourite along with 8110 its natural successor!...
  6. Congratulations to all competitors the contest has generated some great models.. My votes are- 2. -4 points, for the propulsion system. 14. -2 points for the functionality and the form. 1. -1 point for the concept.
  7. It's obviously some sort of April foolery.....
  8. I'm signed up as an exhibitor and attendee!
  9. Ah I knew some people from the technic and modelteam forum were planning on registering so I thought I'd post this topic on technic and model team incase they didn't know the deadline was yesterday!
  10. With an hour to go its looking more and more like I will be the lone representative of eurobricks technic, Oh well.....
  11. Looks like I might be the only one registered!
  12. Hey Technic Fans! Just a reminder that if you wish to register to display your mocs at The Lego Show this year 5-7 May in Manchester TODAY is the deadline! Click through for details- REGISTRATION If you're not already registered sort it out guys!
  13. Next level! Great part usage with the mog ball joints!...
  14. 8288 is an expensive set these days but owning it I would have to say its a fantastic set... I'd love a second one!
  15. Nice! I do have a bit of a weakness for vws
  16. Wow, 2.6kg, that's a lot of grey panels! Maybe additional ballast will not be required! I thought the blade would inhibit sideways motion, would it not be possible to counteract this with differing inputs to the two sets of vanes? eitherway she sails nicely! Also its great the way it now looks like a monohull tug when its in the water...
  17. Nice, if you could squeeze some train weights into the blade the it'd lower the centre of gravity and move it rearwards nicely too.... I'm really interested to see how this affects the control in the next sea trial!
  18. I'm liking the improved house with windows, having watched the video I was going to say what thelonious mentioned regarding adding some sort of keel to the hull to aid control, if you look at the example in the video in your first post it has a large keel/fixed rudder at the rear....
  19. Nice but I can't say I'm 100 percent on the handrail and the deck house, the rail looks a little unprototypical and the house could do with a few portholes, but that's just my opinion and aesthetics... The bridge is nice and I like the extension to the hull, there are a few catamaran hulled tugs about if you google them, although most seem to be American river tugs rather than port or ocean going examples... Edit- oh yeah how many grey panels have you got! Are there any left at Lego direct!
  20. Clever stuff as usual effe! Can't wait to see her sail!
  21. Having done a bit of 3d printing rapid prototyping as part of my degree work I'd have to say there are systems that can handle the definition needed for Lego, they would however be out of reach price wise atm, in the future though who knows! The cad skills required aren't that demanding, though it depends what you want to make!.. you could probably port over files from one of the Lego cad solutions.... While we're at it Lego themselves rapid proto parts before production, I think I saw some photos of 8110 with rapid prototyped parts.
  22. Great crawler Nico, love the chassis and the space frame looking bodywork, it looks nice and light and performs well, like the winch as well! what's it weigh in at? Btw someone mistook my landrover crawler for your jeep the other day on youtube!
