  1. Thanks for the great review. There are some odd things in this advent calendar. The boy with the swords is really stupid- TLG should have done reddish brown swords instead of these. The piano looks like a toy piano, a combination of these two. The naked santa is really strange, but it's a good excuse to bring another white beard. (Maybe it's the Christmas-spirited grandfather before his shower. On the other hand, the crane, the fire truck, the helicopter and the airplane look really good. You can also use them as a mini-scale or micro-scale city. The minifigures are great, esepecially the their torsos. BTW, If you'll remove the chair from the go-cart it'll look like a mini-scale train. I wouldn't buy this set, because I'm Jewish, but the advent calendars are not sold in Israel- maybe TLG will make a LEGO Hanukkah . It's a great set to get ideas for mini-scale vehicles and useful parts (for example, the sausages). Thanks again for the review, DHCP1121.
  2. I second that. I would also like to see another version of the new shark, printed like a great white shark.
  3. I don't buy online.
  4. Can you make a review of the set?
  5. Good luck!
  6. I took picture of the adjustment- I've added to 4x1 plates. Comparison of the higher and the lower thrones: Without Legolas, (Sorry for the bad quality in the first picture) With Legolas:
  7. I'll take picture of it soon, I'll just find the parts. I think 3 would be good. I can take pictures of "instructions" and post them here, if you want.
  8. He is not a king, he's an adventurer. I still didn't decide if he's a paladin or just a normal warrior. Aslan is a great name for him. If TLG will make a Dragon Kingdom King (and I'm sure they will), how will you call it? Pete? lightningtiger, the only gold parts I have are the spyglasses, 1x1 round thingies and jumper plates. (and windows. but I'm not sure these will help), and I have a not-buying-online "policy" Flare, how many 1x4 white plates should I add in your opinion?
  9. It's a throne built especially for the King of the Lion Kingdom from Kingdoms. Legolas (pun intended), my future sigfig and my presenter will show you the throne's function because I don't have the real Lion king. (I'll give you a hint: it spins) (pic=link) Thanks for looking.
  10. Oh, I misunderstood you. You'll probably find most of the double sided heads in the action themes like Atlantis, Exo-Force and Agents.
  11. You can see the sets in which the heads appear- First, click on the head's code (for example, "3626bpb374"). It will lead you to another page, and on it's left side you can see 2 links: "This Part Appears In: 2 Sets (View Them) 1 Minifig (View It)" Click on "view them and it'll lead you to a list of sets which in the specific head appears. If it's not clear, I can post pictures of it.
  12. The "EB Members Title Archive" doesn't work.
  13. In Israel the LEGO sets cost about 2 to 2.5 times the price in USA. Brickbeard's Bounty, a 100$ set, costs in Israel about 730 NIS- 193 USD! And it's online- it's supposed to be cheaper than stores! Being a LEGO enthusiast in Israel is really annoying. BTW, thanks for the comments.
  14. If your looking for more than one head to the same minifig, you can buy the mime collectible minfig that comes with 3 different heads. EDIT: Agent Chase from Agents has a dual-sided head. here's a link to a list with every dual-sided head. Link. (Bricklink)

    Captured

Oh, so that's how quizzes work...
  16. The only LEGO Pirates ship I have is Brickbeard's Bounty, so I have only 2 midsections, and I have a not-buying-online "policy". I am not an expert in ships (this will be my first ship MOC), and I think I won't put this MOC on the internet- I just want to gain a bit of experience in ship-building- I don't care about having an "improper" or impractical-looking ship. By the way, Brickbeard's Bounty had two masts with 2 sails each and only 2 midsections- do you think it is an improper ship? P.S. I've decided to build the ship from 2 of every part listed in the origanl post, but I still want to see how a ship with wall-in-the-back-instead-of-hull-piece thing would look.
  17. I'm building a ship with these hull pieces. Do I have to put this part in the back of the ship? If I don't do so, can I just build a wall and windows (not slopes or brick-built slopes)? My second question: How many mast and sails I have to put in a ship built from: Two one and one ? (All images and links are from Bricklink)
  18. There is a set reviews index for each and every theme. The Castle reviews index can be found here. By the way, I'm having the same "mini" dark ages, mostly because LEGO sets are expensive in Israel. I agree with you. As I wrote in the end of the review, this set is great when combined with other Kingdoms sets- with the jester, for example, you can make the jester's chariot, driven by the minifig with Lion kingdom knight, and raided by the other minifigs in this sets. If you combine it with the wizard set, you can make a dragon knight transporting the wizard and again, two raiding lion-knights. But if you want to buy this set only to combine it with the other Kingdoms sets, you may consider building it from parts of your own, because this set has no parts that doesn't appear in other Kingdoms sets, and if you do not care about the color scheme and the horse helmet, you can build it yourself with no minifigs. I don't know if you care about these things, but many people say that the battle packs have low-quality made-in-China parts.
  19. I've just posted my review for 7949 Prison Carriage Rescue. Can you index it? BTW, I think the index will be more comfortable to read if you'll arrange it by year (putting the older factions higher). P.S. Great work on the index!
  20. I got it from a local toy shop yesterday. Set Name: Prison Carriage Rescue Set Number: 7949 Pieces: 50 Minifigures: 3+horse Theme: Kingdoms Date Released: Summer 2010 Price: 9.99 USD, according to S@H, 90 NIS in Israel- about 23 USD! Resources: S@H, Bricklink, KimT's Review The Box Great Box art in each and every side. I like the "bricks" seen on the right side of the picture. Random Instruction Page Sorry for the bad pictures The black part always look dark bley in the instructions The Bags Although you can't see it here, the horse helmet and the unicorn horn come in a different hard-to-open-because-it's-made-of-annoying-material bag- maybe these are the parts that are made in China. it makes sense- thhe box says that some of the parts are made in China, and the horn is a bit softer than the other pieces. The horse itself comes without a bag, and there is no dreaded sticker sheet- a big relief after a lot of City sets. The Parts Arranged in square(-ish) form: The spare parts will be shown soon. Parts of Interest The wonderful new shields, the 1x1 Cheese Slopes, in pearl gold and in dark green, the plume part and the great parts in the (new?) dark pearl. I didn't do a close-up of the new helmet piece, but KimT did. The Minifigures Three great printed torsos, dark pearl weapon and helmet, new helmet piece and printed armored legs- good addition to every MOC, army or collection. I think that KimT is wrong- he said that the minifig with the red arms belongs to the "Lion" kingdom, and he doesn't have any symbol on his torso- only a chainmail and some belts. Backprints! Double printed face! (And spare parts on the left side). The Build The build is simple and easy- you can build it with no instructions. In fact, you can build it with parts that you have without buying the set (from looking on a picture). An attempt to recreate the scene on the box: Final Thoughts: The rear hatch is really "hideous", as KimT said, but this problem can be fixed easily with replacing the light bley holder with 1x2 grey plate and putting the holder above: If you'll look on the last two pictures, you'll see that the bars prevent the prisoner from sitting properly- he can only stand while pointing to the left or to the right, or as seen in the front sode of the box. Score: Design: 6/10-For the "hideous" hatch that can be fixed with the 1x2 plate and for the bars thing. Build: 5/10-Easy and boring. Parts: 9/10-Great color scheme, unique parts- but some of those are made in China. Minifigures: 3/10- Great printings, backprints, great heads- but many of my other heads cannot connect with the torsos- they just fall off- and my other heads are connecting, but loosely. (I don't know why, but if it was proper, I would give it 11/10) Price: 10/10-I wish I could buy it in 10 USD in Israel, but in Israel it gets 0/10. Total Score: The set I bought gets 23/50, but a proper set bought in the US would get 41. It is (supposed to be) a nice, cheap set with good equipment for minifigs and great minifigures- fun set for kids, but supplementary set for TFOLs and AFOLs- it will probably be good when combined with any other kingdom set (even the one with the jester) Edit: I wrote it as a reply to fred67: (I quoted myself so you'll know when the qoute ends. Bonus: "Bring out your dead! Bring out your dead!" ..."I'm not dead yet!" So, what do you think about this set?
  21. Nice and simple. The second vignette is well built, and looks like a part of a bigger MOC.
  22. They will use The Force... Nice MOC!
  23. I don't know which set I should buy: 7642 King's Castle Or 10193 Medieval Market Village I think that Medieval Market Village is better, if you look on the number of the parts- it has 1565 parts, and King's Castle has 890 parts. Both of the sets have unique minifigures, and great parts: In King's Castle: the weapons (especially the Chrome Gold sword), the crown, the catapult and the horse accessories. In Medieval Market Village: the turkey, the Pearl Gold plate, the dark brown parts and the dark green "leaves". Help?
  24. Can you index my MOC "Gramophone"?
