  1. My signature is updated! And in the need of a good photoshop user......
  2. Ryan, we meet again! And how pleasant it is to do so. Welcome to Eurobricks, it's nice to have you here! *sweet*
  3. Er yes, Ive 'eard of the festivities, but it be not nothin' of me own interest. Yer certainly gonna be a real 'appy fella to reach dry land after a month er so in this madness. Not even to mention yer be lucky to remain in such good spirits after the passing of the first week 'ere.
  4. Yar, that be I. You seem like a decent enough lad, what be yer destination across the mighty Atlantic?
  5. You mindless gits best be ceasein' yer silly babble. The seas be unusually rough and belligerent this evenin
  6. :-D I'm looking forward to my voyage aboard the NCC-1701 Enterpri, I meant, the Sea Ghost, but right now I'm waiting for the avatar I uploaded to appear. X-D Maj and Brickshelf are down yet again, you see......
  7. We have a couple threads on this now. this one being the most recent. From what I understand, the crossed cannon design is a characteristic of a non-shooting cannon sold in the United States while the cannons that lack the design are shooting cannons sold in Europe.
  8. You're very welcome! It would, that is, if it actually looked like a dragon head. The thing looks like a big irregular shaped chunk of rock to me. :-P
  9. Perhaps you should check out our two "Western Set Ideas" threads. http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=9151 http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=6852
  10. Nah, even those look unnatural with their perfect rectangular shape. I think the best bet is the little sprue that you find connecting the four coins when you first open a set. I've saved these myself because they make good gold nougats, perhaps Sir Nadroj has as well. A couple chrome round 1x1 plates or maybe even an oriental dragon head to go along with the sprues would be nice as well.
  11. Another amazing work of art from the great Sir Nadroj! I am particularly interested in the different shafts on the upper part; how are the roves attached? As Asuka pointed out, the sluice is a really nice, an excellent addition to the scenery. And most of all, the colors are wonderful. The tan and dark tan with some added brown create a perfect dry, dusty desert atmosphere. For a first Western MOC, I think it's your best MOC yet! It's a shame Lego doesn't have a trans-tan color; that would make really cool water......And about those miners - they mine already minted coins embedded in the rock? :-D
  12. This sounds interesting - do you mind explaining this a little further, Mr. Shadows? Thank you very much, I haven't realize the rigging has that effect on one's eyes, I just like to have a lot of it for optimal realism. Thanks for pointing this out. Also, I think I like buildings on a boardwalk, it provides it a really nice atmosphere. Amazing? :-$ Cool, Thanks, Lieutenant Colonel! Okay! I don't own a copy of photoshop or anything of the sort, as I mentioned earlier. The image is not digitally edited except for a little cropping. I placed my Royal Navy reference book (slightly ajar so it could stand up) directly behind the Lego bricks to make a background. I bought this twenty-five dollar book two weeks ago at a Borders bookstore using a gift certificate that I originally received as a birthday present and has been laying in a drawer for a year and a half up until the day I removed it two weeks ago. This is because I usually visit my local library and rarely visit book stores. Anything else? :-D The Flickr interface provides me with multiple different sizes of each picture I upload to the website. Perhaps the size deemed "thumbnail" will make a better thumbnail.
  13. Slowly, that sounds pretty good. :) It should be fairly easy to separate them into three sections like such; ~Houses/Haunts (Non-military) note: not haunted houses :-D ~Forts/Outposts (Military) ~Villages/Harbors (Combination) That would be wonderful. I hope my humble suggestions are not giving you too much extra work or causing you to worry. :-$ Thanks again! *sweet* *y*
  14. This is all very intriguing, Mr. Brickster! You did a great job with that poster but I can't help but notice that there is no shadow off starboard hull. ;-) I look forward to your mystery game, definitely count me in!
  15. That works, all the land-based Islander and Armada MOCs would fit well in the land-based MOC index, if they were all there. Right now only a few of them are. So, perhaps Phred might want to convert the rest of them over. *y*
  16. Ahoy there, pirate forum staff! I feel the land-based MOC index needs a little reorganizing to make the layout more comprehensive and easier to use. It seems some of the MOCs are sorted by topographical characteristics (harbor, island) while others are sorted by faction (military, non-military). I think everything should be sorted under the same terms, otherwise you get a military island that should go in two categories. It would be logical to abolish the island catagory and subsequently designate the harbor catagory for MOCs that combine both military and non-military establishments. It would be good to make some other minor other changes as well, as 1b, 3d, and 7b of the military section are really not military related while 1d, 3a, and 3b of the non-military section seem very directly associated with a military of some sort. Also, I believe 1a, 2d, 2e, 4e, 9b, and 9c of the vignette section would best be relocated to the islander index. Thank you for your time and dedication, Nathan
  17. Well that is what you wrote originally, but it seems the lack of punctuation is what confused me, it's like it's only part of sentence. Do you mean to ask "Is the backdrop actually a real, tangible item (as opposed to a picture file)?", or "What item is used for the backdrop?", or "Where did you obtain the item used for that backdrop?" Surely, I'll definitely update this thread as progress is made. :) Unfortunately not, since non-members can only have three folders at one time. But do not worry, in time I will upload all the pictures to Brickshelf.
  18. Thank you, Mr. Phred. How did I use a backdrop........? I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean here. Great, thanks a bunch! *y* Although perhaps you should keep in mind this is still only a WIP. :-P The Cafe Corner isn't a jail, it's just a single facade to cover up the back of the Arkham Asylum. It's like a second building facing the cobblestone street, just not as wide. ;-)
  19. Thank you, I also think it worked out pretty well. I don't have photoshop, you see. :) Well, however nice a solid, uniform color scheme may be, I have to say when building a large village it's just not appropriate. The village is not a terraced housing development and therefore is bound to have different colors and styles from building to building.... ;-) Thank you, Captain! I'm glad you like it.
  20. Yeah, the ships are fairly battered. X-D and there's a shinny little toad! I could, if I had some good bricks to make some vines. I think a seaweed piece placed upside-down would not look too good and it would seem as if the fortress was in disrepair..... Yeah, that's why I like "POTC inspired". ;-) Sooner or later I might just rename it to "Colonial British Harbor".... I hope to gradually expand it further. Alter that white tower, perhaps buy another blue baseplate or two. Thank you!
  21. Thanks, Commander Scouts. I'll have to think about altering the CC facade into something less architecturally contemporary. I'm not exactly sure how I would do so, I'm sorry to say. Ahh, it seems I forgot to include that in one of the pictures. It's just a simple brick wall. :) Thank you, Captain! It's good to know it serves as an accurate representation. *y* That's very kind of you, thanks, Emperor! *y* You're right, that hasn't occurred to me before. Foliage is not a option since the tower extends over the cliff, but I could add some sort of cornice like instructed here.
  22. Wow! That's very true, thanks for pointing that out! *y* I'm glad you appreciate this, I hope to continue to expand upon it in the future.
  23. Yes, I always try too add as much small detail as I can, no matter how unnecessary. *sweet* I hope I can get to making another stone base for a second boom, and perhaps lengthening both as well. This would make Captain Sparrow
  24. Ahoy there, folks! Here
