I'd like to apologize for the late reply, first off. :-$ Secondly, I'd like to thank you for your kind response, I appreciate it very much! *sweet* *y*

And there's more pictures here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=254553&n=140

You are certainly welcome, Mr. Phred, I'm glad I could help! *sweet* I could take another clearer picture of the lantern too, if it strikes Mr. Phred's fancy. Perhaps this bayonet would also make a worthy addition to the index. :)

The dark orange is definitely a little more rare. You can get the exact details from the Bricklink page I posted earlier; Across from place where "Dark Orange" is written there are a couple numbers, the first indicates the amount of separate, unique pieces ever made in that color and the second lists the amount of sets that contain pieces in the color. :)

I did notice those watermarks, but they're so hard to read I don't see the point in them being there....Anway, here's what I see in the set - - Indy - Belloq - One skeleton - One Hovitos - (obviously) a pilot for the water biplane - Alfred Molina dodging the spears near the right side of the box and it does look like he has black hair, tan top, and white trousers. If this is accurate, Molina and Harrison will be the only people who have two different Lego minifigures modeled after them. :-D Haha, Vader's right. I do see a classic Lego chest now, possibly pearl gold in color. Although it would be nice to have one in gold, I don't really think it will make a good ark. 8-| I like Rev. Brendan Smith's (although a little big) or Mike Crowley's better.

I think if there ever was one strapped on like that it would make a good emergency defense vehicle...... :-P I know, isn't it hilarious? X-D But if you think about it, which do you think you would rather prefer; the armies of darknesh marching the face of the earth for all eternity or a little bushwhacking though an old stone wall? ;-)
-
And the crappy little watchtower to explode. :-D I believe that scene's from The Last Crusade, my friend. ;-) That has always seemed strange to me. X-D http://irregularwebcomic.net/69.html

Yes, Sir Nadroj beat me to it. I got the torso in one of those wonderful minifigure PaB's that stretched across our nation but are now apparently gone forever.... Anyway, thanks for the compliments guys! Oh, I seem to have used that torso in my POTC chess set as well.

The official Lego rubber band works out pretty nicely!

Lovely. Thank you very much for these, Sam! *wub* I'm really glad to see that the truck seems to be made with one of those two seater cab pieces from the old adventurers line. I'm also hoping that the rainforest temple set contains a white or light grey fedora.....

In fact, the first kind of bayonet to be invented was this exact style of 'plug bayonet', a knife wedged into the guns barrel (and as you can imagine, it was very inefficient and inconvenient having always to remove it and replace it). It wasn't until the early eighteenth century that the 'socket bayonet', a blade which was clamped to the side of the barrel, was invented. *y* This is the first solution that comes to my mind, second being a technic axle joiner. Maybe I'll take a picture or two of both solutions and post them here sometime..... Edit: Disregard that, the technic axle connector doesn't look nearly as good as the rubber band. And that M3&@8!0ck$ piece looks even more crappy than that.

I agree that it is moving very fast. I've been very busy lately and I have barely found as much time to post as other people have. That aside, it's alot of fun....heh heh heh........

The movie's title is officially confirmed!

Egad!! Well that there is bein' er El Hombre Pez if I ever saw one! There's no mistakin' it! I told ye all, but none 'o you mindless swab 'ad listened! Der local fishermen 'o Lierganes says it to be an amphibian human-looking beast taht be it, that be it! When Mr. Francisco de la Vega Casar disappeared while he was 'a swimmin' and Six years later, he was recovered by some Cadiz fishermen, and his body was covered in thick scales 'o fish! And after der nine years 'o livin' underground he disappeared to roam der seas forever, but they say nothin' was ever 'eard 'o him since. He's been here all along! He be the true fate of Mr. Francisco de la Vega Casar! And I will never rest until he is hunted down and destroyed or the such happens to myself! And the savage's remains, no doubt, would be makin' a nice bounty, as well.

Hmmm......it looks like Sir Nadroj and The Brickster have the same technique. ;-) Which isn't exactly new, it's been on Brickshelf for a while. Personally, I think the best bet is a whole lot of these pieces arranged in a circle. That's how this wheel was accomplished -

Ya know, I thought Charon in the boat had what looked very much like the staff, but it's not the staff. Here's another obviously faked picture to prove it -
-
Yes, that would look like wood, Mr. Tiber. There are many newer shades of brownish/redish/orange, but the Dark Orange is the most abundant and therefore easiest to work with. You can view a complete list of LEGO colors here.

Interesting, it seems I have missed this topic. Anyway, I would Dark Orange for newly forged copper, myself. I would use the aforementioned Sand Green for old, oxidized copper.
-
Mr. Brickster, that's the most impressive behind the scenes sneak peak yet! You've got a wonderfully pleasant workspace and quite a fine collection of nautical antiquities. It's amost as big as Mr. Mason's! X-D Anyway, I like your barquentine! Thanks for the insider look into the carebear's lair. :'-)
-
Nope, there's no way that this is happening and there's no way that set is real. Old style skeletons all over the place? Two plates hastily stuck together?? Minifigure parts used in construction??? And most of all, Armothe's custom wizard staff?? This is 150% faked. The caption doesn't even match!

The only thing that ever had reached my ear of somethin' 'o dis sort was der whipered stories from local fishermen off the coast 'o Spain. "El Hombre Pez", they be callin' him. Dis monster 'o Lierganes is a sort er mythology of Cantabria, which is bein' located in der north 'o der Spainish nation. El Hombre Pez is said to be an amphibian human-looking beast that had been 'a lurkin' in caves next to der sea. It been spendin' time lyin' in wait fer unsuspecting girls an' devastating coast villages. The legend tells that on St John's Eve, in der year 'o 1763, Mr. Francisco de la Vega Casar, who lived in Lierganes, went to the Bilbao's Ria to take a bath wit' 'is friends. He then disappeared while he was 'a swimmin', and everybody thought he 'ad drowned. Six years later, he was recovered by some Cadiz fishermen, and his body was covered in thick scales 'o fish! After bein' recognized, he had livied underground fer nine years, until he disappeared into the sea forever, bein' distressed with the problems der people caused him. They say nothin' was ever 'eard 'o him since.

Marvelous! It's great to see this magnificent beauty completed with sails. I quite liked the ladder concept, it's a shame you were forced to remove due to the lack of space. Oh well, next ship, I suppose! X-D Oh god no! 8-( Excellent vessel, mate! *y* *y*

First off, I would like to apologize for the late reply. :-$ Yes, now that you mention it I think it does look a little like an aqueduct, except for the windows. Especially because it's so narrow. Thank you, Captain! I try to make a diverse range of colors and styles so the buildings don't look alike. *y*

The Wild, Wild West Building Contest: Discussion Thread
oo7 replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What a fine idea for a contest this is, Sir Nadroj! I assume you are allowed two entries, one for each catagory. I think I could find a good idea or two..... -
It be soundin' like ye all are in the need of a lubbin' Care Bear. I've been seein' one 'o dem around recently.... And ye know, I do have a recollection now of de captain bestowin' some sort 'o cargo manifest upon myself that seemed to be intended to be givin' to Mr. Doohan. I believe I did just that meself, so I would think our Chief Engineer is still bein' in possession o' it to this very moment.
