  1. Your JCB backhoe is really fantastic! I don't believe I've seen a better solution to creating a large rear wheel. In regards to your video, perhaps you could post another one (without music) so that the Europeans can see your creation in action. If folks cannot see the music version, they can revert to the non-music version.
  2. @ PerryMakes: I like looking at Alltop - Top Lego News. Usually, I just flip through Flickr, YouTube, Brickshelf, etc. to find interesting things to post.
  3. These red/grey/blue Lego Technic OPTIMUS PRIMEs are heroes in the "Transformers" movies. The G1 Optimus pair can fully transform from an Autobot to a semi truck, and fire Zamor spheres to defend Earth from the Decepticons! Height of the Optimus in robot mode = 20-1/2 inches; length of the other Optimus in truck mode = 22 inches (67 studs high x 47 studs wide). Designed by Nathan Gibson (transbot9), these Transformers were a collaborative build by him and David Luders (me). This pair won the "Most Heroic" Award at Brickcon 2011 in Seattle, Washington USA. To view the transformation steps, see the at . There are many photos posted on my Flickr photoset.Download the 34-page, 8.9-MB PDF transformation steps (featured in the video) here via MegaUpload SkyDrive. Download the 31.3-MB .WMV video here.
  4. Maybe there will be other 1990s Lego Technic "studded" sets re-released in "studless" form:
  5. Nice model of the Danish State Railway locomotive! I had a problem accessing your .lxf file -- I got a message on the 4shared.com website that said "The file link that you requested is not valid."
  6. I was fortunate to see this wonderful engine at Seattle's Brickcon 2011 convention two weeks ago. It's big -- 35 studs long X 35 studs wide! If this is ever put into a GIANT Lego Technic aircraft, it will be even more awesome! There was a CAR which had a 16-cylinder radial engine -- a 1935 Monaco Trossi:
  7. @ primitiv: You can download an LDD .lxf file for a V8 engine here via MegaUpload SkyDrive. It will save you time and aggravation. If you want to make a V6, V10, or V12 engine, just subtract/add pairs of cylinders in your LDD model.
  8. There are 15 detailed pictures of the Octopod on vantim's Brickshelf gallery. vantim/ vanTim100 is from The Netherlands, but he discussed his Octopod on this Doublebrick website (translated from Russian to English).
  9. On Flickr, nstohlma posted this graph of the "Comparison of availability of 1x2 Inverted 45 Slope bricks to 1x2 Technic Bricks from 1977 through 2011." He used Peeron and Bricklink data. See, those High School statistics courses really are useful! >
  10. What a great combination! Your truck reminds me of the big rigs featured on the TV show "Wrecked", filmed in Chigago:
  11. Have you seen Jurgen Krooshoop's "Small RC Red Racecar"? You may get some good ideas from it.
  12. Maybe it will be a "Log Forwarder", like this John Deere 1010E:
  13. I don't think that the 2012 "Log Transporter" set is merely a small version of the 8258 Crane Truck. I believe that it could really be a "Log Skidder", like the John Deere 548G-III "Grapple Skidder" pictured below. Sometimes TLG's set names are not accurate for the model (recall the "Extreme Cruiser" name for the simple, black SUV Set 8081). If one considers the US$80 8265 Front Loader set from 2009 (which has 1061 pieces), one could add Power Functions to the "B-Model" and morph it into a new Log Skidder/ Log Transporter model:
  14. @ aklego: Welcome to Eurobricks! I see from your YouTube channel that you like building various Lego "whirlygigs". By chance did you display your " " (below) at BrickFest 2009 in Portland, Oregon USA? I remember seeing something like it there. Do you have any photos of it posted anywhere on the net so that we can examine its intricacies? I like your Lego too! You wrote, "This is a LEGO Technic Hyperbolic Paraboloid. It is an example of a ruled surface. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruled_surface for more info":
  15. If you don't yet know about Bricklink , you can easily get all of the needed parts. Use the "Catalog" feature to search for the various "Technic"-type parts.
  16. News Flash! A Lego Technic Octopod is wreaking havoc in town! Are Godzilla and Mothra next?
  17. aklego posted this of a "A LEGO lemniscate linkage. The center of the middle bar traces the lemniscate of Bernoulli [figure-8 pattern]. In the dark shots, the linkage is lit with black light causing the small green disk to fluoresce." You can look at this when you're ready for bed, and dream of infinite Lego creations....
  18. Ha! I like your robot. Perhaps somebody could make a family of robots using the two other types of Lego Rubber Band Holders:
  19. As mentioned on Parda's Technic Delicatessen, Anika Vuurzoon made this of a flying Lego rotor. She wrote, "Do you think it's impossible to make Lego fly? Then you have to watch my "Flying lego"! Without the use of any non-Lego parts I lift Lego up to 5 meters into the air. Enjoy your flight! More info on: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/16939 . Warning: If you want to make something like this too. Make sure you take enough space and protect yourself and others. Bye bye, Anika Vuurzoon"
  20. Very nice! I like how you blended Lego's "Supercar II" and "III" together to produce a modern, rear-engined ultimate machine! Those swirl-type wheels really set it apart. Do you have plans to make a video of it?
  21. Welcome to Eurobricks! Tell your wife that you'll need more shelf space in your home to fit the 8265 and other future sets!
  22. I saw a real VW (similar to the one shown below) at a local car show a few months ago, and I can attest that your model is very close to the real thing!
  23. Wow, Jernej, your Lego Technic Black Wolf is fantastic! I like how he can sit, scratch his back, and "sashay" along the floor. Can the wolf do the "Moonwalk"? I would be most interested in purchasing your LDD instructions (when they are available). I cannot think of a larger, more capable animal walker than your creation!
  24. Welcome to Eurobricks, Victor! I like your Unimog U500 SWB the best.
  25. OK, I added one 8869 "Power Functions Control Switch" (pictured below) to the revised PDF Parts List (available from MegaUpload SkyDrive here). I changed the hyperlink to my original post above too. One will need 485 parts to build the Little Boy Crawler.
