LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
DLuders replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@ Superkalle: Do you know when LDD 5.0 will be released? As I recall, the two previous LDD versions (3.0 and 4.0) were released in October 2009 and October 2010, respectively. Do you expect LDD 5.0 to come soon? -
[Mac] LDD Export options
DLuders replied to Lukas 45's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@ Lukas 45: Are you using all of the available bricks in LDD 4.1.3? Check out this Eurobricks topic about how to unlock them in LDD Extended Mode: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53760 . -
[Mac] LDD Export options
DLuders replied to Lukas 45's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Welcome to Eurobricks! Have you seen this Eurobricks topic about "Simple Animations Using LDD"? -
First, you need to read this Eurobricks topic about how "LDRAW.XML [is] missing in LDD4". You can download the fix. Then, open up your model in LDD4 and do a "File --> Export Model" at the top-left corner of the LDD screen. Use the drop-down menu at the bottom of the next window you see to "Save As Type...LDraw Files (.ldr)."

Minimog
DLuders replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ Zblj: Maybe your "Black Wolf" and Minimog can have a Tug-of-War battle at LegoWorld! @ T_Tank: Can you share the LDD .lxf file of the Minimog's RC version? Here's how to do it: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=58423 . EDIT: T_Tank sent me a message with this link to the MinimogRCmod .lxf file: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/T-Tank/Randomstuff/minimogrcmod.lxf . -

Grohl's Creations
DLuders replied to grohl's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, I would be interested in a photo sequence of the SAAB Viggen's disassembly. There are very few great Lego Technic aircraft, and it would be a shame if it is not recorded for posterity.- 784 replies

If you are in LDD Extended Mode, you can search for the (large) Linear Actuator by typing in "Actuator" at the top-left corner of the LDD Parts Pallette. On this Eurobricks post, Zblj modelled the mini LA and other pneumatic parts that could act as LAs. On this Eurobricks post, hrontos supplied LXFs of retractable LAs.

LDD cannot connect to internet
DLuders replied to little_ghost's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@ little_ghost: Welcome to Eurobricks. Here's something to try on your Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3: 1) Open Lego Digital Designer. Once it tells you that it cannot connect to the Internet, press Cntl-Alt-Delete to get to open your Windows Task Manager. 2) Once in Task Manager, go to the "Processes" tab and find LDD.exe. Right-click on it and look at its "Properties." 3) Once in the "Properties" window, go to the "Compatibility" tab and check-off the box that allows you to "Run this program in compatibility mode for...Windows XP (Service Pack 2)." Press the "Apply" button at the lower-right, then "OK" and back out of the various windows. 4) Close LDD and restart it. If it still doesn't connect to the Internet, then undo the Compatibility Mode steps and hope somebody else here on Eurobricks has a better idea. -
Wow, PerryMakes, your Power Functions and Mindstorms LXFs look great!

On his website, Cypr-21 posted details about his Lego Technic Bugatti Type 21 supercar. It is inspired by the Bugatti Type 41 supercar from 1930. He wrote, "Yes, I called it "Bugatti Type 21″. There is not any mistakes. It is not a reproduction [of the Type 41]; I did not respect the proportions and real mechanics. "The model is mainly black and gray. Black for the main color, light gray to translate chrome. The wheel arches are painted light gray pearl, which gives a shiny appearance to the car. * I respected the shape of the car. * I chose black for three reasons: the first is that this type of car was quite dark, the second is to leave the usual red, and the third is to do a wink for 8880′s fans. "[The] Rear is composed of two panels (black panels from 8275). They make a good shape for this car. "There is the steering of the front axle with the steering wheel. No need to HOG [Hand of God steering]; the handling is good and easy to access. There is a reduction (16/20), then a 8t on a small rack. * Then the propulsion: the rear axle drives the long L8 engine with a 3-speed box as the original model, except that the original was a box bridge and then the box is located near the driver. "Reports are: first speed 12/20, second speed 1, third speed 24 / 8 – 12/20. The model has no suspensions because no place to integrate them. However (and this is probably the weak point of moc) the frame is sufficiently flexible to handle shocks. Finally, the bonnet and the door can be opened. In conclusion, I enjoyed built the car. Far from reaching perfection, I like the model. I hope you enjoy it too." This shows the gearbox controlling the L-O-N-G, motorized inline-8 engine:
