Black Seas Barracuda vs Skull's Eye Schooner
Governor Broadside replied to ukdevilz's topic in LEGO Pirates
Looks like the captain is alone on this one. X-O And what to you mean by Phes' "motivation" for boting for the SES? I'm not voting in this poll or the other one, since I don't have any of those ships... :'-( -
LOL Anyway, there are only 5 different official Islander minifigs http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=M&catID=271 and the only difference between the last two is that one has a quiver... So I guess the only other interesting thing to discuss in this thread is custom islander minifigs.

Yes, which one? Those are names given to characters in this comic Broadside and De Martinet I never read it either before reading this thread either. :-P

Favourite/Least Favourite Pirate Minifig!
Governor Broadside replied to Sting's topic in LEGO Pirates
How can you like the second "minifig"? He doesn't come in any official sets. :-P With the tricorn hats, I always thought it should be flat in the back and point in the front with these imperial figures since it looks a little more formal, at least to me. Also these guys since they don't look like common pirates. I think all other images, at least the small images, of the pirates with the tricorn hat have it flat in front and point in back. -
I like the mountain on the island; is it a volcano? Overall a nice MOC. The ideas for more leaves/vegetation are good. Did pirates ever drink coffee? I can't imagine one saying "We need some barrels of coffee beans for the hangovers we'll have with all this rum." :pirate4: I don't drink it either.

LOL. And I noticed you corrected the mistake in my post when you quoted me... :-$ The "stone banners" that Scouts mentioned, weren't they blue like the water background before? I think I liked them better how they appeared in IE before they were changed. And about the thread icons with the circles around them, what were they before? I can't remember for the life of me. :-|

Favourite/Least Favourite Pirate Minifig!
Governor Broadside replied to Sting's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hmmm... I can't really decide. I was thinking about this guy (too much yellow) but he's not an official minifig. So this is my choice since that's probably my least favorite color combination. -
Favourite/Least Favourite Pirate Minifig!
Governor Broadside replied to Sting's topic in LEGO Pirates
My favorite would have to be the Admiral too. *y* Least favorite... do the 4 Juniors pirates count? Such a hideous face for 4 year olds. |-/ -
The corners on this guy need to be made transparent... And this guy :-| looks as if a seagull just dropped something on his head. X-D

LEGO Islander MOCs - Got one? found one? Post it here
Governor Broadside replied to KAHUKA's topic in Pirate MOCs
Those look great! :islander2: :islander1: The only things I would change are making their legs shorter (especially that islander!), make their feet more square and blocky, make the headgears look more like the Lego parts, and make their hands look more like this guy's The first picture is from misterhobbes gallery http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=181447 The pic is on the fourth page in the gallery, along with one of jonfett in the Legoland Windsor model shop. The lucky little... The second pic is from 007's gallery. -
Question about medival doors
Governor Broadside replied to Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn's topic in LEGO Pirates
My problem is that some of my doors have a tiny gap of a fraction of an inch/millimeter when built correctly and the bricks with the door holders are straight. |-/ -
The one right above with the minifig in the corner is from another person, a castle fan I think.

The last voyage of the HMS Unpredictable
Governor Broadside replied to El Bucanero's topic in LEGO Pirates
At least now I know it's not just me... What's going on? -
Well, yes, but since serdan73 has not said that it isn't him, I still think that picture is of him. :pirate4:

What good is money once you're dead? Try telling that to a pirate... *sweet*

The Red Beard smilie on piratebricks had a bicorn hat and wasn't "bald." X-D Is it just me or does this guy |-/ kind of look like this head? BTW, this code X-O does not make this smilie appear for me. It was working before the new smilies.
-
And two more chrome gold tiles come in 7035 Police HQ http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp...colorID=21&in=S Great ship! Hope the pirates don't find out about it. :-P
-
AFAIK, you make your own mold and inject plastic into it. And thanks for the link oo7.
-
King Leo also got rid of his crow's feet! :-P I'd probably stick to using an eraser to remove printing; I can't help but think that I'd scratch the plastic using a knife.
-
I was just about to ask why we have two smilies of the same head, but I found out that they're different. :pirate2: :pirate3: ^ this guy has a little less stubble than the other one. I really would like an admiral/governor and Redbeard smilies, like the ones back on piratebricks.com. Is there a chance that the admin there might still have it? :-/
-
You must mean this guy That beard was made by Little Armory, but the guy making them has stopped because of some personal problems.
-
The balcony is large and decorative, but a little too colorful. :-X A combination of any two colors he used would probably be much better. The anchor mechanism is pretty well thought out as much as I can tell. The living quarters are nice too. I like the shape of the anchor; very creative. :pirate2:

This is a great MOC finally seeing actual pics of it! *sweet* *y* Being able to look inside the buildings and see the extra detail is great. The interior of the buildings are one of my favorite parts. I know blue baseplates are kind of expensive, but more "water" around it may be a little better. Good job. :pirate3:

Thanks Phes, it's all perfect for me now. :pirate3: Any idea why it was mainly Norro's posts that were causing problems? Three more votes for Imperial Guards since my last post. That guard with yellow epaulettes doesn't come in any sets, like the note on its catalog entry on BL says (it was actually added after I brought it up in the BL forums). That minifig looks too yellow for my tastes.
-
I mentioned in another thread that this problem happens in Firefox, but not in IE (only two browsers I use, and I still only rarely use IE). I don't know why the problem seems to usually happen with Norro's posts, although on the first page of this thread there's big problem with several posts. As for the poll: the color combination of the Imperial Guards always looked better to me than the Imperial Soldiers.
