  1. Last year's Valentine's set (Mailbox) was indeed nice! I wish I would have purchased 4 This year's Ice Cream Cart is nice too, and it gives Friends fans additional pieces they may not have otherwise. I enjoyed building mine yesterday Thanks for the review.
  2. No doubt this will make Bronies happy, or some other MLP fans
  3. OK, thanks Dave I've never done that before -- yet have seen it done and as long as tracks aren't too tricky, the train will still run along smoothly. I guess using a headlight will be out though
  4. As long as there are plenty of 'snow days' The interior classroom details are spot-on! Best of luck!
  5. Would I be able to build the engine around my own 9v train motor?
  6. Every village needs lumber! My favorite part is the planer Best of luck!
  7. Like I have already said elsewhere, I your Segway is spot on
  8. How can I make a reservation to stay at the Lodge? Great idea & great build, as I can totally see it in a Winter Village! My favorite (at first viewing) is the frozen fountain Best of luck!
  9. So glad you did find the time for this review, Pandora! As is standard, your photos are great and review details enlightening. It's always nice you add that inter-action concept at the end which makes me look forward to MOCing with this set even more! Thanks. Doesn't Joanna's hair piece look similar to the new female Engineer in the Horizon Express set?
  10. It's great to see a fully-snow-covered roof (I think I was the only entry like that last year ) and your tile row as jagged is nice. The interior is very detailed for such a tight spot, which is not easy to do, we all know! Love the glass-front frig/cooler Best of luck!
  11. My favorite areas are the green roof with the snow drift shadowed by the chimney, snow drifts near the door, the brass footrail and the chairs Best of Luck to you!
  12. Hi Trijntje, During the SoF this is one of the entries I voted for Just wanted you to know: Plus, I hope since the new LEGO Horizon Express Train has a female Engineer, we'll get more train builds from female fans too!
  13. Very neat idea! We already spend so much on LEGO bricks It's hard to make room for all the fun gear & apparel items too. Great solution!
  14. Like I already said on Flickr -- great MOC! Also reminds me of how much we need a sequel (one of they very few movies which could use a sequel, instead of the 2nd & 3rd of some less-inspiring flicks, if you know what I mean), because I often wonder about those robot parts making their way back to each other via that signal on his head Best of luck in the contest!
  15. The new Ice Cream Stand: Emma's Ice Cream Cart by Renatta_R, on Flickr
  16. The Friends Bricks Blog has the images for the Series 2 Animal packs: Hedgehog Hideaway and Poodle's Little Palace. One set has a pitchfork! Yay, I need one
  17. The station says they are doing a follow-up. I hope they get someone more informed about LEGO than Peggy O -- here is that original "not much building" comment interview on the YouTube channel of that KCET station Where it's easier to access than the station's web site. Also, it amazes me she doesn't seem to comprehend that if the study she cited about "girls without older brothers have less spatial skills" is true -- well, LEGO Friends is certainly going to close a healthy gap in that equation. It's sad to think how she disses the girls who choose LEGO Friends because they relate to the theme. I get it if some people don't like pink (which only comprises 10% of set pieces) or think some sets are too gender-pegging (even though loads of girls do like to go to salons), yet to ignore the benefit of spatial, technology, engineering & math skills gain by girls building these sets is just pure flippant ignorance.
  18. Your creation really made me smile and my first thought was of the TV show "I Love Lucy" and her shenanigans! Do you know what I mean??
  19. Getting around that heart-shaped lake takes various transportation methods and all the entries are all great options for Friends! My votes: 1 - Stephanie's Motorized Monster Truck - TheKingOfBuilding 1 - The Friends Funny Flowers Train - Trijntje (could have been posted in Train Tech forum ;-) 1 - Mia's Pet Grooming Van - ZetoVince 1 - "The Misery Machine" Apocalypse Scooby Doo! - Hammerstein NWC 1 - The Friend Ship - Oky
  20. Considering the flagship set is modular -- all of these entries could easily be a part of Heartlake City My votes: 1 - Marie's Bricklink Office - mordatre 1 - Garden Room - slovakiasteph 2 - Emma's Garden Room - Kristel 1 - Andrea's Bedroom - gurusql
  21. These creative builds show just how easy Friends blend into existing LEGO favorites My votes: 1 - Stephanie's Cool Submersible - TAFOL (Action) 2 - Olivia's Research Lab - cdaimers (Sci-Fi) 1 - Heartlake Tower - ZCerberus 1 - Olivia's Haunting House - Hammerstein NWC
  22. Considering animals are such a key part of Friends -- almost every entry could be a next Friends set My votes: 2 - Mia's Pet Shop - Oky 1 - Mia's Lupo Spa - dr_spock 1 - Heartlake Entomology Laboratory - Ninja Nin 1 - Pet Wash - Leela
  23. Very good blends on all -- it's so hard to choose This has been the most fun contest! My votes: 2 - Baby Rock Monster Nursery - Ninja Nin (Action) 1 - The Stepford Friends - Praiter Yed (Sci-Fi) 1 - Stephanie's Atlantis Explorer - Mr.Brickman (Action) 1 - The Friends Assemble - Oky
  24. Great exclusive insight addition to SoF! At the end of the day, it is irrelevant whether girls influenced society or society (culture, parents, schools, products, etc.) influenced the girls -- what is crucial here is that more girls are building with LEGO bricks than ever before!
  25. When I created the Brick~Busters group more than 3 years ago, there were hundreds of swipes on the creation pages there! Although the reward then was merely an unlockable screensaver, or just anonymous glory -- sometimes there are actual, tangible prizes such as LEGO sets. A recent swipe that was caught had a great winning prize! Over time, the Mods on LEGO.com took swipes down pretty quickly; they became aware of our group. MOC photographs came down easier than LDD creations; there was a mindset at LEGO.com that somehow the digital creations (since they are amendable via the LXF file) are sort of "open source" and not subject to copyright per se. We would recommend to people to never upload the file accompanying the graphic onto the creation pages there. The general policy on LEGO.com is that anything uploaded then belongs to TLG. Of course swipers can obtain files from elsewhere & upload it; that is actually better for the original owner/creator to claim IP theft. Posting the screencaps of the swipes with the swipers name for all to see has been a huge help to make aware the scope of the issue -- as well as help TLG "see" the problem. This documenting by the fans/members of Brick~Busters contributed to LEGO CUUSOO implementing that "Report Project" button. My personal opinion is that watermarks do deter a bit of swiping. Many swipers are too lazy to 'shop' or paint it out. At the very least it helps ID the owner for notification. This entire issue is like walking on eggshells since TLG has pledged huge responsibility 'to' kids. Unfortunately, kids aren't always being monitored by parents and/or they know more about technology than their parents/minders. It's an endless cycle as more kids get online younger & younger. Continuing to combat this is important also because it helps decrease the copycat swipes -- since kids have a keen sense that a creation has been swiped from a more mature fan [site] and they want the same attention that swiper gets. An open invitation to anyone wishing to help document the swiping issue to join Brick~Busters; helping ID the owner of a creation really does take a community of eyes!
