1. Roof tiling is intentionally asymmetrical Glad you like the furniture -- always a fun challenge for style & fit. Hinges do seem to lend a bit more access than modular -- at times. Thanks for enjoying the furniture, I look forward to making more Lime bricks are yummy Thank you for your compliments Maybe since I'm just out of dark ages, I'm not in that "rut" yet Glad you enjoyed looking at it! Some of the furniture was made before the rooms -- building is kinda inspiring like that
2. Blue has so many hues in bricks -- here is a house featuring two: View into Sunroom Bedroom overlooks Sunroom Living Room with sofa, table, floor lamp, chaise, and fireplace -- view into front hallway leading to Sunroom. Blue Hues House - Staircase swings when opening back Sunroom module (series of photos showing that in the set on Flickr) Sunroom with white wicker chair Blue Hues House - Full open Bathroom with Sunken Tub Lime Green & White Kitchen Blue Hues House - Back of house - Kitchen window with windowbox-planter for veggies. Backdoor leads to Flowering Wall Garden with water spritzer, and a white wicker chaise for relaxing outside. Thanks for visiting! More photos (including the staircase swinging out full opening) in the Blue Hues House set. What makes me smile? The flowers & butterflies on the Flowering Wall Garden Do you recognize them?
3. If the kids won't allow cool convertible to be taken apart -- they probably won't want Emma to be painted black ----------------------- Pencil_42: Another great vehicle. Friends seems to have inspired a lot of vehicles
4. Congrats to the winners -- it's always cool to see the one I voted for winning -- let's me know I'm in good company Thanks to EB Staff for hosting this contest!
5. Once again from you, a lovely structure I too would enjoy strolling into IRL as bookstores always draw me in I really enjoy looking at your creations and hunting for the clever & wonderful uses of elements in design you seem to easily apply.
6. Thanks! Yes, I am now seeing a few more people building them too. With summer Friends sets having a seaplane, speedboat, and RV Camper -- a train fits right into Heartlake City
7. Thanks -- I was happy how well "Peter" looks in the Indy hat for sure Agree with you, as I added side trans to extend the windshield (unfortunately, that is the only windshield size I have and using windows tilted didn't work) and although I upsized tires from original, I totally agree mine could use way bigger tires -- especially with extended splash-guards/fenders. I hope to get some of the new Monster Fighters vehicles -- I think there are some bigger tires in that theme. Thanks Indy MOCs always have the colors I like too Thanks! The Indy in the Jungle Master is Peter from Friends theme -- Olivia's House set.
8. Yes, "appearances" can be deceiving -- sorta like boxart Thanks for your compliments!
9. There is the "Flight Nurse" MiniFig (which could also be called Paramedic). ----------- Thanks for the quick review Cwetqo! Seems like a basic Hospital set. I'm sure that Medevac helicopter could easily make it to surrounding cities
10. Oh, I love the word "Lanternier" and the way you've represented one! I always enjoy seeing them do their job in movies set in that period. Interesting job that a person cannot be late for! Your complete vignette's details are just lovely!
11. Hi Walter -- congrats to you! Just wanted to mention the Photo Link to Flickr for JimKeeper's *awesome* MOC is 'broken' as I think there's an extra "http:" in the URL the way it is on your post. Thanks!
12. Wonderful build -- so proper and yet so full of life & fun!
13. Hey, I love your Red Engine! I didn't really even think about the color much as I was too busy enjoying the nice SNOT-work, until I read your description and you mention the lack of other than red parts to build with I actually like how it goes so well with the red wheels!
14. Even more creativity room on 24x24! My Votes: 2) The ski jump in Holmenkollen in Oslo (Sleepyhead) Entry (Build by Cecilie) - 1 Point 5) Battle plans (Celtic Warrior) Entry (Build by kciR) - 1 Point 11) The Fisherman's Surprise (Clockwork Robot) Entry (Build by JackJonespaw) - 1 Point ----------------- Note: The architecture in this category's entries are wonderful and should be expanded into larger MOCs -- hint
15. Hey, I am just now reading this thread, so thanks and I hope my Genie gets more than a bathroom too! LOL I think mine is subliminally meant for a Gene Lamp like in the "I Dream of Genie" TV show -- especially after seeing Peter's entry: 36) Genie Entry (Build by graznador) = Wow! I will have to attempt a more true interior for a Genie some day in a MOC larger than 8x8 ... wonder what the kitchen would look like ... what does a Genie eat anyway? When I first saw your Minotaur tower, I imagined it as a relaxing, yet surprisingly intellectual place to hang out while he waits for the next session of the LEGO Minotaur game to begin
16. So much creativity on 8x8! My Votes: 4) Butcher Entry (Build by Walt) - 1 Point 22) Clockwork Robot Entry (Build by AlexScammer) - 1 Point 36) Genie Entry (Build by graznador) - 1 - Point
17. Thank you -- it is truly an honor to be considered a "chap" in the train section! I had hoped for inspiring girls with my train: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67126 (Hopefully that's the "Friends" train you are referring to ;-) As for the meeting with TLG, their controversy fell quite flat -- you can read about it here to find some comfort (and possibly a chuckle at their suggestions after all that fuss they made) http://feminists-freak-out-over-lego-friends.blogspot.com/p/from-spark-to-whimper.html Also, can't wait to see pics of your Friends train! There are several other fans making them now too -- one will be at a fan event in Australia. I'm looking forward to the Summer wave of sets!
18. Thanks for the thundering compliment! Hopefully Lady Penelope would approve too.
19. Thanks -- maybe you'll be inspired to re-build yours now Yes, the driver is "Friends" Peter, a MiniDoll; and, yes, all MiniFig hair & hats are compatible with any Friends MiniDolls -- as well as all tools! Having them sit and/or be in any LEGO creation is easy Thanks for the compliment! Friends Indy sure does look like Harrison Ford, doesn't he Thanks!
20. Good grief! After all that hoopla, all they suggested to TLG was to add a hospital, a school, or a Town Hall with a female Mayor. What a colossal waste of TLG's time! Hey SPARK, buy the wonderful new Town Hall Astrid designed and build your own female Mayor, duh, that's why its LEGO! What?? ... no suggestion of a female pilot who engineers her own space port while policing the universe and putting out plasma fires?? Huh. And, I do believe there's enough hospitals in the City line, but thanks anyway. Article: http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/girl-power-group-lego-promised-nyc-meeting-article-1.1065035#commentpostform Good to know TLG stuck to their guns. More Friends for us on the way! Yay! Oh, yeah, I told ya TLG already had more female MiniFigs in the works -- before you girls even knew Friends existed.
21. Congrats to all the entries & Winners of prizes! How cool is Eurobricks staff to arrange this? Way! It was really fun viewing all the creations and images of their inspirations in real life -- like a trip around the globe -- united by LEGO bricks
22. The BrickMaster Jungle Cruiser set #20004 got an overhaulin' by me for a LUGNuts challenge on Flickr, so I thought I'd share it here. Adventurers need a bigger Jeep and room for equipment! So I created the Jungle Master: LED HeadLights, tow bar, brush bumper, flood row of fog lights, thicker windshield with wipers, horns, side rearview mirrors, and grip footstep: Professor Jones came straight from teaching at the University and only had time to grab his satchel, whip & hat! More equipment racks, spring-supported seat, adjustable steering wheel, more cargo room, and a fold-down tailgate: Overhead view: More pictures in the Jungle Master set. Thanks for looking over my overhauled creation
23. Too funny! Dana Edell of SPARK is an "off, off" Broadway actress with a non-profit Acting Studio -- so once again, none of these girls have the gender-stereotype-busting choice of careers they feel are so maligned in the Friends theme. Those of us who do or have had the "so-called" non-gender-traditional careers realize that whatever gets more girls building is great! Truth about the petition.
24. Thanks! Well, Cadillac did make US tanks too It's really a lack of pink plates on my part; maybe I will re-build this again someday when pink is merely another color My creation is an updated 2012 version of the 1960 Cadillac pictured here. So, the front is fine and the back is definitely not too long at all. In case you didn't know, when viewing forums, you can look to the right to see "who" posted the creation, so maybe when you see it's me, just pass on by ... until you gain maturity in either biological or intellectual forms. Please be constructive when letting people know what you think of their MOCs. You've been warned before... Thank you.
25. Me too -- the new hair is easy to handle and stays on better, IMHO I also noticed the lack of pink bricks too, in total ratio. Well put! -------------------- Let's take a look at the *real* Stephanie ... no, not the LEGO Friends character, the girl who created the petition against the theme for all its perceived pink & girlishness -- Stephanie Cole. Prepare yourself for hypocrisy in the most privileged way! And the confusion over the message they are attempting to send.
