Book III - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
SkaForHire replied to Kai NRG's topic in Guilds of Historica
I am ashamed to say, I didn't even know that there were two molds. Well, I have been here in spirit and lurked a bit. Waiting for the day I can build my shack in the backyard and finally unpack my lego collection because we don't have any room in the interior of our house. But shacks are expensive, at least ones with insulation, windows, and AC to keep out the Texas heat. :) I have a lot of ideas I want to build that have been stacking up for some time. -

Blue! Just to make it confusing. I think Blue is always on top for me or on the left if hanging. Great build! Great to see you back! -

It turns out that in medieval times, roads often had many names :) I think this was the Oil Road, but I am sure travelers have different names for it! -

This was the point. Safe but slow. Ships are fast but dangerous. Look at the original MRCAs, whole nations' commerce fleets were decimated quite easily. I think we can look at the output of licenses now again, it may be able to be adjusted upwards. -

I think this is fine, considering there will eventually be builds with it. May the sands of Kaliphlin irritate your eyes and grate every crevice of your body. She is impossible to conquer. -

To the Countess Mesabi, Whereas her majesty's government has seen a lasting peace amongst her many followers for years now, it has come to our attention that the WTC has felt erred by her legal representatives at the Mooreton Bay Colony. We have the utmost confidence that the royal representatives that preside over the trial will be fair and just. She urges her faithful servants to allow justice to run its course, but also commands that any condemned man be sent to Belson for execution. She will allow the Grand Court to hear any appeal that is wished. She must remind you that this is a mercy given to her subjects, as this trial should be in the realm of the Admiralty and not performed under civil law. By allowing a civil trial, it is her interest that this incident will serve as an example in this burgeoning new world, that Corlander justice is superior to all of the lesser nations who dare challenge our rightful claim to the Eastern Seas. Know that her justice is merciful, her justice is wise, and her justice may be vengeful. We implore you, as representatives of the crown, to keep company troops on more important missions, such as the subjugation of our enemies and the discovery of new trading commodities in the Eastern Seas. As we speak against one another , our enemies watch, let them not be foolish enough to think we are divided. However, know that our Highest Majesty can be a loving mother as well. She will see that the WTC ship is reunited with the company, despite what the outcome of the trial is. She also wishes that all of her ports be open to all of her subjects without need of force of distress to enter. For Queen and Country, I am humbly your servant, Admiral Woodbrose, rt RN. Minister of the Colonies -

More importantly, as a colony matter, it would go to the minister of the colonies... Admiral Woodbrose. This would not go to the PM. -

There are a lot more places to trade outside the Southern Isles. Also, there is foreign trade. (Looking for some alternatives here) -

IF we need a firm conclusion, that can happen. I can come up with a real challenge that puts the future of Kaliphlin in firm hands. I think there is a consensus that most of the actual members of Kaliphlin are against the DK being the actual ruler? In fact, when we did our challenge, I really thought that the DK would be the afterthought and it would be the First Centurion in this position right now... lol. Anybody who wants to do some story builds for the new challenge, please let me know. Let's make this happen. -

I am still here. I kind of disagree with what has been said about leadership -- this is not BOBS, it has never been a leader heavy experience. Kaliphlin in particular has always been a free hand reign, where everyone adds to the story, with little major direction from the leader. Mostly, I don't think there were any HC supporting ravage, so the last narrative just doesn't make much sense. Dugal for example was much more likely to sit it out, and kill DK patrols in Kaliphlin. Since we don't have a definite time table for Book III, I would not be opposed to a Challenge 2.5.1 -- The Great Settlement! Or a combined build narrative.... Or maybe we play round robin, start with three story threads, each player has two weeks to build, passes to another player, they have two weeks to build and add to the story, we go five or 6 rounds until we have told out the whole of Kaliphlin's peace settlement. What I do not want to do again is a war game hahaha. -
The other sets up the all-inspiring homeward bound journey, where you either are ship wrecked by sirens and have to feed your crew to a cyclops, or you are joined by two dogs and a cat for some crazy hi-jinks. Those are the only two options after an adventure, sorry.

Another reason public accounting to NPCs should not exist. Now, it should be an adventure MRCA to spy out who is paying who. Sounds good to me... you can now buy spies with your armies! [don't take that as new rules, Bregir will have a heart attack] -
