  1. Now taht I see it: it really does seem huge, impressive and lots of fun - but the modules very often do not work as intended so that some one has to "help"....
  2. Very great MOC! The amount of detail and its acczracy is simly stunning and the fact that you added both the remote controlled power functions AND the possibility to work as a GBC module makes this really a creation that stands out of so many others! 2 months of building for that monster is actually rather fast! Bravo!
  3. I did read it! :p Your galleon is looking amazing already and with professionally crafted rigging and sails you might be going to raise the bar for minifig illusion scale to somewhere where I can't follow anymore.

  4. I don't really care since as the sets are announced, they will be released and I'm only looking for new parts, as most MOCers are, which I'll get through Bricklink! But I'm pretty sure there are going to be enough kids begging their parents for PotC sets.
  5. NO! Don't make it even narrower, I love it! You might be right about the historic stuff, but Lego is also about aesthetics. I don't know, but I really have unusual strong positive feelings towards this ship, especially the stern!
  6. Well, first of alL I really have to admit the stern is looking absolutely marvelous. It's very realistic in it's slope and also in being so narrow! The "shields" you added on the sides in both dark red and dark green however are not perfectly convincing IMO. Maybe a checker pattern, preferably red-yellow, as that was most common on Spanish galleons, would work better here. I also am so grateful you have refused to use cheaper reddish brown here. Not only does the old brown look better generally, but it also is the colour of the old prefabs and having two shades of brown looks really weird. The overall impression is wonderful and I am very much in love with the narrow, sloped stern of yours! Even as a WIP it's easily the best Lego galleon I have seen so far and I don't say that easily. Amazing for somebody who used to build only landscapes! I also like your lantern. Very creative use of the technic joint too!
  7. I really do like it and the dark green fir is very interesting and well-built! Maybe there could be some more plants on the dark green grass, but it's really looking very nice! The SNOT tile technique on the house works quite well. And yes, the classic Black Falcons really look great with the new pearl dark grey helmet (awesome colour for weapons).
  8. Welcome to Eurobricks! It's always nice having more members IMO as forums live from participation! What themes are you into?
  9. It's really great there is a photography thread within the historic themes forum too; and I really am a big fan of Fenris and his work. However I think there should be some more participation. The dwarfs in the snow really look nice too, I also like the snow effect. I'm just wondering why one of them carries a musket?
  10. Very interesting teaser! It's really great TLG made the Spartan in there series 2 wave and you're using them very well! It's also very obvious in this MOC that Sparta was a hard, brutal place and hence created the toughest warriors at the time!
  11. Haha, that's a really funny, well-executed neat little MOC! The amount of detail is just great and it's instantly recognizable. Really well done.
  12. Wow, I haven't seen these before! Thanks for sharing! Really, it's a shame none of these made it into a set as some are better than the castles release. I'm also sure people would have bought them. Also the prototype crowns are looking really well.
  13. It's certainly very kind you made this in LDD and also provided the file for parts and instructions! I think this is the way LDD cab best be used as it really plays to it's strengths on MOCs in set scale like this on. I'm not a space police fan, but you've clearly made a major improvement over the set!
  14. I do very much like the classic pirates feel your fort has! It very much looks like the legendary Eldorado Fortress and the ships reminds me of the one from the Imperial Trading post! The new Admiral/Governor also goes quite well with the classic bluecoats. Thanks for sharing and let's hope you'll continue building!
  15. Actually it's great having all these awful fake sets and discussion in one neat thread; and it's great it's still updated! The new clone ship looks far worse than the BSB copy for sure. The Armada figures are ugly too. However the increased amount of minifigures and cheap prices certainly make these sets tempting to some; and I really hope they would be better since a good competition would have a nice influence on TLG and their prices which are insane on some recent Star Wars and licensed sets!
  16. It would be great if they would, but knowing TLG they just won't as long there is any way to avoid stating fan influence. I don't really like that policy; and I also don't like it doesn't say anywhere on the UCS shuttle that it's fan created or based on a fan created MOC (which is better than the set btw), but nobody can really do anything about it and most people don't mind.
  17. Th rock looks really well indeed. I'm not too fond of the water, but it's a very good entry for the JR II contest and it's so much better than the official set for sure. Thanks for bringing this to us! And I also think all these landbased MOCs should be indexed soon.
  18. Wow, that's quite a fierce name you gave your ship, "The Devil's Serpent". The short brickbuild mid has a nice charme to it and I really appreciate how much detail you've added! The playability with the technic mortar is also quite nice. It's also nice to see that custom sails and rigging are getting increasingly popular; and you really did yours well (which is not an easy job!). Maybe the stern coud be a bit more detailed, mostly at the back, but that's just a nitpick.
  19. That is a nice Flickr find indeed! It looks much like the IFS in terms of colours and gunport design and isn't realistic, but it has a nice feel to it! The stern decoration is also quite elaborate. Any chance the builder will join us? Thanks for finding this!
  20. That looks like a very interest MOC indeed; and the amount o detail is really high! The techniques used are not really new or spectacular, but it has a nice feel to it. The story is really weird and brutal too! Thanks for bringing this to us, Admiral! I also don't like editing posts, but you shouldn't worry to much abou it either.
  21. Well, I guess that's quite an enormous monster frigate you're building here! I mean 7 mids and 26 guns on the gundeck is quite huge for a ship on prefabs, so the term "light frigate" is a bit misleading. Your ship is looking quite good so far! Maybe the gunports are too high; at least they are very high even considering the unusual length of your ship, hence I would try lowering them by at least two bricks. I also agree with the Admiral that the reddish brown railing on the topdeck doesn't really look that great. Historically it would have been all black for a ship with the Nelson checker pattern. Maybe making the reddish brown parts black and lowering the lower yellow line would be an improvement. There's also no reason for using slopes there as on the topdeck there would not be much of a tumblehome. The gunports on the topdeck are also looking rather small. Are you planning to use MOC cannons there? I guess that would be the best solution! The technique you are using for lifting up the sides and making the interior accessible is very interesting indeed. I'm also planning to make the sides modular on a current project, but not by using your technique, so no worries!
  22. Wow, I did not even know this set even existed! And Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter is really looking awesome with all that dark red! Also the value for money seems unusually good here. A shame I never saw it on the shelves. Thanks for bringing us this review!
  23. Haha, there are really some good funnies in here! It's great to have such a topic. I especially liked the "dating game"! Thanks for sharing everyone!
  24. Personally, I'd love to see a UCS AT-AT. There are some great MOCs in UCS scale out there, but they don't have strong enough knee joints, so if TLG would release their version they could introduce a new joint part to fix that issue. I'm also pretty sure such a set would sell really well even at the expected high price; and it would be a worthy successor to the UCS Millenium Falcon too!
  25. Quite brutal and a lot of fire! I really like how you've attached a minifigure hand to the end of the small blaster as a shoulder part! Very creative!
