What is favorite LEGO theme? (we need this info to prevent spam)

Star Wars, all the sets I got at Billund (there were a lot, but an example of one would be Kessel Run Millennium Falcon)

Yes, thank you! I do think it looks too old-mannish - perhaps some printing for the hair he did have would have been good. The exposed stud doesn't bother me too much.

Alas, Imgur is blocked in my country. I may buy the piece and try it anyway.

There is but I think it's a little too 'old man-ish' for Picard.

Looks excellent. I really like that Palpatine has a secluded area. Nice work on the doors too.

Largely the new ones. But I dislike the new stormtrooper helmets and the hybrid realistic/animation style print for clone trooper torsos and helmets.

[MOC] Rock Raiders; Mobile HQ
Calanon replied to LegoMathijs's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Love a good Rock Raiders MOC. This feels suitably modernised yet classic. -
That's crazy talk. Where would we be without everything being turned into a side hustle? I completed several digital Star Wars MOCs in the last year which I shared in a group chat. Haven't posted any proper picturers anywhere because I want to make sure they work IRL and I had a few people suggest I put them on Rebrickable. I know it's a compliment but the idea everything has to be on there I just find a little exhausting. It also really frustrates me when some people churn out a lot of digital builds and put the instructions up for sale before checking it really works.

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!
Calanon replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Whilst I don't think the GWP looks very good I think it's rather dishonest of Lego to include a picture with it integrated into the DS hanger on the DS page. I'm still midly disappointed we didn't get more conference room officers and they haven't even bothered with dual moulding. -
Yar and Pulaski would need the earlier uniform and I imagine they wanted consistency. O'Brien would have been a good addition (considering no rank pips probably easy to make) but perhaps if they do well they'll do other ST sets and include him in a DS9 set? Although that's probably me being hopeful since it's less iconic.

I recently ordered a 16x32 dbg baseplate on Bricklink and unfortunately it warped in the post. I've been trying to straighten it out by putting it in hot water and leaving it for a few hours under something heavy but to no success. Yesterday I went to 80C water for about 5 minutes and left it for about 8 hours but the bend's still there. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I could do? Alternatively, I plan on using it for a MILS plate. Does anyone know if it'll be straight with the pieces on top? If so, I may as well just get the pieces I need and not bother with the heat.

Very disappointed in no rank pips. I know it means all officers can be accurate across TNG (well, S3 onwards) but still. I like the look of the set although it's not quite what I imagined I will probably still buy it and make a bridge MOC. I wasn't expecting a full interior but I thought there might be space for a small bridge.

Bricklink and LEGO.com Account Merge
Calanon replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
From the email the merger seems to be more subsuming any BL accounts within Lego accounts since if you don't have a Lego account it'll be deleted. Wonder how many that will happen to. I'm often not a fan of account merges or transfers as things go wrong. -
Are there too many licensed LEGO themes?
Calanon replied to imposter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
And even within LSW when we make the same things people have quite different goals. Brickvault is very popular with their "best version of X EVAR" but many builds are highly fragile with delicate connections. Then you've got someone like BaufmanBricks building in a smaller scale than a lot of people (also, how he scales different sized craft is rather good) and emphasises having functionality over absolute perfect detail. -

Are there too many licensed LEGO themes?
Calanon replied to imposter's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Do they really though? I'm very much into SW and I've seen plenty of people create Star War-sy feeling vehicles that don't exist in SW. That's definitely using imagination and creativity. I don't tend to do that, I try and make vehicles etc from SW but I try to stick close to a specific scale and I very much enjoy the challenge of trying to get something looking good, accurate and in-scale. Is that not its own form of creativity with trying to find ways to best use different pieces?
