Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
CMP replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
I almost forgot how descriptive your battle summaries are. Boomingham's Counterstrike Gloves make him deal 18 damage to the Flail Metasimian. Atramor stares as he advances into the warehouse. More Metasimians. And even more interesting, several seemed to have been the ones he, Nyx, and Rufindel had defeated during the first job for the Town Guard. He blinked, shrugged, and lunged a downward slice at Metasimian (Scroll and Spear) from the front row, using Ratsbane. "Nyx, I recommend that bein' as you're onna our hardest hitters and in the back row, ya' should go for onna the encouraged ones." -
I'm not looking for loopholes, I'm just trying to find the limits on power. And then maybe push them a little bit. Well, WP upgrades and imbuing elements is about as far you can go in weapon enhancement, and they either get too expensive to even think about or you manage to get all the gems, not to mention it's all for naught once a better, unique weapon comes along. I'm just looking for more ways to go about doing so - it's one of the reasons I liked Quest 11 so much, the permanent Venomed weapons and Hollow Blades were seriously cool and useful, and you could add them to any weapon you had on you for the right price. It's also why I like the scroll imbuement bit on artifacts. If someone gets a weapon they really enjoy, there's always going to be a point where you can't really do anything else to it. The Pitchfork of Domination, for example - whoever's lucky enough to get it could enchant it with all the gems they need, but that's really as far as they can go, it's laughable to even think about boosting WP. Having a dozen Rubies in a single weapon would give me a goal to achieve with it is all.
-
If by 'bit of gold' you mean 'rich as Hybros'. But yeah, you and darkdragon do have a point. Back to the Elemental table of Doom, then.
-
Still worth a shot asking.
-
Not at all. An Opal and a Ruby in the same weapon causes x4 damage to Beasts. If the person had another Ruby imbued in it, that'd be x8 to Beasts. Gems aren't common, but I'd like to know if it's possible just in case.
-
I don't know if this has been brought up or answered before, but is it possible to imbue a weapon with the same gem twice?

"Damn it!" grumbles Atramor, turning on his heel and sprinting back to the front of the warehouse. The sounds of combat were already audible from inside...McCafferey was thrown off his shoulder as she ran, but she merely flapped past him and eyed the Metasimian gangsters beadily. -
Hands-down, best Quest banner yet.

Atramor flicks his eyes over the lesser districts of Eubric, a droll, heavy atmosphere hanging due to the thick clouds above the city. He glances at a rather familiar Shadeaux warehouse off to the side, but stops before the smaller, unmarked one, putting his ear to the door and frowning as voices echo from within. He turns his head to the others, muttering quietly. "Sounds like they're plannin' to slip out the back, whoever they are. Maybe half of us should head 'round there so we can flank 'em and keep them from running off? Whatever the hell's going on, I don't think we want whoever's inside to be gettin' away." -
I'm pretty sure Sandy mentioned you weren't able to do that. Right, but I don't think the same item should become too widely available or reused too often. Incarnations of the item in other forms (for example, a Glass Greatsword or a Wand of Decay) could be really interesting, though.

"Versed? I was born to kill rats, mate." Atramor grins, grasping the hilt of Ratsbane. -

"Collect somethin' from a warehouse? Bet they lost the damn Keystone. It's probably got some relation to our mission, dunno if we've got much of a choice." -
Oh. That does make sense.
-
Well, the barbarian advanced class rolls of 4. are usually a lot more effective than a Miss, or even Aim. The Precision Bow, on the other hand, turns those into hits, which are almost always better. Also, Xander went Hunter, he's going to have Aim anyway. Why not use it with a ranged weapon?
-
It's not like I can afford to buy it anymore anyway. I blame VP and Zepher.
-
That's what it is now, but since walking around with a live horse is unrealistic, I'm suggesting the item simply change from an actual Horse to a Horse Summoning Amulet (or as Doc would probably label it, Amulet of Horse Summoning. ) I think it's reasonable, nothing other than the physical appearance of the artifact would change. Or that works.
-
But it makes sense, and the only thing that would change is the look of it. It would still be an accessory artifact with the same stats.
-
That all makes sense, but I still have no idea where to put it. And if it doesn't count as an artifact, what is it? Just an extra...stat boost-thingy? Or does Scuba's idea of a Summoning Amulet work? Similar enough to a statue, and it makes most sense as an artifact, even if it's not as a completely normal living creature.

Intimidating. -
You can blame me for listing it as an artifact, but what else is it supposed to be? I'm pretty sure there's a human broomstick being used as a weapon, a horse as an artifact isn't that bad.
-
pool cue - I thought I was past this. Either from Stash or a ninja title-r.
-
Where the hell's your cloak? I'm glad the torso Atramor used for Witch already had a necklace, would've been tough to Photoshop the real one on. I'll have to use lime green gloves for his expert class picture and just mess with the colors, I don't have any blue ones.

"Hah, ya' look good, Boomin'ham." I think Skrall doesn't get to favor anyone until he rolls a Shield. -
Boomingham looks awesome. But he looks more like an Assassin than a Paladin.

Don't make jokes about that.
