  1. Now we're getting somewhere. This sounds interesting. Can you grab us a quote from him saying as much, Finn?
  2. I'm just listing examples of weird vigs. As to a reason why a compulsive vig wouldn't take him out, well, probably for the same reason you doubt an SK would, he'd have a chance at getting caught. And again when I say claim, I mean through word of mouth or something....in very, very few circumstances do I consider claiming in public a good idea. I must've cut the bit where you doubt the SK targeted him out of your quote. That really just turns into a game of WIFOM between the third killer and the watcher. And, well, if the third killer isn't even willing to target him, that just makes the claim all the more convenient for Wilhalm. Can someone verify/debunk this at some point?? I feel like I'm getting tunnel vision and I don't want to end up distracted from whatever other discussions are flying around.
  3. Damn, I thought you were saying Wilhalm cured the SK. To you, maybe...I'm surprised you can call him a clear-cut townie. Finn, Wary, and Rurik all seemed at least somewhat suspicious of him. All he seemed to be doing yesterday was defend himself. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the vig that killed him.
  4. You missed the important parts of what I said. I said a compulsive vig, a one-shot vig, whatever role could explain why there are three kills instead of two in the case we didn't have an SK, like last time. Obviously if that person was not an SK and is the third killer (they'd know since they wouldn't be a normal vig or the scum killer) it would mean Wilhalm lied about his claim and he's almost sure to be scum. And yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking happened. I said if the town protector did NOT protect Wilhalm to figure out some way to tell us that (I'm not remotely suggesting they do so themselves), since like you say, it's probably the SK targeted him, and if Wilhalm survived that and the town protector's not responsible, it means either a blocker got lucky or Wilhalm is scum and had the scum protector on him. I still am super uneasy about his claim. It's really convenient. Any particular reason you're answering for him? And any particular reason it looks to me like it's contradicting this?
  5. Be careful, Snotra got grilled on Day One for putting unnecessary quotes around stuff.
  6. I know, right?! With all your valuable input, we should be dancing on their corpses right now! I too think axe-killer is our vig. It was probably for the best to get Mist out of the way and it looks like Gofraid got a lot of suspicion yesterday. Plus all of his discussion was really centered around defending himself even though it didn't look like anyone was serious suggesting we lynch him. If that's the case I'll wager the longsword killer is the SK. It occurred to me that if we didn't have an SK our compulsive vig or whoever we have replacing him would've said something yesterday. Since it does seem to be an SK, his target last night was likely Wilhalm. Town protector, if you didn't target Wilhalm last night and have some safe way to relay that to us, that'd be pretty great... Found this buried among yesterday's discussion. I seriously want to hear from Dagstyrr too. I made my suspicion of him known on Day One, and I feel like he only speaks to vote or when someone calls him out on his inactivity.
  7. I also make it a habit to always used the same die. It's knocked out Guts three times and played both the Obsidian Dragon and Jade Kraken. Balancing battles is secondary to having a lethal good die.
  8. At least I use real dice when I roll for battles.
  9. They're going to be killing all the sheep, aren't they? You monsters.
  10. Do you think he'd just leave the incorrect version up there?
  11. "I think I'll revive Guts. I'm better at defending than attacking anyway."
  12. Fate, luck, karma, vengeance, punishment. Take your pick, you homicidal manic.
  13. I think it'd be better if the effect instead caused any damage against the hero for the duration of the next three rounds to ignore half of their defense. So it doesn't really count as Defense Reduction. You know, just in case anyone's immune to that.
  14. Does 'new effect that hasn't shown up quite yet' count as widespread?
  15. We discussed this a while back, but you may want to add it to your item's description since it differs. CJP says it works like Scuba's description, being 5 damage per round. It can removed by being remedied or by being healed to full health, unlike poisoned.
  16. Yeah. And yes, I'll list the immunities in the artifact description, you don't need to rename it if you don't want.
  17. I've never had so much fun writing a battle description. Just so much going on.
  18. MDM, you can't imbue scrolls into shields, so you may want to sort that out first. I missed a few things when finalizing enemy stats. I forgot the Pillager clause where something happens if the hero's out of gold, but that one's really on me, so it'll slide. Sailors deal damage equal to their level on their Special. And I have Bagnav holding a spear in the picture, so I've moved the Warblade drop to Ognar. Round One of Massive Magpie Mix-up >Hoke vs. Pillager A (Darkness) - Damage (50/2 - 31= 0 damage) >Olmstyr vs. Pillager B (Serstyr) - Hit (47/2 = 23 damage) Tesni vs. Bagnav (Faelan) - Deflected Counter (No counter, 100 - 17 = 83 damage Tesni KO'd) Alexandre vs. Viking Whelp H (Blademaster) - Critical Hit (43 damage, Viking Whelp H badly poisoned, Viking Whelp H deals badly poisoned, +1 gold) Guts vs. Viking Sailor D (Lifestealer) - Steal Shield: Ravage (96 x 2 = 192 ice/dark/light damage to all enemies, Whelps KO'd, 435 gold stolen) Guts vs. Bagnav (Lifestealer) - Damage Damage (100 - 7 = 93 damage, Guts KO'd) Thormanil vs. Viking Sailor B (Trident) - Hit (42 damage, Sailor B bleeding) >Benji vs. Viking Whelp A Sailor E (Meduik) - Damage (30/2 - 12 = 3 damage) Jess vs. Viking Whelp C Sailor E (Blodhhurm) - Lethal Aim (14 damage, no assassination, Sailor E poisoned) Alexis vs. Viking Sailor C (Steel Fan) - Hit (55 x 4 = 220 damage) >Dyric vs. Ognar (Requiem) - Lethal Critical Hit Lethal Critical Hit (62 x 2 - 20 = 104 damage) Gocklo vs. Pillager D (Stealthy, Witchbane) - Special Damage: Pillage (No gold) Captain vs. Gombur (Rapier/Flayer) - Riposte (50 damage, Gombur confused and poisoned) >Knife-Tongue vs. Pillager B and Pillager C (Shank/Shiv) - Dual Critical Hit (26/2 = 13 damage to Pillager B, no jinx, 24/2 = 12 damage to Pillager C, no jinx) Zasies vs. Viking Whelp B Sailor E (Spiky Mace) - Special Damage: Man Overboard (30 water-elemental damage, Zasies knocked Overboard) Nerwen vs. Viking Sailor E (Mourning Star) - Hit (33 damage, Sailor E fragile) Haldor vs. Viking Sailor A (Dualis) - Meditate (No effect) Bagnav vs. Hoke - (100/2 - 31 = 19 damage) Gombur poisoned - (1 damage) Sailor E poisoned and fragile - (2 damage) Sailor B bleeding - (5 damage) Warlord - Sailor F summoned The battle begins explosively. The vikings throw themselves violently against the hero's (thanks to Hoke) considerable defenses. The Mystic Knight leads Olmstyr, Gocklo, and Knife-Tongue, an unlikely group, against the vicious pillagers. Alexandre forces the clean-shaven whelps backwards, as Jess, Benji, Nerwen, and Zasies team up on one of the sailors. He receives a cut and a gash from the first and third, but Benji's just in time to duck beneath his axe, taking only a slice across the scalp. Zasies moves in to help him out, but is promptly grabbed and thrown off the ship by the annoyed sailor. Thormanil and Alexis end up back-to-back, holding off the rest of them even as Ognar calls another aboard. The leader is left growling as Dyric lands an arrow in his side. The captain, meanwhile, duels with his overweight second-in-command, the greasy cook's head spinning as Illdria expertly uses his own weapon against him. Bagnav turns to Guts, who's busy cutting through the horde of whelps, and drives his enormous spear through the raider's back, roaring in fury as he falls to the deck. He takes a swing at Hoke, leaving a deep slash through both armor and flesh, and finally another sweep at Tesni, who falls instantly. Haldor munches some popcorn and watches the battle. 19. Quoting stuff is different...you can do it in-character and used right it's not off-topic. It's fair game.
  20. It's in the nature of anyone who plays RPGs to get hopelessly and hilariously off-topic even while there's some sort of giant life-or-death battle between the forces of good and evil going on. Anyway, I still do think we need an Elphaba-esque merchant for non-magical stuff, like weapons, maybe Bright Polish/Grating Stones, etc.
  21. And here I was trying to figure out for two days what the hell kind of puzzle this is. "All of it," shrugged Atramor, tossing the ape an Ether Core. "Just make sure to use that once you're done."
  22. "Unless someone else's got an answer by now, I don't think it's worth the time sittin' here to figure it out. I'd rather just move on east."
  23. Where're all these immunities coming from? Also, you or Scuba can choose actions for Tesni and Jess now.
  24. Well, it's nice to know good old delusional Arthur is back.
