  13. I honestly think that most of the soul searching stuff with NPCs should just be left implied. Is it really going to be relevant to anybody who reads it, and does anyone care enough about Arthur's inane logic to read a book about it? I generally expect either a blunt one-liner or a big roleplaying post whenever I open the Training Room, but nothing more than that.

The Kingdoms were the victors that day, and so they took recompense from us while we fled from their lands. Today...no. Old wounds run deep, but it takes the blade of a new, living foe to open them again. They struck first, but this time, we will strike last." Tarvalk nodded, leading Tra-Serral and the heroes through the gap in the wall. The heroes found their boots almost an inch deep in ash, and the air smelled of gunpowder and soot. The old orc pointed out a palace just ahead of them - unlike almost every building in Baltarok, this one seemed new, fresh, its stone of good quality, and resembling a High Kingdoms castle. The buildings around it had been newly burned, lying in smoking ruin around it. "There is a side entry arch just nearby. It will be guarded as well, but you will not run into the ambush they will have set up at the front door. Come upstairs when you are finished with them. With Tarok's iron visage on our side, we should have Karstaal by then. Mar calm vohl et zark, heroes." The clan leader and his ever silent daughter went around to the back of the building. The party approached the building where Tarvalk directed, and indeed, they found an entryway. Three heavily armored men stood in it - one in particularly well-forged steel and holding an enormous axe - and over their heads, they had hung several tortured orcs from the ramparts. The guards hefted their weapons at the party's approach, but their dirt-caked leader pushed their blades away. "Relax, men. I was told we may into run into some heroes." He looked up at them, with a lopsided grin. "Prince Speros didn't think you'd show.
