  1. Just wondering, has anyone bought a 'canister' villain with the stronger new-style hand pieces that come with the Hero 2.0s or are they all the brittle old Bionicle 2008 hand pieces?
  2. Very nice! I love the head. I agree that the tip of the tail looks weird, and the wings would look much better with a cloth of some sort. Otherwise, great job. EDIT: Just realized the creative use of the Visorak spinner threads for the wings! Ingenius!
  3. I don't think there's a Wiki entry or any info of it yet. My guess is that it's going to appear in a new episode of CW S3 (which starts again this week) and since Lego knows beforehand what's going to be in episodes they'd be able to design a set beforehand.
  4. Ahsoka's having a second, shorter lightsaber in Season 3. I wonder if Lego would pull off a minifig like that - using the shorter collectable minifig beam as her second lightsaber.
  5. Yup, that has been mentioned already. I don't mind, never got any of those Ben 10 sets... Also, I really can't see how Lego will be able to pull off a vehicle in this new building system. After all, to put it bluntly, it's armour slapped on a skeleton - how would they do a vehicle like that? I'd agree with vexorian, a mech seems more plausible (and much cooler).
  6. I totally agree. Hopefully, we'll have Heroes riding battle creatures or something like that in the coming waves to come. Something like the Baranus but on a more epic scale.
  7. Nice review! I like how you start reviews with 'This review will be on the...' On a whole, nice set, but I still prefer the old, more accurate version. The cockpit shouldn't be that big and I hate the looks of the new guns. Also, you put on an extra white 1x2 tile on the tip of the nose of your old V-Wing, it's not supposed to be there. Otherwise, thanks for the comparison shots.
  8. While HF may not last as long as Bionicle did, I certainly think it will last for more than 3 waves. The line has a lot of potential, with the new building system and all.
  9. Excellent MOC! I love Todo, who cares if it's oversized, it's awesome!
  10. On Zarkan's and Brickthing's post. While I agree with Zarkan, my friend and I had a similar discussion about this, and we came to this conclusion. Sure, Bionicle's storyline was definitely more complex and more interesting than any other theme Lego has ever done. However, this would only cater to existing fans. New fans would find it a pain to dig through Bionicle's 'history', and this would turn off a lot of kids. Kids definitely prefer simpler storylines that they can understand. As Bionicle progressed, it became more and more complicated, and thus harder for kids to turn up. My friend and I assumed Bionicle was cut short simply due to its complex storyline. We decided that 2009's Bara Magna was an attempt at simplifying Bionicle's storyline, with a fresh new start, new characters, new planet, but it ended up doing just the opposite. While Hero Factory may be too simple and boring for us Bionicle fans, kids would find it more appealing. Heroes fighting bad guys to save the day. Bionicle? Weird names and such, kids don't know what's going on. In my opinion, Lego had this new HF 2011 building system planned for a pretty long time. I guess they decided HF's first wave would be like a 'honeymoon year' for Bionicle fans, kids and old fans alike - different theme, but similar building style, so people can relate the two. Once people got wind of the new theme, only then they introduce this new building style. I guess Lego wanted Bionicle fans to move on to HF. Just my two cents.
  11. These pictures are amazing! Well done! How'd you get Indy to pose with the butterfly and chameleon?
  12. I agree about the badges. While they look cool and all, 1) they're not useful for MOCs, 2) they ruin the overall look of the figure - like one piece standing out from all the rest. I wonder how Stringer 3.0's claw hand is done, though. Is it a new piece?
  13. Hilarious! Very unique review. I wish this set was still available though, it looks great.
  14. That said, the end product could be green, which although would be horribly ugly, may turn out to be true since they're in a jungle environment and green would make sense.
  15. Actually, depending on the continuity, there are either 7 or 13 Primes. I was just trying to get my point across. Still, I agree this would be interesting for a fan project.
  16. Great review, great set. I do have a question - the way the wings attach to the body looks very flimsy, with that technic piece. Do the wings flop around easily?
  17. The feature of this set alone makes it worth it. Probably one of the best set features ever, and it seems to work well. Definite buy for me, thanks for the review.
  18. Sounds familiar?
  19. Hmm, you're right. It does really resemble Bitil's, though, except for the forehead and eyes. I don't mind, really, Bitil is awesome. Can't wait to see what Raw-Jaw really looks like, I can only make out his huge claw from what we can see. Plus I do hope they do something about Fangz's fangs (lol) - the spears as fangs just don't cut (pun not intended) for me. Everything else is great though.
  20. You know, now that I read God Iron's post... I think I'm starting to see what you mean. Recurring characters would get a bit boring after a few years. Seems Waspix has a Bitil head as well. I'm sure that will change, these are just prelims. Oh, and I love the detraction from vehicles to creatures too. When I get him I'll try to pull of a 'chicken leg' pose. It would look cool, and Waspix wouldn't be ridiculously tall too. On the topic of Waspix - looks like he has Jetbug-esque 'wings', except instead of jets they are armour pieces with that red Rahkshi spike piece. Are those supposed to be wings? They look really odd to me.
  21. I do hope Lego gives us new prints for existing CW characters that are undergoing the new costume updates. Asajj Ventress seems to have new prints for her torso and legs, and is missing that awful skirt. Hopefully Anakin and Obi-Wan will get updated as well.
  22. Let me get this straight: Savage Opress (with new Zabrak head mold), Asajj Ventress, and Anakin all in one small, fairly cheap set? AWESOME. I do hope Lego takes the effort to update the looks of the figs since the CW characters are getting costume makeovers in Season 3. I may be more of a CW fan, but Summer 2011 looks set to blow the Winter wave away.
  23. On second thought, I just might get Waspix. I just noticed his stinger, which is pretty cool and hasn't been seen before in Bionicle/HF sets. Plus if I'm not wrong it's the first official use of the ball joint in the crotch on the new torso.
  24. For the record, Optimus Prime is NOT lame. I take offense in that. He is the single most epic character in the history of fictional characters. (I know this sounds a bit harsh, but I mean no harm. Just trying to get my point across. ) I have to disagree about the staleness thing as well - I really don't mind recurring characters. However, I do agree people may find them boring over time, so maybe Lego could pull another Toa Nuva, have the original gang go MIA for a few years and then bring them back.
  25. Wait... 3.0 already? That was fast. The green custom armour looks ridiculous on all the Heroes. All of them are NOT going on my Heroes. Rocka: Ridiculous mask. Weapon resembles Nex's. I'll pass on this one. Nex: That mask is wicked, though I can't see the blade weapon clearly. Looks pretty cool, I might get him. Stormer: Best mask of all, but I don't like the weapon. Hmm. Bulk: The mask looks weird, though I like the blade weapons. Stringer: My favourite. Awesome mask, badass claw weapon. Furno: The mask looks odd, but cool nontheless. I don't like how his weapon is the Winter 2011 blades. Though his shoulder wings look cool. Rocka XL: Wait... So Rocka turned evil? Another Fire Lord, I'll pass. Witch Doctor: Same as Rocka XL, it's a pass. Hate those legs. Although everything else about him is awesome. That staff is wicked. Scorpion: Looks pretty meh to me, I'll think about it. Is it just me, or are Raw-Jaw and Fangz regular $12.99 villains, just with their box flipped? By far, these 3 villains are the best sets in HF 2011 so far, as a collective group. Waspix: Nice use of Ben 10 hands there. I probably wouldn't get him anyway, but he's cool. Just like Jetbug is HF's Bitil, he looks to be HF's Gorast. Raw-Jaw: From what I can see, he looks great. That huge mouth is awesome, and I love the colour scheme. A definite buy. Fangz: Also another buy. I missed on Spinax, I want a Lego Technic hound already! The Rahkshi spikes are also really cool, as a huge fan of the Rahkshi this is a must buy. All in all this is a great move for HF 2011. The fire fighting thing was pretty lame, but this jungle mission of sorts seems to be great. As a sucker for insectoid sets, I'm loving this. Thanks for the pics!
