  1. Brilliant!
  2. Hi, this is my new MOC, a town hall building with a square. The MOC is vaguely inspired by the town hall of the city of Messina, in Italy, where I was born. The square contains a war memorial that I built two years ago, finally taking the same position it has in reality. On the side entrance of the building, there are the ramps for disabled people. (I built the wheelchair well before the news of the official release by TLG!) Other two views of the building and the roof: Two details of the square: The building has interior rooms (roof and first floor are removable), but I haven't built any furniture yet. The MOC will be part of the City diorama of ITLUG Latina 2016 exhibition. Other photos are available on Flickr.

  4. Nice little modular building! Very notable for a "very first MOC" !! Only a remark: I'm afraid that the shape of the roof, that sticks out the base, won't allow you to combine it with other modular buildings...
  5. Hello, this is my last MOC, a mobile crane vaguely inspired to the one included in the LEGO Town Square set. Mobile Crane di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr Mobile Crane di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr Mobile Crane di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr Mobile Crane di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr
  6. The original MOC is dated 2006 and it was actually inspired by another MOC by astronut1.
  7. I'm not sure, it was a little local exhibition that lasted several days, maybe a kid stole it from the diorama...
  8. I resume this old topic to share the plaza that I built for my monument: War Memorial Plaza di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr
  9. This is a new version of an old MOC of mine that I lost at an exhibition: American Truck di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr The cabin is big enough to put the sleeper interior: American Truck - interior details di Lego Amaryl, su Flickr The original version of the MOC was inspired by this one.
  10. Am I the only one who is not surprised by the choice? It sounds to me the only logical one and I saw no reason why the Universal Pictures shouldn't have granted LEGO the license. In reply to those that complain about another licensed set... you are underestimating how popular is the BTTF trilogy still today and how alive is still the fandom! PoP, PoTC, Ninja Turtles, The Lone Ranger and other movies or cartoons that TLG turned to sets will be forgotten soon, BTTF is a classic that will always be popular (without need to have a sequel).

  13. For this raffle I made my own Xmas version of the latest "LEGO Imagine" ad campaign:
  14. Awesome miniature of the real set! Many interesting techniques... most of them are "illegal", so if TLG released an official miniature of the set it would be very different!
  15. I agree that the existence of clone brands is important for competition, however I think it's more than evident thay are a copy... a bad copy. Megabloks and other brands not only use the same "stud" system of LEGO, but they keep introducing new molds similar to the new LEGO bricks (e.g. new mudguards, wedges, etc...). Plastic quality is poor, set design is often more childish than LEGO, minifigs are ugly... and no competitor brand has a brick "system" comparable to LEGO (in fact, usually they use the word "compatible" on the boxes). So I don't hate them, I simply keep them away and suggest to my relatives and friends not to buy them for their children, especially those from very low cost brands.
  16. Cool and funny! Are the eyes upturned tires?
  17. It's a pity that these sets are not produced by LEGO. Kre-O sets look too <insert that tiresome argument> and a bit "cartoonish", not well proportioned. LEGO designers would make a way better job. But the worst part is the Kre-O minifig...
  18. I don't know if it will be available in other shops and I don't know why Spieletom sells them while every others don't. I think this kind of sets should be promo, but I've never happened to see a promotion where you get them. If you manage to find other people in your city that want it, you can share shipping cost. In this way I got it at about 30 cent of shipping cost
  19. I like how in this MOC classic and modern meet each other. The size of the shunter and the use of old classical windows give the MOC a classical feeling, that is perfectly combined with more modern elements. The Power Functions elements are well hidden in a small space. Perhaps you could add some tiles and levers above the PF connectors to give the minifig some controls to operate!
  20. There are no such questions in the forum, nobody criticized your skills and profession. Thank you for the other answers.
  21. Great MOC, the idea of making half Colosseum in the past and half in the present is brilliant! However, I'm not sure that making it white is a good choice...
  22. Hi everybody, I know there's already a review of this set, however I made a short photo review of this set for an Italian forum and I'd like to share it also here because it's my first review... and I was inspired by the reviews that I often read on Eurobricks I got the set from the German site Spieletom, for € 2.99 plus shipping. The set is packed in a little polybag, made of the same material of the bags that contain pieces in sets, but printed with the set picture. Please note the symbol that indicates the presence of a "glow-in-the-dark" element. The polybag contains the pieces and the tiny instruction paper. First page of the instructions paper. Again, the symbol indicates that the ghost cloak "glows in the dark". I couldn't resist assembling the ghost. Simple but nice: the head piece, completely black, gives the face its spectral look. The minifig has a brick 1x2 instead of the legs. The chain with the weight is attached under the brick. With low light, after having exposed it to the light for a little time, the ghost cloak glows: These are the pieces for the clock pendulum. You can notice some useful modified bricks and cheese slopes in reddish brown, the classical clock round 2x2 tile and the paddle used for the pendulum. The clock is elegant and realistic. Its only flaw is that the pendulum is motionless. I'm thinking of a solution to make it swing. And then some photos of the whole set... ...and a photo in the complete darkness. A simple effect obtained by adding the last two photos: Finally, this is a set with a good value for the money, especially if you compare it to the collectible minifig that, for 2-2.5€, give you only the minifig with some accessories. The pieces included are very common, but the ghost itself is worth the price. If you have, in your layout, an abandoned villa or castle, you've found a perfect tenant for it!
  23. I agree the "Golden Age" is 1980-1994... maybe I'm not objective because it was when I was a child, but it's a matter of fact that during that age we had the "boom" of Classic Town, Space, Castle and Pirates, and Technic started to become more specialized. When I watch to the catalogs of my dark age, I don't regret having missed that period... while now we have a new period rich of themes, wonderful sets, lots of useful new elements and building techniques. But I wouldn't call this a new Golden Age, only a "Silver Age". Because IMHO there is still something that I feel missing from the '80-'90: alternative creations on the box, idea books, basic and technic universal sets. In that period LEGO used to encourage children to build different creations with their bricks, now this is true only for "bucket" sets (too childish) and Creator (too specialized, even if the recent houses are a goog step in the direction of old BASIC sets). Technic does not have "multi-sets" any more. In additions, there are too many colours in which only few kind of bricks are available. Having more elements and colours is cool, but when I was a child I was able to build a set I didn't own or something from an idea book only with my bricks. If LEGO made something to address these issues, there could be a "golden age" again.
  24. Cool! Could you take a better picture of the black car? It looks nice but is never on focus
  25. I'm a Star Trek fan too. Favourite series: DS9 Favourite movies: The Undiscovered Country, First Contact Favourite character: hard to choose one, but let's try... Spock, Data, EMH, Seven... from DS9, that is more of a choral series, I liked the "bald bearded" Sisko (the character evolved very much from the early seasons), Garak , Gul Dukat and Worf. Favourite episodes: even harder! "The City on the Edge of forever", "The Enterprise Incident", "Yesterday's Enterprise", "The Best of Both Worlds", from DS9 I name only "The Visitor" but there are so many excellent episodes!!
