How do you display your modular building collection?
Rapseflaps replied to yanathin's topic in LEGO Town
I have them on two IKEA shelves as well. Not Expedit though. They're above my desk. I can only fit eight of them though, so once I build the Parisian Restaurant I'll have to come up with something to make room. Or install another shelf. -
That's really cool. Final design is better though. :)

Wow, that looks really cool! I'm going to have to try this myself!

Nope, not going this year. Looks like I'll simply be too busy to attend. Pity though. I was curious to see how the event would be in Utrecht, having attended it at the IJsselhallen for a few years.

The Winter Village Cottage was definitely worth the €99,99 I spent on it. It's a great big building with wonderful interior and some really nice side buildings. With this one... I'm just not so sure. It seems cobbled together. I would have expected a set like this to be in the Winter Village's old price range (i.e. about €79,99). I'll still likely end up buying this, but it's no longer a no-brainer like the previous sets were.

Lovely! I'll be getting the Palace Cinema first (I'm a little behind on these), then it's on to this one.

Finally. Hurray!

I might visit; not sure yet. I'm saving up to catch up on modular buildings (last one I bought was the Pet Shop) and this year's Winter Village set. So spending €20,- on a ticket (plus the inevitable on-site impulse purchases) might be a bit counterproductive there.

Man, these winter sets are getting expensive. At least last year we had more pieces this year too and a big building to compensate for the higher price. At €99,99, this set is a bit disappointing, really. I'll probably end up getting it to satisfy my completist needs anyway, but with little room in my current home to display LEGO sets, I might hold off on buying this one until a later point (say, next year). If I do end up getting this one, I'll likely create a scene featuring just this and the Winter Cottage (which is great, btw). I think those two alone would make a nice combination.

Uhm.... No. That's not mirroring a 20cm increase in width. That's going from a Smart to a Hummer in standard car size.

Didn't see a thread for this one yet. So, who's going?
-
Epic. I want one!

My first batch of series 5 minifigures: At a 25% price increase since series 4. Uncool, LEGO, uncool.

What a shame. What happened?

I'll watch the video after I've built it. They usually show all the cool stuff in these vids and I like to be surprised when I'm building. This is so going to be my Christmas decoration for this year, btw.

I like these smaller ships. I wish Lego had done one or two of these in the new Pirates line, before ditching it for that licensed rubbish they've got going on now.
-
I'd buy this, if I hadn't just built Medieval Market Village, which has a similar blacksmith only better. The weapons gallery is pretty cool though. Do they come in any other set other than the Heroica games?
-
That's quite modest, right?

Got these at the LEGO Store in Oberhausen last Tuesday: Used my VIP pass, so I got this one for free: Also picked up a Jack Sparrow keychain for a friend of mine who is a massive Johnny Depp fan.

Review: 10193 Medieval Market Village
Rapseflaps replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Bought this set last week and built it yesterday. I really enjoyed the build and the finished set looks great. It's my first medieval set since coming back to LEGO and between this and the 2009 Pirates line I might just be a little tired of plain old City LEGO, which was always my theme of choice. There's just so much charm to these fantasy figures. I might pick up the new Kingdoms Mill Village Raid set as well. Not too hot on the current castle though. Bring back the raised baseplate! -

This whole MOC is fantastic. I want one. -
Yes. Yes, yes, yes. I felt exactly the same, having missed out on the 2007 harbor as well. I was looking forward to a new harbor theme ever since I realized I have a few small boats among my city stuff, but no harbor to put them in. This and the marina are both very disappointing. I know they're gearing these sets more towards play features than proper looks these days, but this stuff is just getting rediculous. A definite pass on both this and the marina set for me.

That's an unspeakable amount of plastic awesome. Kudos. -
There's one in 6389 Fire Control Center (1990) as well.
