A fan choice. If I recall correctly it's based on those three concept art images that Toys 'R' Us ran on their website somewhere last year. A lot of the stuff on those images has actually been produced already. It's speculated the final choice for 8404 might be a truck stop.

That's 8403, actually. Which I'm totally getting. Civilian Lego, yay!
-
Ordered, along with 3222. And to think six months ago I had none of these modular buildings. Luckily though, I now have at least a year to save up for the next one!

Uhm, just like I said. When I do a quick search for "10211" I get this: But if I proceed and click on the search result, it takes me to the Grand Emporium's product page, where its price is listed, it's marked "Available Now" and I can order it perfectly fine. I just didn't look hard enough first time around.

What? Where? Brickshop.nl went from "shipped within 1-3 days" to "product unavailable" before Sunday already and Lego.nl still lists it as "Not available." Me want! EDIT: Whoops, never mind. Lego.nl's search results lists it as "Not available," but I can order when I click on to the product page. Awesomeness!

Well, nobody knows right now and it's probably waaaay too early. Some guess the next might be a post office, citing the mail box on the sidewalk of 10211 as a possible hint, but quite frankly, I think that's clutching at straws at best.

I also spotted it at our local Bart Smit yesterday, along with the entire airport line.

Never gets old.

Thanks for the reply. It's nice to know LEGO is working on even improving a set that is already out and doing well. It's a fantastic model already, but it's very nice to see LEGO still has it on its radar and hasn't simply 'moved on' As for driving it, I don't even have the room to push it around. My model is currently simply sitting built on my shelf, just looking beautiful.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. That step confused the living hell out of me when I built my Emerald Night, so I decided to keep the 1x1 Technic brick and the gold round 1x1 plate aside. However, later in the build, I had to use up that same 1x1 Technic brick for the piece that goes in the top middle of the engine (the bit that you take apart again when you convert the model for PF). So my kit actually didn't have enough parts. It was missing the extra 1x1 Technic brick needed for the revision and also the little round 1x1 plate (there was one leftover spare, but there should always be a single spare of 1x1 round plates, so I guess this part was "missing" as well). I think the biggest problem with this being really confusing is that the 1x1 brick and the 1x1 round plate don't reappear in step 6, causing them to disappear from the model entirely! Perhaps a further revision of step 6 is needed to make the instructions clearer, or has this already happened and is this why the .pdf has to be updated again? Also, adding the actual parts would help - do I understand correctly I ended up with some shadow batch that had the revised building instructions but not the updated bag contents and that this problem has been fixed already?

That's interesting. I didn't know that was the reason LEGO stopped putting alternate models on the box art. I always enjoyed looking at some of the creative ideas based on bricks originally used for building something else entirely - even if my few attempts to recreate some of those alternate models from the pictures failed miserably. Historical overview showing the whole street? Yes, please. Although I'm sure many Eurobricks members will be happy to provide some shots of their own.

Oh dear. This looks very nice. I'm torn between following this thread for more details and avoiding it altogether to leave the rest of the building a surprise...

Whoops. Well, in that case, Steenstad is mine. Lay off it!
-
That Dutch retailer catalogue that leaked listed all train sets as having an August 2010 release date.
-
Brickburg. Or, since you're Dutch, I suggest Steenstad.

Looks great! I just bought the small car yesterday and built it today. I love having a nice little 4-wide car based on the old car base again. And having one with a modern design makes it fits into my City even better. I'm telling you, if TLG had released this same set in five different colours I probably would have bought one of each!

What's with all the smurf names?

Actually, we're getting at least three trucks this year: the Octan tanker, the Lego truck, and the red semi that comes with the new cargo train.
-
You guys are nuts. Excellent!
-
Lego. Then again, everyone got small presents and I already own pretty much all the small city sets I want that are currently available.

Sadly, that is how a lot of music videos get made.

I must have been was 10 or 11 at least before I had the means to purchase any Lego at all and by that time I was already reaching the end of the System line's target demographic. Children don't buy €150 train sets, nor do they buy a €90 police headquarters, a €60 farm, nor are they even likely to casually drop €30 on a gas station. Their parents, on the other hand...

I did some silly 10-minute quiz show as a kid once. I lost. Also, I once attended the taping of a Dutch television program that had as guests two actors from 24 (Jean Smart and Gregory Itzin, to be exact). A call had gone out looking for 24-fans specifically. We ended up sitting in the front row. Which also means every time you have to applaud, you end up with a big old camera lens pointing your way. It was... awkward. Then there was that time an extra in the Dutch soap ONM didn't turn up and I was asked to take his place. That has yet to air. I wouldn't mind getting cut though. I'm far better off staying with the electric department than getting my mug on TV.

I think I see two 2x2 seats in a row, actually. The back is mostly empty, so there's plenty space for a second seat. Looks like they went away from those humongous train end pieces that were in the last passenger train as well. Hurray!
