Maybe we could arrange a meet? How did you guys hook up last year?
-
From October 20th to October 27th, the IJsselhallen in Zwolle will once again host LEGO World. I visited for the first time last year, all on my own. I'll probably be going again this year, but don't know on which day yet. Any fellow Dutchies here planning on going? Discuss! (event's official website here!)

Yes. I certainly have no regrets about buying it.
-
The space port stuff in that link sounds interesting. And a brand new Egyptian theme. Could be cool.

It's an expression. You can look it up. -

Hear, hear. -
There was also the Eiffel Tower set, but I believe that has been discontinued already and might require some snooping around on eBay and BrickLink to find it.

Great city. And with room for expansion left. Yay!

I got my copy from Shop@Home on Wednesday. It's sitting built on my desk now. It's really nice and I especially like the Christmas tree. No doubt it'll look great together with the Winter Village Bakery.

Very nice. I especially like your solution for that silly 8x16 baseplate sticking out at the back. The wall around the gas pump from the Octan Tanker Truck is very nice as well. Good MOD.

My latest Shop@Home order arrived today. This will look very nice coupled with 10216 as my Christmas decorations this winter.

Spread over two trips to the shops, one trip without and one trip with barcode cheat sheet. I screwed up the first time, so I now have two traffic cops. Oh well.

Guide to the Pirate Mini-Figures - The Complete Series
Rapseflaps replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hmm, I was looking through the Pirate Index and thought these guides might be interesting reading. Unfortunately, it turns out all the links lead to a dead end! Any chance of restoring them (for the other parts as well)? -
I got one in May and I finally took some pics of it recently. Here he is: Such a strapping young lad.

I vote no. We've all been clamouring for more focus on everyday civilian live in the City theme. I don't think guns really fit in. And the Lego police force has managed to round up the criminals without guns for a few decades now. No need to change that, I think. And if you really really must have guns, there's always Brickarms.

Frankly, this looks like a very, very poor attempt at a poll. One which already exists.
-
Maybe you could try through his company?
-
Well you do have those red lights.... Brothel? Seriously though, excellent building. I look forward to seeing the interior once it's finished.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Rapseflaps replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Oh dear. That's awful. I'd never seen those before. I'm still on the fence on this one. I'm not a big licence fan and the original Lego Pirates are just so darn charming. I'll wait and see on this one. -
A mix of late eighties/early nineties, City sets from 2007 and later and a few modulars thrown in. Until I had to break it down, anyway (see here).
-
It's here: Yay! Now I have pretty much all the 2009 Pirate sets (except for the games and battlepacks, which don't interest me as much).
-
6357 is a great model from the classic town days, but even cooler I thought as a kid was this. The bikes are cool, the truck looks great, there's a neat car and an awesome space shuttle (complete with satellite). Class...

Rapseflaps replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Pre-Dark Age: 6236 King Kahuka 6237 Pirates Plunder (although sadly, both minifigures are AWOL) 6264 Forbidden Cove Post-Dark Age: 6239 Cannon Battle 6240 Kraken Attackin' 6241 Loot Island 6242 Soldiers' Fort 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty 6299 Pirates Advent Calendar 8396 Soldier's Arsenal 8397 Pirate Survival 10210 Imperial Flagship Oh, and I just ordered 6253 Shipwreck Hideout off Bricklink. Yay! -
Just finished building. That ship is HUGE!

I don't think I'm really a collector of these, although I do own three of them and have a fourth on my wish list. I bought them to add to my town and I think they really fit in nicely. My last city had all sorts of buildings ranging from the modulars to a tiny old post station on an 8x16 baseplate. You have to kind of put the same-sized sets together or it'll look weird (imagine a Green Grocer right next to the pizza restaurant from City Corner), but that usually works out okay. As for play, I don't think the Creator line is really aimed towards that (at least not in the way the City line is) and the absence of any minifigs, despite the structures' minifig-scale size greatly limits the playability of the house as a standalone.
