6 more Series 4 minifigs: Yay, complete! And what a lovely series it is. Bring on series 5!

My first 10 Series 4 minifigs:

Meh. Doesn't look as good built as I thought it would. Still, for a 5 Euro set I suppose it gets the job done.

Since today is March 1st, I too don't think it's going to be a March 1st release...

The lighthouse is a musthave. It comes with a revolving light too. Awesome!
-
Holy plastic awesome, Batman! I want one.

What was your first major City/Town building?

And it's clickable too. -
Not officially, no. But it fits in quite nicely with the rest.

So yeah. -
March 1 already? Damn. I'll better start saving!

Yellow snow? Ewwwwww....

Huzzah, me bucko. And here I was thinking you were all about Star Wars LEGO.

I was going to make a list for my ideal Imperial land base, but basically, I just want one of these: Perfect.

I'm already loving the way you paved the little square. Very Dutch!

Good thing there's plenty of cops and construction workers in the average Lego city.

I really like Loot Island. It's a cheap and modest little set, but it has a ton of playability. There's an endless amount of scenarios you can play with it. Great value.

Rapsy needs to refresh his mind with a fresh new title! Because I mentioned to WhiteFang that I needed a new title.

So, how does one get to display at LEGO World anyway?

Saw some Heineken on this page. There's a new one: -
I too would recommend BlueBrick. It's quite handy. And if you're going to get into modulars, don't wait too long. Expect Green Grocer to disappear off the market some time next year. Oh, and pics please.

I went today, along with my dad. After a long train journey, we finally arrived at the IJsselhallen in Zwolle... My sigfig on his way to Zwolle! There was plenty of cool stuff to see, from massive train layouts to giant LEGO sculptures - and everything in between. They had an area entirely devoted to the LEGO Games, where you could actually play some of them. We ended up playing a game of Minotaur (just the basic rules). It was okay, but the novelty of playing a board game with LEGO wore off pretty quickly. Maybe the other games are better. The Taj Mahal set expanded. The arrival of Sinterklaas. The boat moves. Awesome. Paleis Soestdijk. The coolest stuff came at the Designer stand. They had the Diagon Alley set laid out (it was also laid out in a different configuration at the Harry Potter area). It looked pretty cool (I didn't get any pictures - the set has already been well documented in publicity stills). At the stand, I had a chance to talk to Jamie Berard at the Designer stand, which was pretty cool. Of course I couldn't resist asking if we were going to see any more modular buildings. Berard replied with a firm "we're not allowed to talk about what's coming," but he did mention that as long as the modulars are selling well, LEGO intents to release more of them. "And they seem to be selling well." It's as diplomatic an answer as you're going to get, but the fact that people are still buying these sets gives hope for the future. I asked about how the Fire Brigade came about. I was wondering about it, because the inclusion of a vehicle seemed like a small deviation. Berard explained that it was all about "taking the sets to the next level. You start with Café Corner, which had no interior. Then you get to Green Grocer and we gave it an interior. Then the next step for Fire Brigade became adding a vehicle. So it's all about evolution." By the time they got to Grand Emporium they realized the interiors were pretty expensive to do. On Grand Emporium the focus was more on making it another corner building, but one that differs from Café Corner. We talked about availability as well. "These sets are exclusives, so they're supposed to be rare. They're on the market for about three years, then they disappear." He also mentioned two other pretty cool things: the frog is one of his favorite elements, so he's always looking to use the frog in new ways (hence the inclusion in Café Corner and the use of frogs as helmet hangers in Fire Brigade). Another one of his favorite bits (and mine, actually) are the hidden things: the mouse under the stairs in Café Corner and the bat in Fire Brigade's bell tower. The hidden item in Grand Emporium was supposed to be the minifig in the dressing room, but "then they put it on the box. It was supposed to be a hidden bonus, but the marketing department felt like they wanted to put it on the back," he smiled. Lastly, I put forth the theory that there's a hidden clue in each set that indicates what the next set is going to be. "I've heard about it. Sounds like a stretch to me," was his kind comment. Lifesize minifigs. At the LEGO store, I picked up two lovely exclusive sets: the Winter Bakery and Shuttle Adventure. I also bought my first used set ever at one of the stands. Finally, after all these years of disappointment and frustration for not getting it as a kid, I am now the proud owner of the Deep Freeze Defender. As we left the event, we received a goodie bag containing - along with some other stuff - a Creator promo (this one). The complete haul. More images at Brickshelf (browserfriendly versions here)

I'll be there tomorrow as well. My dad is coming along too, just for fun. Maybe I'll see some of you guys there! I think I'll bring my sigfig too.

Pretty cool. The staircase is a very nice touch. Big fan of the original too, btw.
