  1. Actually, I recently bought 7 64x64 baseplates from Fishpond for $11 each, as well as 2x Kings Castle for 102$ each... They do tend to muck you around a bit, but if you hold your ground the product shows up. You are from Dunedin? More the merrier down here! BTW, City of Atlantis was definitely in the stores here, I have 5 of them on my shelf :) Awesome set. The Warehouse clearanced them off some time ago however, but Farmers still has stock.
  2. Heya all. Just a couple of things here. Duties are a different thing from GST. NZ does not charge duty on toys imported to NZ. GST is payable on pretty much everything you buy. (Music downloads and other electronic downloads are the only exceptions I can think of just now) there is no magical $400 limit on GST, they just wont chase it up if its under that. This was called a "gift allowance" where they assume anything under that value was a gift. (Originally back in the good ole 80s, You had to send Cash in the post to order from overseas, and have them wrap your purchases up in giftwrap to avoid the import duties that we had before GST. The Internet rocks!) Lego.com will be paying the GST legitimately so those packages that Customs gobbled up were obviously a bit of a woopsie on Lego/Customs part. (When you make a purchase you should notice they give you a GST number... handy if you make your living with Lego, so you can claim it back) Cheers! Callum
  3. Nice review - takes me back a lonnng way! Just a note, When I collected Fabuland back nearly 30 years ago (!), the Bulldogs hat could be removed? was this changed for generation 2? Also the roof tiles could be disassembled.
  4. Just a note, from the photos I can actually tell some of the figures are cracked. (Check the small of the back) Although this could suggest the buyer could have also seen this before buying. Callum
  5. Aaaactually, I find postage from the US can be very similar to postage from NZ for anything larger than an envelope... YMMV.
  6. Ahh you got the truck! :) I left empty handed... Will order some figures off Bricklink I think. RE: Boba Fett, it is confirmed to be just the regular Boba (not the cloud city version. damn)
  7. Just a heads up. The Warehouse Dunedin Central just got 13 pallets of toys which are for an upcoming toysale :)
  8. Just grabbed a Queen Annes revenge for $175 at Toyworld with the 30% off. Also in the news - Anyone selling their Shadow ARF? Im offering $25 inc shipping :) Cheers
  9. The date for release was the 24th of April on those boxes. Lego Embargoes are based at the Distribution center, so the store wont get the set until it can be sold (Generally). All POTC sets are available at the Warehouse and Toyworld (London Escape is at the Warehouse and Whitecap Bay at Toyworld, unsure if they are exclusives to those stores or not) as for what Ill be getting.... I think I might grab some grey baseplates!
  10. Hey all. Have had a few PMs asking for what I am looking for. Heres a short list. Message me to let me know what you have and what you want for them! Also looking for Castle figures of most genres. Cheers!
  11. I have a Darth Maul and Dooku . Looking to sell or trade :) Cheers
  12. I grabbed 4 myself, (and a Power Miners Titanium rig for $42!)
  13. Not to mention 50% off all Clearance. :)
  14. "I know something you do not know"
  15. Hey all, just letting you know that there will be a nice sale on Lego this Monday/Tuesday at The Warehouse.
  16. The minimum you need to buy from Office Max is a bag of 100 ... (which comes to about $1.80) So pretty easy to get into :) Plastic Box does have the same bags, but for about twice the price :(
  17. I use Office Max ... Around about 1000 bags for 15$ BTW to those interested, I have lowered my minimum order amount on bricklink to $12 USD.
  18. Hey guys. Just started up my Bricklink store again to get rid of some of my unloved Lego. Currently available to New Zealanders only http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Stormcrow If there is anything you are looking for, let me know! Cheers :) Callum.
  19. Hmmm... I'm a wargamer too.... Curious!
  20. I have quite a few that I would be willing to swap for other minifigures from various themes?
  21. (Edit) I see all the Hello Kitty jokes have been done already... Damn!
  22. Not sure actually... but less. Maybe 25 Spartans at a push. Will gladly exchange them for other figures I am after (Star Wars, Batman, Harry Potter etc etc etc) Speaking of specials: The Warehouse is currently having a clearance of Lego. I just picked up the last of the Kingdoms sets (around 45% off retail...) and they are also clearing out their world racer series. (also grabbed a few old Agents sets at around 70% off) Just a reminder to all, I am collecting Minifigures. If anyone is interested in selling some figures or swapping, Please PM me and we can exchange details... (I have spent about $1000 on Bricklink this year... So thought I may as well find a few more "Local" people with some stuff spare. Cheers! Callum
  23. Errrm. There is only one barcode on the Series 3 figures... the one you quoted is the product code. If you look carefully you will find the dot-code on the pack, but it is very difficult to pick out. And elves are awesome indeed... which is why I have over 60 of the suckers! (shame their ears weren't drawn on...)
  24. These guys are incorrect... the shield looks to be Megablocks? while the rest of him is mismatched (Armour is from vladek, but the rest of the body is not) The undead is partially correct, she is meant to have a reversed slope for a dress, rather than legs. (She is from the Lego Fantasy Era castle chess set) The orcs are correct... they are orcs after all, they use anything they want :) although one is using a shield from a skeleton knight. (I collect orcs btw... Just sayin! :) Callum.
