Phantom Menace sets (pod Racers, darth Maul sets etc)

Just got back from a local Toy Auction... Crikey, Star Wars stuff was going for an absolute song. I grabbed some 1st edition Lego sets Mint in sealed boxes for the retail price they originally sold at :/

Hah. No, not loaded... But it does appear to be a damn good price. I grab the figures and sell the sets on Trademe... Although right now I have a little bit TOO much to sell.

Just got back from South Dunedin Warehouse. Space police are in stock (most of the range, No impulse sets nor the pitstop. ) Prices are slightly below retail, plus 20% off if you have the Friends n Family code. Also a few Home-One's on the shelf. Will pop in tomorrow and grab me a half dozen sets :)

Where abouts are you located? (New Zealand here, so chances are you are too far off to trade - but I am definately wanting to get me some Green Ninja Goodness.

Yep they were.... I purchased 3 of each of the old chess sets for 25$USD each from Lego.com. The minifigs were perfect. I hope that these problems are accidental, but something tells me its just another case of lower costs, same price = More profit. Our only action may be to vote with our wallets. The last few years before 2009 really have been excellent years for TLG's Quality and Customer service, IMO... Which makes this stand out even more like dogs b^^.... food. Edit - Excellent review. I would have been ordering a half dozen of these had there not been issues with the figs! Agree with the few comments re: Shakos. The horses are odd, but expected... the nice surprise is the dagger-monkeys-. Pirate Wench with skirt is unique to this set which is neat, but I will probably obtain the skirt from somewhere else and avoid the minifigs in this

I only collect minifigures (Of all types, but obviously I have my preferences :)

Out of all of the Magnet sets I purchased earlier in the year, I can confirm they are all showing print on the arms. Some colours are also somewhat transparent (especially the red ones) I contacted lego customer services and got the "No one has told us there is anything wrong" line, but that was a few months back. Lego looks like TLG might have a communication issue. How annoyed am I? Well, how annoyed would you be if you spent over 1000$ on sub-par figures.

Just read a couple of reviews on Lego.com that say the minifigures are of dubious quality. Is anyone able to confirm? I have experienced that before with the Royal Guard magnets, so before I go crazy and order a few boxes I would like to know for sure :) Cheers!

Looks like I just picked up two Home Ones... 2009 - Starwars, Indiana Jones, Pirate and Castle are Complete! Argh. Slow down, TLG! This has been an expensive year! Next project - Ordering in some Pirate tic-tac-toes if they ever become available to us antipodeans. Thanks for the welcome! I am not on any other forums at present but if there are some I should know about... I would love to be enlightened :) Do we Kiwis have a home to go to or is this it? (Have been toying with starting a fan based website for a while...) RE: The lady selling cheap lego on Trademe. I have had a chat to her - I bought quite a bit off her at cheaper than trade me prices before she did the price hikes... But I can confirm they are from the warehouse. could see traces of "sold" sellotape on all the boxes. Originally she told me it was her brother that gave all his lego to her son, but now shes telling me she has a supplier.

Hey guys. Newbie alert! Just stumbled on this site while scouring the intertron for New Zealand Lego sites (namely helpgroups for people with addictions....) Anyway. Dunedin Central Warehouse has the Pirate Tank for 76$ No Home One unfortunately, had they had one I would have snapped it up though. Currently bidding on one on Trademe - so leave it alone! :P Local Toyworld (in the golden center) is moving and has 20% off Lego - including the Taj Mahal, taking it down to around 450$.
