  1. "Thank you." "Well I am trained in negotia-" "Okay, everyone shut the hell up. Being deliberately antagonistic in a delicate diplomatic situation is not helpful. Believe me, I'm speaking from experience." He turned to face the newcomers. "Now let's start again, can you please tell us what you want from us?" @Waterbrick Down
  2. "Well I certainly feel that way. And don't worry, I'm certain that whatever path you choose to take in future it will be the right one." "In that case, it's yours. I have no intention of taking anything of sentimental value from you or anyone else." As he spoke Throlar finished writing, folded the letter, and flung it into the air where the pink slip of paper promptly vanished. Having done that Throlar let out a deep breath and settled back in his seat. "Well," he said, "that was my resignation. As of now I am no longer a member of the Titaanese Diplomatic Service. Though in all honesty my membership has been in-name-only for some time now." He sat still for a moment, somehow looking both vastly relived and immensely unsure of himself, before taking the second slip and beginning to write once more. "Ah, one thing before you go, err..." Throlar paused for a moment, for once in his life seeming to not know what he was going to say next. "You... when your party reunited with the rest of us you had an Arbormancer with you, his name was Wally if I remember correctly, he... I was told his fiancée died during this affair, would you happen to know where that was?"
  3. "Thank you. And... sorry about your friend." Throlar took one of the letters and began to write. @Palathadric, @Lind Whisperer, @KotZ, @Asphalt, @Kintobor, @Flare; "By the way, said Throlar retrieving the Scroll of Minimization from Benji, "I've borrowed several items from some of you people and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind me keeping some of them? The Spring Staff from Karie, the Trickster's Mask of the Human that Lind gave me, and the Scrolls, Lens of Speed Reading, Splinter Broom, and Shredding Star that Pretzel lent. I have a feeling I'll be needing them in the future if I want to keep doing this Hero stuff." So saying Throlar returned Ludeus and the Gloves of the Hypocritical/Hippocratic Oath to Vindsval, the Infernal Armor to Pretzel, the Ruby to Lind, and the Emerald to Kiray, as well as returning any of the previously mentioned items to any of their owners who wanted them back.
  4. Nice to see you! Sorry about you not being able to participate though. What happened with Fort Bonaparte was that the Heroes had gotten the rebel sailors inside the fort to stop fighting and surrender, however a Bonaparte fleet was on the way to recapture the fort and our attempt's to make them stand down didn't work. As most of the people currently active and making decisions didn't like the idea of the Bonapartes regaining the fort due to their abuses of power the heroes elected to evacuate the fort and then blow it sky high.
  5. "Excellent, that's more or less what I was going to suggest. Though I was thinking that the 'king' position would be a separate individual who would have the responsibility of casting a tiebreaker vote in case of the rest of the council getting into a deadlock. Though I don't think they should be called king." Throlar thought for a moment before speaking again. "How's this," he said, "We can have a Minister of Self Defense, a Minister of the Economy, a Minister of Magic, a Minister of Scientific Progress, a Minister of Foreign Affairs, a Minister of Public Safety, a Minister of Education and Infrastructure, and a Voice of the Public. The 'top dog' position can be something like... oh, I don't know, Prime Minister maybe? It's a work in progress really, I did just come up with these names off the top of my head after all. There should also be a treasury and mint responsible for issuing currency and taxing people (preferably rich people). You can't run a government without money." "As for the matter of Heroica being held accountable to this council, well I think just them taking the time to put a proper code of laws in place and us adhering to it and allowing members who violate it without good cause to be punished should do the trick. And obviously our own leadership should be willing to cooperate with this council, though we should not be part of it." "Public works is making sure the sewer system works properly, making sure garbage is disposed of on time, making sure the walls and buildings in the city don't spontaneously collapse, keeping roads in good condition, building almshouses, hospitals, and schools and seeing that people have access to them, the construction and maintenance of firehouses (places that act as headquarters for people who go around putting out buildings that are on fire), maintaining public parks, and just making sure stuff works." @Flipz "Arthur," said Throlar turning to face the man, "while I have a chance, would you mind lending me two of those Z-mail slips? And, err... would you be willing to give me your Sylvania's Cowl? The ability to speak to animals is something I miss about being a Warden. I'm willing to buy it from you if that's what it takes."
  6. "Really?" Throlar raised an eyebrow. "Well I don't think I've known Kiray long enough to be her friend, but thank you. The name's Throlar Wineghilm." he said extending a hand. Throlar looked at the storm of an argument growing around them, sighed, and held up a hand; "Everyone, please. If I may, I feel we should probably bring a few more people in, specifically the leaders of the remaining major factions in Eubric, before we begin discussing how the city is going to be run. After all they have as much (or more) of a stake in this as we do. And besides, I have some opinions of my own I'd like to state and I don't want to have to repeat myself to them later."
  7. Yep, that I can see.
  8. "Makes sense, I wouldn't let you either." "Yes, helping. And I'm glad to meet your friend. Well, as glad as I can be right now. An assassin you say?"
  9. "Oh hell no!" With those word Throlar was back with the rest of the Heroes. "That is the single stupidest, most irresponsible thing I've ever heard!" And as irritable as ever to boot. "Quite aside from the difficulties that would place us in we are, if you recall, not the only people under it's protection. The Norns brought it over to Eubric when they fled Vartland and have been dependent on it's protection ever since. Even if Heroica ceases to make use of it we are not destroying it simply because it is not ours to do with as we please! Now, can someone tell me what's going on here, what he," he pointed at Ulric, "is doing here, and who she," he pointed at Diana, "is and what she's doing here."
  10. They didn't notice it immediately, but anyone who took the time to look would notice that Throlar hadn't followed them. Hopefully he would arrive soon.
  11. (To be honest, I don't see how we could be better prepared for that then we already are. I say go ahead. Also, I should have nine ether for being transcended for four rounds.) Suggested Battle Order and Actions, Right Flank; >Lind throws a Military Grade Fire Bomb. >Lind throws a Military Grade Fire Bomb. >Petaldan attacks, Slimy Sword. >Kiray attacks, Mythril Hunter's Crossbow. >Kiray attacks, Mythril Hunter's Crossbow. >Eric attacks, Godricsleif. >Ezeran casts a Fire spell. >Heckz removes Burning Eyes and equips Watt's Artifact. >Heckz casts a Fire spell. >Germ attacks, Flying Talon "of the Salamander". >Throlar uses Phoenix Incense, if no allies KO'd, attacks with Ludeus. >Torald banishes Rosier.
  12. "There's a chance of banishing this thing permanently?" Throlar paused for a moment to consider this. "Well, that seems worth the risk of death. Charge!"
  13. "We'll be kicking it down the road no matter what we do," said Throlar diplomatically, "demons can't be killed in any real sense. Defeating their physical forms simply banishes them to Azazot until someone summons them again. In fact imprisoning it in the card may be the only way to stop them for any length of time. It's not a permanent solution but it's frankly better than the alternative."
  14. "Euflear," Throlar interjected diplomatically, "now is not the time for revenge. If you wish to mourn afterwards that's fine, but right now let's just finish this as quickly as possible."
  15. "Germ," said Throlar in a rather strained way, "I appreciate you may not like someone else telling you what to do, but please for the love of heaven drop this 'I'm a big tough guy who doesn't get along with other people, you can't tell me what to do!' act and do as I ask. Please?" (Fixed.)
  16. (I just remembered that myself. The battle order has been altered to accommodate.)
  17. "No, no, no. Everyone stop what you're doing. Petaldan, I don't need a tonic, I'm going to be constantly replenishing ether for the foreseeable future, it'll be fine. Lind, you're the only person attacking right now. Everyone else stop, you're not attacking anyone right now. We have an opportunity to prepare ourselves for our engagement with Rosier, let's not just rush headlong into a fight with her before we're ready." ( @Waterbrick Down, shouldn't I have thirteen ether from the transcended effect?) Suggested Battle Order and Actions, Right Flank; >Kiray uses Serpent Scales. >Kiray drinks Soma. Throlar removes Amulet of Elven Loyalty and equips Lens of Speed Reading (If the free scroll use comes into effect instantly Throlar will also use Scroll of Elemental Aura (Fire) on Kiray). Eric uses Dragon Scale. Ezeran removes Bad Luck Charm and equips White Ninja Cowl. Germ uses Nostrum on Heckz. Heckz uses Smelling Salts. Heckz forecasts Cold weather. Lind does nothing (Stunned.) Free Action, Lind removes Skull Shield and equips Shield of the Silent Knight. Lind vs Nazgulie and Periwinkle, Bifrost Blades. Petaldan drinks Ambrosia. Torald drinks Grand Tonic.
  18. "Actually you should drink a Tonic, you spells will be more effective against our enemy then physical attacks."
  19. (Err, neither of you should need to do that. @Waterbrick Down, Unless I'm mistaken Lind's Arrogant Prick would've also affected Remedying Root F, meaning that Torald's attack would've been directed at Reinvigorating Root F. If that's the case then all roots on our side are dead.)
  20. (Why do you have Torald attacking Heckz? He's already targeted so he has no chance of dealing any free hits. And besides, a regular hit from Eric at this point will do more than enough damage to kill him outright. I honestly prefer the idea of taking the chance to destroy every root on our side in a single round with minimal risk. Though I will take you alterations to my conditional actions into account. Also; @Waterbrick Down, I'm pretty sure you calculated the damage from Eric's Supernal Smite incorrectly. By my reckoning he would've done 420 damage to the Twisted "Eight Ball" ([WP 22 x2{Zweihänder Grip}] x4[Supernal Smite deals damage to the enemy equal to x4 WP +level] +31[level] +3[power bonus] x2[lightning vs mechanical enemy] =420) defeating it instantly.) (The most recent alterations to my suggested battle order reposted for convenience.)
  21. (Ohh right, forgot what that did for a moment. Sorry.)
  22. @Waterbrick Down (Ezeran isn't lucky, you should've only rolled once for his attack last round.)
  23. "Err, I wouldn't do that actually. Look, by my reckoning we can afford to completely ignore three aspects this round, meaning that we can simply focus most of our attention on the roots. Here's what I suggest; Suggested Battle Order and Actions, Right Flank; >Kiray throws a Fire Bomb at Restoring Root G. >Kiray throws a Fire Bomb at Restoring Root H. >Petaldan throws a Fire Bomb at Restoring Root I. >Germ vs Reflecting Root E, Flying Talon. >Heckz vs Sküld, Darkness spell via Weatherfax Broom. Eric vs Heckz, Conspirator. >Lind vs Restoring Root J and Remedying Root D, Bifrost Blades. >Lind vs Remedying Root E and Remedying Root F, Bifrost Blades. >Ezeran throws a Fire Bomb at Reinvigorating Root E. >Torald throws a Fire Bomb at Reinvigorating Root F. Throlar heals most injured via Ludeus or throws a fire bomb at Restoring Root J.
  24. (He's copying that from last round, It'll probably be updated to the current round as soon as he runs it.)
  25. (Copying the modified battle order down here for convenience.)
