  1. Hero Factory? Got to admit I struggled with those.
  2. Boat hulls would be awesome, but I suspect it will be some more Atlantis related pieces.
  3. It does? All the ones I have show the figures on one side (as a sort of checklist) and then the "build" instructions on the other. Is this different for US figs or something?
  4. Not sure i understand all the Boba hating. Aside from a more detailed print on his helmet it doesn't actually look all that different from the old minifig.
  5. You'd be better looking at the older RC trains, 7897 or 7898, since they both used that particular motor.
  6. One possibility would be to get the newer power functions train motor, as seen in the two new train sets. With that the power functions cable is integrated into the unit, so you could place things on the studs at either end (visually it is a pretty similar shape to the old 8866 motor). Don't think Lego are selling them seperately yet though so they aren't an entirely cheap option. Bricklink, maybe?
  7. It attaches to a 2x2 square of studs at the middle of one end of the motor, the ones with the metal bits slightly visible on them.
  8. Hmm, I think the newer one looks a lot better than the motorized version and it doesn't have that embarrasing "walk" either. I still think the original one is nicest, but I am kind of tempted to pair mine up with this latest revision when it comes out.
  9. I only got one in both of mine, I assume it was a mistake in early sets that was soon rectified.
  10. I wouldn't say the only disadvantage. Aside from battery charging, you need room on board the train to actually carry the battery which can be difficult in smaller engines. And the remote control limits you to a practical limit of about 8 trains running at a time (and introduces the possibility of someone wandering around the show disrupting things with their remote). All in all though, I'd say it's worth investing in if you can.
  11. Part number: 3004 Name: Brick 1 x 2 New Colour: Dark Brown Part number: 3010 Name: Brick 1 x 4 New Colour: Dark Brown Those would come in extemely handy, i think.
  12. Yes it does, they're under the technic rubber tipped dart icon thingy (the one after the minifig category), both the base and cannon are there. Nice fort btw, though it could maybe do with some more colour to break it up a bit I think.
  13. Actually they used to have a white torso which was printed with either blue or red on the front, never quite understood the logic in that - maybe white torsos were cheaper to produce. The new redcoats have a printed red torso, but even that couldn't be easily used on a blue torso since bits of the detailing are in blue. Ah well, here's hoping LDD 4 increases the number of torso prints somewhat.
  14. LDD shouldn't need any firewall changes. If I were you, I'd make sure you have the latest video card and sound card drivers.
  15. Sadly neither the redcoat or bluecoat torsos appear in LDD, nor the pirate ones. You just have to improvise with what is there.

  17. Having played with that a bit, it's a very intuitive way of handling flex track. Removing the four piece at a time limit would be a definite improvement though.
  18. I picked one up for a reasonable price on Amazon recently, don't think you'll see one in stores now though.
  19. This was the set that eventually drew me out of my dark ages, albeit not till after it had been discontinued, though I managed to get it MISB. I still love it to this day despite the minor issues. I actually had to rebuild it in-place to fit it onto the old hi-fi stand I now use to display it, but I reckon it's worth it!
  20. This time, the castle I didn't have as a child but did spend countless hours drooling over in catalogue pictures. Having built it in LDD, it seems even better than my childhood dreams. Darn it, I may start having to collect classic castle lego as well! 6086 Black Knight's Castle - Theme: Castle LXF File The hinge joints to the drawbridge are different as the required piece is missing. As it stands, that means the drawbridge wouldn't work properly, but I was trying to leave as much of the original pieces there as necessary. Once again, kudos to SolidBrick for his awesome baseplate replacements too.
  21. I'm not sure having to check two threads would necesarily be more helpful. Perhaps we could just put a placeholder message in the main thread (possibly with WIP picture) and then update that when the final model is complete? I don't know about anyone else, I was certainly planning on fixing models when LDD 4 comes out if it is at all possible. I think as long as the posts contain enough information to highlight where the changes are it shouldn't be too difficult to do, especially with a combination of LDD Manager and the select brick by type tool. I don't necessarily think that extensive lists of part changes will make that any easier. Grouping might help, but if the geometries of the parts are subtly different, it might not actually improve things at all and may be confusing if groups have also been used to improve the construction of the model overall. That said, I am slightly kicking myself for having not grouped the baseplate on Eldorado Fortress, although I'd guess the old molded plates are one of the least likely to show up in digital form.
  22. I've got both now (having just bought 7939, lovely set!) and they're both visually and functionally identical. I'm not going to open it up but I can't imagine there is any difference. I think it's a marketing ploy to indicate that you can now control up to 8 trains from one remote, a step up from the 3 with the previous RC remote.
  23. Hehe, probably well deserved. Must say though, as I'm currently off work recuperating from a stay in hospital, building some of my favourite sets in LDD has helped immensely to stave off the boredom. Talking of which, a personal favourite and one of the few really big lego sets I had as a child: 6080 King's Castle - Theme: Castle LXF File I brick built a little replacement for the missing pulley and obviously the string is missing, also LDD doesn't have the 16*22 basplates used at the back of the castle so I had to substitute (hence it sticking out slighty at the back). Model is grouped to make "play" features a little easier to work with I hope. Edit: updated with some of Calabar's fixes and some colour tweaks. Updated to LDD4.
  24. Juniorization may have played a part. I think more likely is Lego's insistence that all models went through rigourous tests to ensure they used only legal building techniques, something which would apply to any alternates displayed on the box too. The cost of that process almost certainly makes it less viable to produce a bunch of concept designs solely for artwork purposes.
  25. 7601 Go-Kart - Theme: Creator LXF File 7609 Helicopter - Theme: Creator LXF File 6754 Family Home - Theme: Creator LXF File LXF File LXF File I've included the main model for completeness. Despite being in the index my version includes the sliding door and also groups the upper floors to make it easy to get inside if anyone fancies decorating the house! Edit: Updated to LDD4 and fixed minor bugs and piece substitutes so should now be complete.
