  1. In the NXT 2.0 software it's in the Tools menu, at least in the English version.
  2. I'm pretty sure then that damage would be more due to the liquid nitrogen than surface moisture freezing anyway!
  3. I want to comment, but words can't quite sum up how stunning that is.
  4. i think that's probably just a "run up to xmas" thing, as parents buying the train sets are probably buying some extra tracks to go with it. It's not usually hard to buy the all plastic track and I can't imagine it'll be long before they have some back in stock. It's probably rarer on ebay because it's relatively new and so unlikely that people are selling off old collections of it. There's plenty of it for sale on bricklink.com though, so if you need some now it's probably your best bet.
  5. 6086 Black Knight's Castle as this 'issue', though I took it to be because it doesn't actually connect to it (at least in the traditional sense). With a little bit of creative work you can position it in roughly the right place.
  6. www.brickshelf.com is probably the best place. Most stuff on there is real Lego, but LDD images and models are allowed too.
  7. You might also see this error on Vista and above if you've attempted at some point to save files under Program Files. Older versions of LDD weren't flagged as Vista compatible (IIRC) and so writes to program files were virtualised. Access is flagged as Vista compatible so virtualisation is disabled which might confuse things. Moving files to a 'safe' location, like My Documents, should fix it if that's the problem. I think you also might expect to see something similar if the file was downloaded in Internet Explorer, as it'll have marked it as potentially unsafe. If that's the case you can 'fix' it by right clicking the file, opening the properties and clicking Unblock.
  8. Wow. I have to have a couple of the hazmat guys, definitely the best figure since the series 1 zombie!
  9. Well technically it's an MLCad problem, if MLCad is defaulting to saving within the Program Files structure, since applications aren't supposed to do this under Windows. It doesn't always manifest under older versions of Windows, if the user is running with full administrative rights, but will under Vista and above due to the tighter security.
  10. Only read a bit of it so far, but it seems really good. The sorting article in particular sounds all too familiar as I yet again sort my collection once more. Definitely worth a read for anyone unsure of whether to check it out (I nearly missed out thinking it would all be in Spanish)
  11. Looks like this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=30271px3&in=S from 4990 Rock Raiders HQ
  12. They may mean consistency in the sense that they can tell the factories "All magnet sets must be glued" rather than trying to ensure that everyone is aware the difference - "This little green man is Star Wars so glue him, this other little green man is Space Police, so don't glue him etc..."
  13. I suppose this was inevitable, between Hasbro's likely sabre rattling and AFOL's often stating they'll wait for magnet versions of figs rather than buying expensive sets for the exclusives, the magnets must look like a bad idea. Gluing them to the stands will probably put a stop to both of those issues, while still keeping them around as cheap impulse gifts for kids.
  14. You're almost certainly editing the wrong preferences file. If you try to edit the one under Programs (Program Files in XP) you'll get this issue. You need instead to edit the one under your personal user's folder. The only other thing that could cause this is if you're trying to edit it while LDD is open (though I haven't checked). Would there be any interest in a Windows tool to do this for people? I could probably knock something up reasonably easily.
  15. They appear to be the same game, perhaps just renamed for different markets? Either way, you can get it now and the sheep do look quite cute.
  16. It is amazing and, of course, built by a fellow Eurobricker Dryw Filtiarn. More detail at http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=28659
  17. It doesn't say they won't have minifigures, just that they won't have minifigures with the NASA logo. Judging by the picture of the shuttle, there'll still be figs but the classic space logo will be used as a more generic 'space' identifier than NASA.
  18. There's a world of difference between criticising TLG for letting it slip through QA and picking out individuals to blame (even whoever designed the LA, who could never have known what would be required in 8043). It was a mistake, it was rectified and hopefully TLG will learn a lesson from that.
  19. The old RC and PF "train" remote are 'set and forget', LoS is needed only to change the setting. The technic PF remote goes only when held in place, LoS is needed pretty much continuously. Finally, if you use the Rechargable PF battery box, it has a speed controller on it so you could dispense with IR entirely if you just wanted the train to run continuously at a fixed speed. Plenty of choice.
  20. Line of sight is needed for the PF/RC controllers, since it's IR based. But remember also that they only need line of site to change speed, so you can quite happily leave them running under a covered section without them stopping.
  21. Plate 2x2 Round can now be put as a 'lid' on Barrel 2x2 The 'Ghost' body can now be properly attached to a minifig.
  22. A truly sad day indeed. Dan's site has probably contributed more to the AFOL community than anyone can imagine. To lose him so young is tragic. My heart goes out to his family.
  23. I do follow, but it seems a very odd scheme. If you spent exactly the same amount of cash plus whatever discount you'd built up, eventually you'd be getting an enormous amount of stuff for free without ever having spent more money. It doesn't seem like a very sustainable scheme, or at least not to me.
  24. I don't think I've ever seen any discount point scheme where you can earn points on the savings you make, that would seem a bit odd to do, as you'd never actually be able to use up all your points. As it stands, I'm loving the VIP scheme, it's got me some great sets for free. The only wierdness I've noticed is when checking the points balance history on lego.com, the numbers don't seem to add up. And at various points I even seem to have a negative points balance. Not a big deal, but makes keeping track of things a bit awkward.
  25. Actually no, I didn't think anyone was quite that daft Although it looks like it may have defeated my machine at the very last step, my machine just can't cope trying to manouveur the middle tower into place. This will be the perfect stress test when LDD 4 comes out! Still it's loads of fun building it again, I still haven't brought myself to dismantle the real thing yet.
