hook lift truck

Looking clean! I would move that XL more to the front, I dont like how it looks back there near the axles. Ideally XL would be placed under the cab and long shaft would lay through the chassis. Based on the picture you provided as a inspiration model, your cab is out of proportion. I think you should scale it a bit lower. -
Large Wheels

I tried THIS and works good, you can make it bigger, and retain good strength. Some other examples: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=488767 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=4366478 -
It is still not alarming, after 3 weeks i would write them. Longest i have waited was 3.5 weeks.

WIP - PF Remote Control Backhoe
Milan replied to timslegos's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice update. First, i dont think the arm is too big for the chassis. Actually it depends on what particular machine your model is based on. I suggest you take the pdf file from manufacturer and scale it to fit your model. That way you can make accurate moc. Second, i dont like turntable section connecting arm and chassis...it looks too fragile and weak, and when arm is max extended it bends and friction is a issue then, i guess. I solved that in two of my backhoes by making chassis in studs and using old big turntable. It runs smoothly regardless of angle of the arm. Great build so far! Keep up:) -

TechnicJuan and Blakbird: I built few MOCs in the past, some of them are pretty large and complex, and i am building few now, and for me it was never a tedious and painful to make numerous photos of partially built models, or even some (more or less) simplified LDraw files for possible future use and improvement. Actually i saw that as a part of MOCing. I agree that there are few very generous people making free instructions, like you said, Jurgen and Han, I would also add: Jennifer Clark and hers great DAT files, animations, diagrams and descriptions that took pretty much time, for all of her models, and they were complex, too, and free...example HERE. Texbrick's presentation of his huge MOCs where he took photos as the building is progressing HERE. Sariel has made some great instructions for some of his models for free HERE. There are numerous of builders on BS who do the same with photos as texbrick. If you have enjoyed building your MOC, and you think the MOC is great, be a gentleman and make the instructions for free, consider it as a finishing touch of your MOC building. Making HQ instructions is not a valid reason to ask money for it. I know it takes time. Jennifer Clark's AC-50 is at least equally complex as this concept car, and her files are free. She needed much time for that, too. Maybe we have different views on this matter simply because we have different approach to this hobby, or as TechnicJuan informed me, business. Blakbird, TechnicJuan, DLuders and Meatman...you are not a MOCers as far as I know, and in your point of view you might want HQ instructions more than i would want them. I am a semi MOCer and for me it is enough just to see nice MOC as this concept car is, and few photos of partly destroyed axles , gearbox and chassis is all i want. -

We agree on this one entirely. But once again, why asking money for trying to satisfy your own desire and need for perfection? This is a hobby of ours which should gave us the "Yes, I did it !" feeling every time when we create a HQ MOC or HQ instructions...15 bucks cant do that for me. -

Why investing so much time in creating HQ instructions, and then asking money for it? Simple photos of partially opened modules would have been enough, and free. If it is meant to be shared, of course. -

It is not the motors that are main problems, but plastic gears and axles. -

That is probably the non-LEGO rubber band. But you can use the one that LEGO is producing as well.- 67 replies

Oryx - My First Bike

As a big fan of the bikes, I really like this MOC! Especially the chrome exhaust and overall shape of the bike. One thing I do not like is front mudguard, and the tires...I think it would look better with newer slick motorcycle tires -
My favorite part of this MOC is fire and its effects on the Horse and the building.
