  1. What? Why did this topic get revived?? Unless someone has leaked pics or inside info they want to share...there really isn't much else to say... leak some pics please??? I know you're out there
  2. Maybe not new forums, but you know those little icons you can have to go next to new topic titles? what if there were different icons available for different themes?
  3. naw, non-system is for stuff that either has no studs like bionicle, or stuff that has no minifigs like those new mosaic creators Humh Maybe it should be smaller than the big base set, almost resembling a cross between a submarine and platform. yeah, that'd be good; I'm not buying the main base because it's just too big and $$$ a smaller structure would be great though
  4. Aquaraiders doesn't have its own subforum (yet) and its not exactly pirates, or space the closest thing is divers, which is a town subtheme, so here it is
  5. Submarine launched ICBM? Undersea Oil Rig -not sure how this is really different from the current base set... Coral Reef -like one of the smaller sets, except with much more detail put into the rocks seaweed and animal accessories
  6. Yep, I've bought the set and discovered this too. What's annoying about the *Correct* construction of the gun, is that now the yellow cone at the end of the gunbarrel is only held on by the spear being in place; if you pull it out to spear a shark that piece comes off along with it. (a few spare spears would have been nice too btw, ohwell) Interesting feature: the shark's tail can wiggle side to side like it's swimming. Except it doesn't use a standard hinge, its using those rubber technic axle joiners(i think they're originally RCcar parts) to hold it on; so it's like a springy effect. in-person the shark doesn't look as bad as the Pic above, the tail is a lot longer than that; tho it does still feel front heavy... At the very least, you get the printed gray canopy glass with shark eyes on it. So you can build some AquaSharks II to go with the AquaRaiders II...
  7. Possibly Walmart I saw that set along with Shadow Crawler there today. CA, USA
  8. Wow this topic is old... The closest thing to instructions, is the pics in here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=165547 thats the Nova Wasp; the predecessor to both of the Vespids, but the construction is similar. One of the pics shows the side removed so you see the important SNOT and technic beam crossbracing; it should give you some ideas at least for building something similar.
  9. Well, I bought the Claw Crusher. And It's really good, actually I like it even more than any of the 2006 Large Mechas. Good colors, good parts, (I wonder what the alternate model is going to be? hopefully in 2007 the website will have one?) and the pilot's 'roll cage' cockpit is really clever There's just a few, easy to fix problems: first thing I noticed, when putting the gatling gun together, is that there is waaay too much friction between the orange disks and the 'space scanner' rod they're being jammed onto. It's probably a PC to PC plastic bonding issue. my fix for this was to spread out the orange disks, one at the base of the gun and one pushed up to the front of the barrels, this way only one of them needs to get jammed on there... second thing was the 'shoulder pads' armor breaks off really easily if you press down on the ends fix for that is to just fill in the gaps under the edges with some plates (use the 'extra' 1*1 pieces), they help to distribute pressure on those slopes so they don't pop off so easily lastly, the knees don't bend, but its pretty simple to steal some parts from last year's Sentry mecha to fix them; not like the Sentries are going to be seeing much action with this guy around anyway :-D P.S. the 'handle' pieces that the Claw fingers are clipped onto: Glad to see that both of them were smooth and worked properly. In all my other sets from the last 6months all those handle pieces have always had jagged edges that keep things from clipping on smoothly. I guess they finally noticed that the mould was broken and fixed it.
  10. It sure is popular... Except a few weeks ago didn't we get to see a TLC "illegal" building techinique training presentation for employees? It would work, except I don't think they allow their designers use it...
  11. I was just looking at this picture on S@H: Look really closely at the little harpoon gun on the lower right. the gun body is a video camera, but what is that yellow clip holding the handlebars onto the end? Looks like a tile with a clip, except that end of the camera has a hole, not a stud. Could that be a new 'upside down' version of that clip part? On the other hand, this is a CAD image, not actual bricks... maybe they just have something flipped around wrong... P.S. look really close at the control panel inside the sub cockpit; looks like TLC is borrowing ideas from brickshelf Space mocs...
  12. I don't visit the site or watch the silly movies or comics... so i have no idea what you're talking about but I'm going to guess that your best bet is to view the html source for the page they're on, look for any filename that say's .sfw at the end then copy down the directory path and download those directly .... ok actually i looked and the file extension for the actual file is .wmv here's one: (click save-as on this link) h ttp:// cache.lego.com/upload/contentTemplating/ExoforceMovies/otherfiles/1033/upload6C805DD4-5241-468B-8965-1D20EBB10A3A.wmv
  13. Nice are the Clips on the Treads the same size as System clips? like these?
  14. Interesting note: I heard that the Minimates/C3 stuff was made as building blocks not necessarially to imitate Legos, but because at the time some other company had the rights to licence 'action figures' of those comic book characters, so by packing the figures with a few building block vehicles, they could label it as a 'construction toy' and get around legal issues.
  15. Cool! It almost looks like a Bathyscape. You'd just need to add the cockpit bubble to the bottom.
  16. Nope.
  17. Did an update: The 'neck' has been redone to give the impression of sloping downwards and added two rail things on the back to help break up the flatness. Still has wing issues, and its too fat now, also the 'cobra hood' is missing. Overall looks better tho...
  18. Made this in LDD. Comes from the Homeworld game. It's a space strategy game featuring massive space fleets (but im sure everyone knows it, right?) Now, I'm fairly sure that I have more than a few of the proportion's wrong, but it's recognizable and looks cool, so I'm happy for now... Most obvious thing that bugs me, but can't easily be fixed at this scale is that the wings are straight instead of swept back. Mostly because I'm using the entire click hinge as the wing...can't really use anything larger than that or it'll be out of proportion... If any knows a smaller way to hold a wing at that kind of angle I wouldn't mind hearing some ideas. Sorry, but LDD Factory is acting wierd right now, so I can't check the price yet... I'm going to estimate near 5$USD, since it's using lots of tiny detail bricks. Brickshelf Gallery
  19. I just started up LDD and found that my upload download and other online features were missing too. It probably mean's they're doing some kind of maintenance on their end of things, if it doesn't last more than a day or two I wouldn't worry.
  20. The only time those buttons ever Dissapear for me, is if my computer was not connected to the internet. If your computer *is* in fact connected... maybe something is causing LDD to think it isn't. Did you recently add a new firewall?
  21. *reads description for the AquaBase Invasion set* "a giant squid is on the attack! With posable tentacles and a skeleton in its transparent belly, this sea monster will be tough for the Aquabase crew to beat." Thats actually pretty clever Basically the squid's body is made of those large curved windscreen pieces, and it has a skeleton in it's stomach. Reminds me of the old Ogel Mutant Squid AT set... tho in that case the stomach was the cockpit for a robot squid...
  22. Remember to save copies of the Proto pics before they fix the webpage. Proto designs are always cool for reference...
  23. Actually, seemingly Random hidden pieces that are a different color, are strategically placed to help make instructions clearer; they act as landmarks...
  24. Woot! Finally available. and not a moment too soon, just last night I made a replica of 7770 using some of the "Old AquaRaiders" parts (a green version) :-D Going to place my order now at lunch break... Actually, some of those Protoype pics look kinda nicer than the final versions... 7771 proto has a bigger sub instead of a silly rock 7770 proto has a crab... which is more interesting to me than another treasure chest
  25. Following that link and going up a folder... this one's pretty interesting too http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=214507
