  1. I just had a funny thought I'll bet that there will be Mars Mission comics ...folloing the pattern of bionicle EF and AR... Heck, the way things are going lately, Im suprised there arent Firemen or Police online comics :-X
  2. Same here I especially love the official Front Loader sets, great for scooping up my bricks technic bricks do find their way into my System mocs tho, usually as cross support beams and snot stuff...
  3. Well, the website let me place an order. And it didnt ask me any questions about school affiliation or whatever. So now we just have to wait for someone on TLCs end to confirm the order and ship it :-D That Ocean Odyssey submarine's going to look great when I mod it for AquaRaiders
  4. Can you clarify please? Does this mean, that Anyone in the USA can buy these? or did you mean only Teachers in the USA? Cause, Im not a teacher... but theres some stuff in there I'd love to have Ocean Odyssey for 30$USD. Thats 10$ off the normal price :-) http://www.legoeducation.com/store/detail....=6&pt=4&ID=1098
  5. I regret not buying this a few months ago from S@H (or was that the original version I saw back then?) because that one was on sale for about $4USD, for this latest release they want $15USD |-/ Yup, was on sale, then limited to a freebie when you buy the giant classic airport exclusive, then gone till now its back but full price. X-D *kicks self*
  6. Actually, I don't think they should win. I'm rooting for the Robots. Consider, if you put aside the comicbook story and the individual human characters(as nice as I'm sure they are); and look at the background situation: At some point Robots were in widespread use by humans as manual laborers, notably working in mines and other dangerous occupations. The future human society is entirely dependant on Robot workers. But these Robots are intelligent beings (or at least mecha1 was, perhaps he's some kind of supervisor bot), and after a point realize that humans are exploiting them. There is a Robot rebellion, turning their mining machines into weapons to fight back against the human Slavers. (early robot mechas tend to feature drills and other digging tools in the concept arts, later mechines are designed from scratch soley for combat) After a point the Robots begin to win their battles and outnumber the humans; this is the point where humans are treated as the 'good guys' because everyone likes the underdog. (this is where the official comic stories start out) Well I guess my point is that the 'good guys vs bad guys' situation isn't so clear cut... I wish they would show some storylines from when it all started when the Robots were the one's with the disandvantages...

one of those big cranes (if it was me I'd do it in technic so it can actually move around, but there are those oldstyle crane support pieces...) container handler (one is coming out in summer btw) lots of containers, all the same size and build, but vary the colors... maybe a simple shack, possibly a converted container, as an office and the rest is how many gray bricks you have for making the dock itself... See? its mostly just boxes.
  8. Regarding the Green Rally Runner I put the extra Red round bit in the center of the cockpit - in-between the 4 studs that are below it. So far I have 3 of the notX-podsl; the monkey I'm not getting because I dont use brown bricks... I'm the most impressed by the contruction pod's main model, in fact it remains in one pieces because I can't think of a better model of my own to turn the parts into... meanwhile the Helicoptor has turned into a Jet (diff design from the official Alt) and the robot pod... just sits there because I cant figure any projects that need all those little detail bricks just yet... As far as Parts for value goes, I thought the Heli-pod was the least impressive, it is all mundane bricks... whereas the robot is full of hinges and greeblies and the construction pod has rare yellow slopes and nice wheels -odly enough, based on the shelves at Target and TRU, kids love the Heli best anyway, I guess they don't buy for parts as much as the coolness factor....
  9. X-D I was joking, they can't actually move cause they're different websites; just my way of suggesting, that you probably have more chance of finding Bionicle experts on that forum, since the whole place is dedicated, while over here its just one section. Although, now that I think about it, Everyone just uses the same phpbb web forum scripts nowadays, so why couldn't threads be transferred if admins on each end approve and went thru the trouble?
  10. Hey don't worry so much about it. Just ask a mod to move this post to the BZPower forum. :-)
  11. I don't believe in 'Fine Art' Some things are entertaining, and some are not. And Legos make me happy. :-D Uhh... I will say that the recent upsurgence of lego mosaics to make photorealistic(from a distance) pictures is a pretty lame fad tho. Just takes a computer program to list the bricks needed to make any picture you ask for, no talent/originality at all and a waste of good bricks.
  12. I wonder if thats official storyline stuff, or just the reviewer/editor at action-figure giving his own impressions? A 'prison cell'? I was really hoping it was a 'bio-reactor core' where they use aliens as a fuel source! lols :-D I mean prison cell implies that the aliens are the bad guys, like criminals, which they clearly aren't. At least a bio-reactor is 'honest' about the humans' intentions of conquest. -thats gonna be the storyline in all my MM sets
  13. I'm probably going to have to say Insectoids or UFO, since those pretty much killed Space as we knew it. Or Starwars because it represents a stagnation of creativity in Space, and helped keep traditional Space from returning due to the market overlap; but really can't blame it since Space was already dead. I don't have a problem with Click-its or Quatro, actually they probably shouldn't be on this survey; since they aren't really marketed as normal legos, thus its not really relevant. P.S. You dont need to put "IMO" on stuff you say, we already know its Your Opinion, because this forum puts your username in the upper left corner, so who else's opinion could it be? lols :-D
  14. Couple things Im planning on, but no Time lately. |-/ Minifig scale Forklift, using the string/reel from roughterrain crane, or rescue helicoptor as a pulley system for a working lift. Modify yellow airport firetruck to have an extending bucket arm, by using the sliding boom from technic rough terrain crame. Make mini go-karts for all the minifigs that came in Ferrari fuel-stop.(they look bored being just crew, need a race) (after ebay purchase of space wheels arrives) Make some Robo-Explorer probes. (Mars Rovers but beefed up for utilitarian space colony useage) Make a traditional japanese styled building-in space. New space fighter design using large curved windshield from Motion Power.
  15. Whoa, thats really good too! Its an interesting comparison. One guy uses old building style with new bricks. One uses new building style (snot, studless) with mostly old bricks
  16. Nice idea! Good way to use up the extra parts from that airplane mechanic (I just wanted the Jet engine). Somehow that guy's grin tho, and the way he's holding that screwdriver looks scary... :-D
  17. *looks at fire command craft* *looks at hovercraft* yeah, good point, about the only thing the hovercraft has over the command craft is those two technic tube things on the side waterguns; I really want some of those so I can make some mnifig scale construction vehicles. Now If someone can tell me what under30$ set has those that Isn't a hovercraft, then sure I'd definetly skip it and find that fire command craft instead...
  18. 'Cause its cheaper. Why else? Now they don't have to mould the hose into the nozzle, you get to tie it on yourself; saves a special production step. Now that I think about it... do opening doors really add that much to playability though? even when they can open, you don't actually try to squeeze your minifigs through there, still need to go through the roof. And this way rather than get a door, i get one of those tiles with a thinwall pieces; which are more useful for Space...
  19. So, the brickshelf folders where all these pics are from... I don't guess anyone actually knows the owners? or has found matching names on mocpages or anyplace where we can ask them, Where they found the sets on sale? Also, the exo-codes pictured on box fronts, what happens if you try entering those onto the site? cause if you really wanted you could look at the box picture and.... Well, I want this set; for parts.
  20. No one actually knows the upper limit on lobster size in the open ocean; the ones we catch as food are all small because thats the size we design traps for. Some studies indicate that a lobster's cells do not appear to have a 'hayflick limit'(genetic aging process) they seem to keep regenerating without an age limit. So theoretically if one never gets sick and no one eats it... well we don't really know how old or big it can get. Cant speak for the angler or crab. Tho I do hear that anglers are pretty big and ugly to begin with...so the AR one isnt that much of a stretch :-D
  21. When they were available, what country and store did you buy them from? I don't think they were ever released in the USA.
  22. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery....=purplemongoose Someone has some rather nice spaceships in his folder. They remind me a lot of classic space style design. No SNOT, and Plenty of Studs showing. Got me thinking tho, what specific characteristics make them good? Lately I've been trying to plan out a new spaceship project, and I've been stressing over how to structure a Snot cockpit, what slopes I'll have available to transition smoothly between body and wings, etc.... While this guy's designs seem so carefree, and yet very good. Might be something to take a lesson from. What do you think?
  23. I vaguely remember that game. Was pretty good. Sorta an adventure game where you can walk around a lego island and play mini-games and stuff. Was it just a game? or were there sets released under that theme too? I think it basically looked like a semi-classic town - with actual buildings that arent either fire or police stations. Which is good.
  24. They'd make good parts packs, if they were sold for say 1$USD. Dont look like anything I'd want to spend a fortune on trying to find in secondary market tho... Also the robot, which is the best one, has no arms. Ironically though, I ended up making a few of my Robots in that style, with guns for arms... because I needed their arm pieces for something else...
