Veeery impressive! Well done! It really looks like all the great maps you find in these fantasy books! I think the map is very inspirational as well. -

Excellent - love the interaction between Avalonia and Nocturnus The tower itself is simple but reflects the identity of Avalonia and the Forestmen. Well done!

@NiceMarmot: very impressive map! I must say I always like maps when I'm reading Fantasy books. I can spend hours just looking at them. This one has a very professional touch and feel. Like it! @TinyPiesRUs: Very entertaining background story -
Very nice! The MOC is as beautiful as it is funny. I love it when a moc tells a little story! I like the tree and the train the most, but the rest of the moc is also very clever.

About the army: May be it is good to start by reasoning from our identity and the climate? Here's some thoughts I had: 1. We are rich (oil!): may be this should show in our officer's/soldiers uniforms 2. It's hot out there: probably we should have little or no heavy armor, that should slow us down is would be sweaty 3. We are tradesmen: our army may well show different weapons (southern/Prince of Persia & normal knights weapons and may be some more exotic weapons) 4. We have engineers - to drill the oil: This means we are the most technical/mechanical faction. Translating this to the army: * I would say it ideally should blend Prince of Persia, Lion knights and Dragon dark pearl armor and weapons. I like the idea of the reversed lion torso! It is light and uses the right colours (@ point2). I think prince of persia sets should be cheap to buy - some people are even selling their copies second hand already especially the desert attack set. (I just bought one for 5 euros) * I would also include some more exotic weapons and may be the composition of the army should reflect the diversity of a trademan's guild and a more meritocratic selection criteria for the army (versus noble descent) (@point 3) * I would suggest we have at least long bows and crosbows but perhaps also some more advanced weapons (@point4) * I'm a bit short on ideas as how to translate point 1 into our army. Ok so far the theory - I leave it to others to translate this to practice Hopefully it is of any use! -

Ser Thyrio: "Haha I already thought it would not hurt to send you some 'information' about my adventures. As a small token of my appreciation for your hospitality, I shall send out some more of that 'information' to the Kaliphlin capital." About that desert fort... I'm a bit short of tan bricks, but I might be able to pull of some interior buildings or houses. Is that ok as well? -

I, Ser Thyrio, swear my loyalty to the Kaliphlin Guild. A picture of Ser Thyrio:: Background: Inspired by the House of Lannister of the series 'Game of Thrones', ser Thyrio is a wealthy adventurous young knight who wishes to make a fortune. He brings with him a fair amount of gold. After all, it takes money to make money! The army consists mainly of light melee units and longbow archers - excellent to chase rogues in the desert. But do not underestimate these trained and skilled men as they are experienced and swift. The other half of the army consists of mercenaries: spearmen Bedouins and heavy melee units eager to draw their swords. -
Excellent work! I missed the wolfpack in your explanation, but may be I just overlooked them...

Excellent! I love the tower the most. I think it captures the original building best. Can't wait to see the furnishing - that would be the finishing touch!

Very nice work! I like the scenery the most, but the mill is also astonishing!

Is that part of the MOC I saw at LEGO-world (Zwolle, NL)? Excellent shot. It is simple, but captures the atmosphere perfectly! I do agree though... I want more blood!

Very good idea indeed! I would add another category: the best non-rectangular building. Excellent idea to start this thread - I've seen some great ideas!

I actually think this theme is pretty creative... and it has lots of promising accessories! I especially love the café and the beauty shop.

KristofBD replied to stuffz0rz's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Same here: I have a complete series 4 available, along with some extras. Best, Kristof -
Excellent job! This ship is indeed even more beautiful than your last one. I especially like the colour scheme and the back side of the ship. Well done!

Indeed, the same thought crossed my mind when I read that piece. But let's keep on dreaming. Who knows...

Title: Who killed Mr. Black? (Clue/Cluedo) Theme: Victorian/boardgames Minifig: Detective When I was young I liked to play a board game called Clue/Cluedo, where you have to find out who killed mr. Black, where he was killed and what weapon was used. The game is set in an old Victorian house and you examine the different rooms of the house looking for clues. In this vignette I decided to depict two rooms: the Hall and the Library with couch. Here you see Mr. Black lying in the Hall. Upstairs is the library. (more pics will be added) Here's a picture that only includes the building itself: A picture of the furniture and Mr. Black: Bonus pic: It was that dreaded Ms. Peacock who did it and she used the knife (see: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/KristofBD/MuskVignette/img_1704.jpg when public).

The figs are great, but the design of the batcave is just so-so, in my opinion. Too bulky.

I'm wondering whether it will be a black helmet or a regular dragon one - it is hard to tell based on the images. I would really like a black helmet, as it would differentiate the falcon knight more from the dragons. However, obviously a dragon helmet would be ok as well.
