It's great you're enjoying the quest, but this is probably a point to add a reminder that some players are entirely on the dark regarding the other quests. This isn't solely directed at Rumble (whose own quest I am enjoying reading!). Please be careful about what information you drop regarding the Dastaan quests. Thank you.

My question is more conceptual than mechanical. The world is fantasy-medieval. Sure, some QMs have pushed that a bit, but what you're suggesting is a fairly modern idea. In universe, who would by buying the 'stocks'?, I can't see anyone having the money except other houses (or their affiliates). Besides, why would the houses exchange control (through shareholder voting) for capital, what do they need the money for and would the families cede any kind of control to the 'public'. I think not. Universe-wise I can see trading in commodities, like wool, grain, lumber etc. But not shares in 'Houses'. And also, how would the Wolfgang be involved in the trading. I can't really see them having the means or inclination. If it was commodities trading though, both the Hinkwells and Shadeux would want to protect their cash flow and might be involved I price fixing or undercutting rivals...

Heroica RPG - Quest #29: Journey to Dastan

Nerwen begins to thank the man for the gold, but he leaves before she can get the words out. She places the gold in the pouch in her satchel and takes stock of what remains in there. I used my fire bomb in the previous battle. -

Overhearing Xander's conversation with the sick man, Nerwen steps to his side. She uses one ether in an attempt to heal him. I am a healer, let me see what I can do about your condition. -
The pace is excellent. It's just one of the things I'm enjoying about the quest.

What about half naked Haldor roaming the hall or Thormamil? Or Sarick or Nagure, although they're not human, they're still naked. Or Skrall who at the very least is also topless. Namyrra's not human either for the record. Finnegan doesn't wear clothes either, but does that mean he's a naked aura? What does that even mean? Where does all this nudity end? And no, I'm not being serious, nor do I have any problem with nudity, non-human or otherwise.

If a QM has players like this and wants to discourage players simply playing with themselves, perhaps the QM can ask, 'is the "other" personality total under the "primary" personality's control?' if yes, it's merely talking to oneself in pretty colours, if no then the player is all but asking to have some of their actions dictated by the QM. As opposed to an R-rating for the violence, horror, drug references, piracy, vandalism and other criminal acts?

Nerwen looked over the stall listlessly, feeling the light weight of her coin purse. Perhaps we should come back when there are more stall open? And there is possibly gambling at the tavern which would let those of us without much gold maybe win some. Especially if the tavern challenges were a puzzle rather than based on luck... Please, please, please. -

Nerwen returns the papers to Cronk. I cannot understand the writing. No doubt the Emperors will have scholars that could assist. Finegold... Finegold... I'm sure I've heard that name before. Wasn't there a quest to capture them? -

Turning over the red potion in her hands, Nerwen tries to use her connection with healing and order to determine if the potion is beneficial or harmful, using 1 ether if necessary Seeing the documents, Nerwen asks Cronk May I take a look at that please? Having a faculty for languages Nerwen thinks she might be able to read it, or at least recognize the language even if she cannot read it. -

Thank you De'kra, but no. You keep it in case we get seperated. Healing everyone and keeping us together is why I am along on this quest, I am merely doing my duty and require no extra thanks. -
I also agree, its a shame to see Leo leave, It seemed that he was just starting to move beyond the knight cookie-cutter. And the background you'd developed was beginning to get some traction. The comment about not liking the RP aspects of the game reflects something I was thinking about recently. What do people want to get from the game? I would guess there are as many different answers as there are players. One thing that is noticeable compared to other gaming groups I've been in is the number of characters that seem to be player avatars rather than independent characters in their own right. Not that's a goodor bad thing, but it does drag ego in sometimes. When a player expy is liked, the player feels liked, and conversely when not liked, some players find the game less rewarding. I'm not specifically saying that is what is happening here. But I know for myself I could more aware of that phenomenon and occasionally Bette careful ony character interactions.

Heroica RPG - Quest #29: Journey to Dastan

...and the power finally flows smoothly from her fingers, wrapping around the Summoner and expelling the darkness from the form he was currently manipulating. As the energy ebb, the body slides to the floor, now a harmless limb of rags and a battered skull helmet. The skeleton's shriek interrupts the satisfaction of the small victory and, seeing Xander now afraid of the skeleton, with Sarick and De'kra preoccupied with assisting him, Nerwen swings, dispatching the summoned demon. Giving thanks the builders that the battle was over, she turns to the party. Since I did not do much healing in the battle I will heal everyone now. I hope Cronk and Galen are well. Nerwen heals Xander, Sarick, De'kra and Nerwen using 4 ether. -

I will try, Sarick. Do not fret De'kra, Xander will soon be back on his feet. Standing in the back row, Nerwen gathered her fraying concentration to hurl another burst of healing at the weakened undead Summoner. Her inability to have an effect on the battle so far was troublesome. Perhaps it was a sign from Galadrya that she should pursue a less belligerent path. But such thoughts were distracting in the midst of battle. Nerwen shook her head to clear her mind, focused again and extended a hand toward the summoner to... -

thanks, JimB, shame I didn't hit though! I can also throw a bomb, but that means a skeleton will also hit you De'kra. Will that cause you much difficulty? -
Wow. Obviously Leo took his rejection by nearly every single female player character very hard. I wonder, can you fight an NPC in the arena? Given the wrong kind of provocation, I'm sure Nerwen would relish the opportunity to whale on the brobric wench.

Nerwen turns to the third skeleton ( C ) and directs her healing at him from the back row If I get a miracle while directing an attack at an undead opponent, does the healing affect all undead opponents or is it turned back to restore the party? -

Heroica RPG - Quest #29: Journey to Dastan
Chromeknight replied to JimBee's topic in The Heroica Archive
Nerwen's invocation was again interrupted by the teeth of the summoner. Although each bite only did little damage, the cumlative effect left her feeling unwell. Clearly his teeth were not very clean. Knowing that she could withstand, at best one more bite, she lifted her hammer and cursed the dark entity with the most virulent elvish curse she could bring to mind. If the elvish gods would not aid her, perhaps some other entity would give her words power to harm the summoner whilst she stood back from him. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #29: Journey to Dastan
Chromeknight replied to JimBee's topic in The Heroica Archive
I am not concerned, thank you De'kra. This Summoner does not bite very hard and as long as I remain at a distance from him, he cannot hurt me too much. I would like to put an end to his evil though. Aid me Galadrya! Oppose the one who twists death from peace to suffering! Nerwen focuses her thoughts, calling on the link she has formed with the Elven deities, asking for power to undo the Summoner through healing as she stands in the back row. Sorry, just noticed, i don't want to be a pain! I used one ether before the battle healing De'kra, and I'm not sure, but I thought failed attacks still used ether, or is that only miss, not damage & special damage? -

If no one is desperate to be healed I will continue attacking. Nerwen tries healing the Summoner from the back row again. -

I am sorry Sarick, I did not realise the summoner was full of darkness. I believe I can harm him by channeling the power of our makers at him. Then Xander is free to strike an opponent that will shrink from his blows. Nerwen Heals the Summoner from the back row Jim, My last hit was from the back row, which should have done half damage. -

You are right De'kra. And I will stand back also. Strike from the front and steal his purse! Nerwen attacks second grunt (B) from the back row
