If you could revive any one dead theme...
Tom Bricks replied to Darth Legolas's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think they could do it but Pirates was already successful the first time. I think that if they put the effort into it that it would sell but both Ninja and WW are very different from current sets. While they both clearly have 2 fractions they are not as easily distinguishable as the current castle or pirate lines. I think that if they released similar sets to the ones that they released in the 90's then they still might not sell. If they <insert that tiresome argument> the sets they might sell but I don't want my Ninjas fighting an undead army with their flick fire missiles. -
If you could revive any one dead theme...
Tom Bricks replied to Darth Legolas's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think one of the problems with Ninja was that they used most of the set ideas (that appeal to children) already. I personally would revive the WW theme they just left so many sets undone or the forestmen. The second is very unlikely however because of the current fantasy theme. What was TLC doing in the 90's? Many of these wishes are for themes that they discontinued in the 90's. -
[Comic] The Brick Testament - Satan Unleashed
Tom Bricks replied to Brendan Powell Smith's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Wow! not only have you created my favorite part to date but I also think that you may have created the nerdiest minifig ever (the guy in blue in the third pic. on the far right is wearing his pants a little high) -
The same for me city, pirates, castle, ninja, classic town, WW... I just don't know how the spending in moderation is going

REVIEW: 8967 Gold Tooth's Getaway
Tom Bricks replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Way to many technic parts for me, and no handlebars??? This reminds me why arn't there and Agent impulse sets? I know I would buy one. -
I am actually dissapointed in this set even though it was a good review. The other larger sets in the series look god but this one looks like a collection of parts and way to many stickers. I might have bought this set for the minifigs but I will probably save my money for the larger sets now.

I am in a similar situation so I just tried to build my entry from the memories of my childhood which is what I'm sure you have done. This is a good entry and it stands out from all the others because of it's unique design. Good luck in the contest

I used to collect only town sets but this years pirates have opened the floodgates and I have, since then, began collecting Pirates, Castle, Ninja, Indiana Jones and the Western theme. This has cost allot but I think that you can build a decent collection with a couple cheap sets, some bricklink orders and some mocing. you certainly don't need all the sets from a line, only some of the better ones.

Great entries! I think the viking might win the second one but you can never underestimate a samurai, who knows because it's only on one stud the entire vig. could fall and crush the viking.

I used to want this set so badly and I almost got it when it was rereleased. I still wonder why I didn't because with a building, van, 5 pizzas, and a then very rare female fig. this set would have been perfect for someone with a smaller collection like I had then. What surprised me the most is how well this set still holds up to others today. Off to bricklink!

I do like the video games but the electronics and now this seem a little much. I would like to see someone use these in a MOC though.

Im surprised they don't have flick fire missiles already.

Review: 10193 Medieval Market Village
Tom Bricks replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
12!! Wow i cant wait to see that picture. I had thought of buying multiples and then switching colors but because this is the first castle set I got in a while, (thats what i get for growing up with KK), my village is now bigger than any castle I can build. This is arguably the greatest castle set ever and easily the best set of the Fantasy Era. Thank you for the detailed and informative review. -
I used to do this but after a while I decided to organize them better. I bought 15 plastic tubs to sort them by color. I recommend it because it only cost me like $30 at CVS and right after I began building much better because I can now find the parts I need. The only problem is that it makes it allot harder to clean up.

I voted SF because of the reasons that others have said (superior interior). When looking at the links I was suprised to see that they were on the Lego site and that the avalibility says Sorry, item is not available in this country: United States. Why is this? Are these sets avalible in other countries- unlikely or is this just left over?

Thanks for the replies and the blogging. Im glad that you enjoyed viewing this as much as I enjoyed building it.

I would like to share with you all my EBCTC contest entry: Classic Main Street. I tried to make my entry is similar in structure to other sets of the time in that it has 2 buildings and 2 cars but I wanted to make it different by adding an updated version of the Lego Monorail. Because it was supposed to look like a new addition to a classic town I used newer parts and colors in this part of the MOC. The track is not the regular Monorail track because I never owned a Monorail and the BL prices are very high. I think that I enjoyed making this because I didn't need to go to bricklink and because I found a use for some of my old parts. The features of the MOC are the Bank (Left), the Inn (Right), a bus stop, popcorn stand, monorail with a door, monorail stop, a car with doors, and a truck with doors. The reason that the flowers are of this style is because these are the ones that I can remember playing with as a child in school. I had allot of fun making this (my first attempt at classic cars) and I will be expanding my classic town using this as a base in the future. The Monorail: A view of the street: Here is the link to more pictures including detailed pics of the cars and buildings and a group photo of all the minifigs used: http://www.flickr.com/photos/37952096@N04/...57617924774167/ Edit: for spelling

SlyOwl - 2 Erdbeereis- 1 Great contest- especially for the usually rare islander Mocs

I had to rate this set as excellent because of 3 reasons: 4 varied minifigs the tan baseplate 7 guns !!! This was my only Western Set and now I wish I could have bought more. The only bad thing about this set is that my two hinge plates broke very easily.

I think that a zoo would be a welcome addition to town sets and would be a god way to get uncommon or even new animals. I would also like a taxi set because these have been absent from the city line for years.
-
I think the word that you are looking for on the third one is yacht. I like these boats and they are well done with the limited part selection on LDD. I wish TLC produced some boats with the city line- regular boats where absent from the coast guard sets earlier last year.
-
I have about 850 but only last year I had 550. I also had allot more money last year
-
I like how the tree is balancing just about to break before the woodsman cuts it down. I think that TLC should make sets like this- with more foliage and everyday people.

Rediscover the bustling streets of Classic Town CONTEST
Tom Bricks replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town
I just want to make sure before i post my entry, can it include a train or monorail? These are kind of vehicles but I just wanted to be positive. -
10196: Grand Carousel/Merry Go Round discussion
Tom Bricks replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town
This is possibly one of the best sets that TLC has ever released. With all of the new and rare parts I will probably buy it but for almost $400 I may wait until it's discounted. Where are the tan beards that everyone was talking about? Also there seems to be 4 children instead of the previously mentioned 3.
